Had a nice experience at Big City Body Art. I made an appointment online about a week before. The paperwork completed before my appointment took about 5-10 minutes and then I picked the jewelry for my piercing. Make sure you are on time, as the appointment slots are quick. Upgraded threadless jewelry, depending on the piercing starts about $10 more than what's listed on the site. Any additional jewelry upgrades range from $30-$70. They show you all of your options and then it takes a few minutes while they prepare. Elena did my piercing and she was great! She made me feel very comfortable and gave lots of information for after care of my piercing including her card and the correct supplies to buy. The shop was clean and nicely decorated! I told Dave that my daughter and I need a loyalty membership or something because Big City is simply the best -- because of that, this is the only place I'll go for my daughter's piercings and mine. We've gotten over 16 piercings here combined. One of the things I appreciate about Big City Body Art is their need to be responsible when it comes to piercing minors. A parent, minor birth certificate, and identification are required. I know a few piercing shops where they will pierce a 16 year old without parental permission, and I think that is irresponsible. What if something happens?! The shop is also very clean. They just expanded, and the decor is nice and earring cases are nicely displayed. Anyway, Dave (who I think is the owner) is very frank, knowledgeable, and professional. He's our go-to for piercings for sure. I visited your shop twice once for examination when you were at your son's soccer game as Maddie stated and then I had to wait 2 hours until you could arrive and examine it . When we met you hadn't once ask to see it or the pictures. I even offered to show you . You declined and said we have video and audio . You then narrated the conversation to seem as if I'm the one in the wrong fit be dissatisfied and then got loud and stood up over me to intimidate me . Unfortunately that didn't work on me . You then waved and flouted the $100 at me as if that was the source of motivation for me . I express that I would have let yall fix the piercing if I would have received an apology for the huge mess up . Went here on a limb to get a piercing with my friend, I got my navel pierced and my friend got her nose pierced. The staff were nice but kept pushing their aftercare kit, but I guess it's their job. But all in all the shop was clean and they did what was asked for. The only grip I have is I got my belly pierced and the piercer put the piercing in upside down but that's an easy fix. read more

I'd definitely recommend Maddie if you are looking to get a new piercing. I got my nostril pierced here a few months ago and I couldn't be happier with how its turned out so far. Maddie is super bubbly and sweet and very personable to be around. She has kept up with me after the initial piercing, and answered all of my questions and concerns regarding aftercare and healing, as nostrils take a long ass time to heal lol. It's clear she really cares about her customers and is very passionate about her work. As someone who had a lot of issues with my last nostril stud, which I eventually had to take out because of infection, it's a breath of fresh air to not have to worry about this one. The service was terrible. I came in with my mind made up just to be criticized on my choice of tattoo. It was called lame, I was told I was broke, and to top it off, I was told it was basic. Yet that's exactly how I felt about his new idea of what I should have gotten to remember my mom! He is talented at pieces, but at writing words he suck, the cursive writing wasn't something I wanted him to tattoo on me. He wanted $300.00 for a tattoo I absolutely hated, no thank you. Told me I didn't know what I wanted and I should have waited or rescheduled.(WTF) Yes I do, you just don't want to do your terrible drawing and so I lost on my deposit because I refused to settle. I'm ok with that because at least it's not a piece of work that I'd hate the next day imprinted on me. Needless to say, I will never be back for a tattoo. I had my 2nd lobes piercing for the first time today by Maddie and she is AMAZING! Not only is she super skilled with her techniques, she is also a ball of personality!! My piercing didn't hurt at all and she really took the time to educate me about the aftercare. Also, the aftercare package (which is an optional purchase) is the CUTEST package EVER! It has an instruction card, their stickers, lollipops and a pack of Q-tips to help you take care of your new bling. It really goes to show that Maddie and the rest of the crew really care about their work even after you leave their shop. I can't wait to come back for more piercings with them! Getting an appointment was super easy. Parking was plentiful as well. I like that they have reserved parking spots just for their customers, but there is a small public parking lot within walking distance from their shop if you can't find parking. read more

My experience here was so awful. The staff are so condescending and rude unprovoked. They pressure you into buying their care kits, which I've heard (in these reviews) don't work very well. They ask you what you plan on using instead only to criticize and shame you for using that. Had I been younger and getting my first piercing this would have very much turned me off from wanting to get more piercings. The man who pierced me literally criticized something I was wearing.
