We didn't let my doggie stay here. We reached out and asked about availability and price and mentioned our doggie and type (lab) and shared a little about him. The initial response was, literally one word, 'yes,' about availability. I responded back to verify the full day price. The one word response, '20.' At that point, I let them know that I was looking for more info, more words and maybe just a more welcoming or at least a more communicative response. Their reply was that they answered my questions and if I asked them more they would tell me. I asked about the low all day price and they said they could charge more but choose to keep it affordable. That's a great thing as long as the time and patience and care for dogs is adequate. I have no indication of any patience, any attention to detail, or any interest in caring for my dog. Anyway, maybe this is a great place. I'm just not comfortable with the bare minimum and poor communications, especially from the start. read more

This facility was great. My dog hadn't been left at a boarding facility before and I was worried that he would have a terrible time. Bonnie made him feel comfortable and he had a blast. Bonnie was incredible with our 4 1/2 old puppy Arlo. I'm so lucky I found her and went with my gut instinct to have her doggie sit my pup because she took care of him like her own while I was snowboarding in Yosemite. I have been taking my Golden Retriever, Parker, to Big Creek Boarding for a few years now and there is no other kennel or boarding service I trust more. (I use at least three other kennels depending where I am traveling). Bonnie is tremendous with caring for all of the dogs that she boards, and I feel Parker is in the best hands and most capable care at Big Creek Boarding. My dog loves to hike and run, however in Yosemite that is not available because of Park regulations. When I drop Parker off I know he is getting as much or more exercise than he'd get with a hike. Bonnie allows the dogs to play together in a great outdoor area, with access to their kennels as needed, and takes the time to make sure they all get along before putting them out together. Bonnie is very accomodating and the rates are extremely reasonable. I feel absolutely confident that Parker is with the best care and has the happiest time while I am out & about. When we drive up he can't wait to get into the kennel and play with the other dogs. What more needs to be said? Happy dog = happy owner! read more

Bonnie was so nice. We took a last minute trip to Yosemite and she was pretty full. I convinced her to take in our 2 dogs and she agreed. We were so pleased with the facility and with her. The place is very nice, open and spacious lots of room for the dogs to run around outside in a safe and fenced in environment. Inside it is air conditioned and very comfortable for the dogs. She has a large comfortable bed and a flat screen TV in the room for the dogs to hang out and relax as if they were home. Our dogs were so happy that they didn't want to come with us when we picked them up. On top of all that her rates are so reasonable and fair. I am thinking of making the drive to have her board our dogs even when we are not visiting yosemite. I felt very comfortable with the owner and the facility. If you're headed to Yosemite and need a place to board your dog, Big Creek does the trick and then some. Super conveniently located off Highway 120, just 5 miles outside the cute Victorian town of Groveland is Bonnie's place. She has a large fenced in area where the dogs can play with and several kiddie pools for those hot days. Dogs have a combination of play and rest time throughout the day with the latter taking place in a freestanding air conditioned building on her property. At night dogs are kept in large kennels with comfortable bedding either you or Bonnie provide. Bonnie obviously cares about the dogs that stay with her and to ensure that, she doesn't take a large number of clients - less than 10, I'd guess. And you can't beat her prices! Considering how close campsites are at the campgrounds at Yosemite and how few places dogs can actually go within the park, I knew we'd both be better off with Kensie having a blast playing and making new friends at Bonnie's. My mastiff, Luke has been going to Sleep Over Rover boarding facilities for awhile during our travels. Being new to Angels Camp, I checked out two of the in town dog boarding businesses but didn't like either one due to the lack of running/play space for the dogs and the fact that the dogs don't get to socialize with each other. I found Bonnie and her Big Creek Boarding through yelp. Even though Groveland is a good 45 min to an hour away, I wouldn't hesitate to drive the distance in order for my dog to stay there. Bonnie has a huge (maybe half an acre to an acre) safely fenced in area, complete with toys and kiddie pools, for the dogs to run at will. Luke loved it here. He has his own door to go outside or to stay inside where it is cool. I love my dog and would not bring him anywhere if he wasn't safe. Bonnie is a dog person, very likable and I knew Luke would be safe and have fun. I highly recommend bringing your dog here! read more

I recently moved to Groveland in order to better run a guide service in Yosemite. I had no idea who to contact about boarding my golden mix, Yogi; but I was told about Bonnie and Big creek Boarding and I gave her a call. Bonnie was quick to get back to me and VERY helpful.She told me about her below average rates, and upon visiting her location I was impressed by her above quality facility. Big Creek Boarding only takes 5-6 well-behaved dogs at a time. The dogs all get outside time daily at no extra cost. The outside area is large and offers many retreats and places for exploration and play. But most of all it is all about Bonnie! She cares for the dogs like they are her own, and this is special! On another note, Bonnie is extremely accomodating and flexible. She also doesn't let cost be an issue. After a two week visit with bonnie; I was pleasantly suprised that she cut my bill by almost 25 percent from her already low costs.
