He has informal tastings almost every weekend where you can sample some wines while Dave leads a very informative discussion. You usually need to sign up in advance for the tastings. Don't go expecting some glitzy wine store with the snotty help walking around in striped aprons. It is a cluttered little warehouse the organization of which is only known to Dave. The bottles are not labeled with a price but Dave will know it, and it will usually be a bargain. Let him know your preferences and he will track something down you will like in your price range. Once he gets to know your tastes he will make recommendations whenever you visit. Get on his weekly email list to learn about upcoming tastings and features of the week. If you are a down to earth wine lover you owe it to yourself to visit Brightwines.

I go to get beer tonight..9:50 I don't have my ID I never have my ID. I'm never carded here because I'm here all the time. Of course they card me, no compromise I can't show them a picture of my ID..of my passport. Now I understand this, this is the rule to legally buy liquor..however once again I am here all the time. Frustrating but understandable. I run home get my ID make it back at 9:59.. doors locked and they just laugh at me from inside. Laughed at me. Tried to show the woman it was me that was just here, she won't look at me and the gentleman just laughs at me. This is the most disrespected I've ever felt as a customer. I know my business doesn't matter to you in the scheme of things but my family and I will make the drive down the road a bit further now. Hopefully they won't laugh at me.

In fact, you can make a pretty impressive bar crawl from the Polar Lounge. All along Seventh Avenue in North St Paul are bars, taverns and dives.
