This company is apparently the new landscaper for the McDonald's in Whitsett, NC, and my experience with them was completely unacceptable. While I was standing outside my car talking to a friend, one of their workers came from behind the car next to mine and blew grass clippings directly into our faces, into my open car, and all over my dashboard, floor, door panels, clothes, shoes, and hair. We were yelling and waving our hands to get his attention, but he didn't stop right away. When he finally saw us, he just turned around and walked off -- no apology, no acknowledgment. I called the McDonald's right away and was given the landscaping company's contact info. I spoke to a woman who said she'd pass the message to a supervisor, but no one ever followed up. Totally unprofessional behavior and even worse customer service. If you care about courtesy and respect, I wouldn't recommend this company for any kind of work. read more

I've been using Living Landscapes for years and they always do top notch work. They helped me get my drainage rerouted to the back of my property and fixed the grading when I first moved into my house in 2018 and my yard looks fantastic because of their weed control service and annual seeding. They also do a full service trimming and mulching for me every year. read more

My wife and I are bewildered by the unexpected unprofessional behavior of PD Ross, the owner. A business with a reputation such as theirs, over 35 years in the area, should not "GHOST" customers. Several months ago, Living Landscapes' in-house designer, Dave, met with us; an experienced, amusing, and talented landscape planner. He provided some great ideas in a timely manner, and drew up some very attractive plans. We met twice with PD Ross, and were impressed with his bid, his tentative date and his cooperative demeanor in making some changes. We presumed we had found the right company. Then, a couple months went by, and we made attempts at contacting him in anticipation of our installation, but he evaded and ignored every text, email and voice message. He literally vanished. Dave got paid for his design...and we moved on...and found an outstanding landscaper right in our neighborhood. I felt it necessary to write this review, being very disappointed in the service we received. A company can't be that busy not to tell potential customers they're too booked out to service them. The lack of integrity stunned us, but we're glad we found a better contractor. I won't even buy plants from Living Landscapes in the future. They totally lost my trust. After moving to our new home in Graham in 2020, we decided it was time to update our landscaping. After shopping around, we fell in love with Living Landscapes and its many knowledgeable employees. I love visiting with Michelle at the garden center for annuals and veggies every year. And PD has helped us update our landscaping with a water feature, patio and walkway, landscape lighting, fixing drainage issues in our back yard, and the addition of gorgeous plants. We have also had them taking care of the maintenance since moving in and have been very pleased with the results! Everyone we've worked with has been great!! read more

I contacted Living Landscapes after receiving a very high water bill - presuming I had a leak someplace. No leak - just older technology that was using much more water than necessary. Mike was awesome and explained everything to me. I decided to replace all of the heads for heads with new technology. He and his crew also moved some heads that were too close to the house and installed a drip system in my flower garden. I live in a neighborhood that is serviced by Living Landscapes. Their lawn mowing is adequate. However, last year, I wanted to get some extra work done and was willing to pay for it. I contacted the office and never heard anything back. So finally I got my son to come help me. Then just recently, they mulched the flower beds in our front yards. I left THREE messages, two with a person in the office, one on their answering service that I would like to get some extra mulch in another small flower bed around my mailbox. I was assured that someone would contact me. I STILL haven't heard from anyone, and it's been several weeks. I am really frustrated with them. I have NEVER written a negative review - not until now. Living Landscapes installed outdoor lights for us in April. The gentleman we worked with named Kevin was professional, did a good job and told us there was a lifetime warranty on the lights which cost about $2,000. Two of the lights were not working in December. We called and were told Kevin was no longer working with the company, but someone would come out. Someone came out, replaced two bulbs and sent us a bill for $82. I called and spoke with the owner, PD Ross, who told me he had never had anyone call and question a bill. I told him that businesses should state in advance, what the service fee is. He told me, and I quote "it is crappy not to pay a bill" and hung up. I was stunned, surprised and disappointed at this level of unprofessionalism. This is not the way to run a business and retain customers. I was willing to pay the bill, just wanted clarification for the future. Now, after being so blatantly hung up on - not so much. I decided to check YELP and I see there is another negative review posted on 10/25/22. In case, Mr. Ross reads this - decent manners is always a key to good business practices! read more
