I went and spoke with someone who claimed to be the manager and he said "thank you for your opinions."(regarding 40 degrees being too warm for kombucha)" but we met the federal standards..." he insisted because it's illegal to store it above 40 that 40 degrees is sufficient. This is a life destroying organization. I had purchased a rotton tomato by mistake, and they wouldn't replace it, they wanted my to go through a formal return process for a silly tomato. I drank a probiotic drink from there and have experienced significant gut issues immediately following. I'm pretty sure it was the drink I bought from T that warm refrigerator. read more

From my 5-year old: "The Co-op is the best!" Our family has some dietary restrictions/allergies and the co-op has the best selection of specialty foods in town. We love the atmosphere, variety, bulk offerings, and unique brands. the staff are amazing and so helpful. We also appreciate their efforts to work with local ranchers and farmers. The incredible baked goods are an added bonus. We can't help but buy one (or four) pastries every time we shop. Laramie is so lucky to have this incredible grocer! read more

I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews! What a wonderful little shop, and a definite standout in Laramie. I hit up the co-op every week before heading to Safeway or Albertson's to make sure I get as much of my grocery list as possible here. They offer a seasonal and varying array of local eggs & dairy, organic produce (some of which is local!), organic prepared foods, organic home goods, and dry goods. Just because they had lacinto kale last week doesn't mean they'll have it today; they switch up their produce often. This is also a great place to find ethnic foods like harissa (Moroccan red sauce), fish sauce, pho noodles, different varieties of couscous, etc. Though I am neither vegan nor gluten free, they offer lots of options in these categories, including vegan cheeses, lentil chips, and gluten free baked goods. One of my favorite features of the co-op is their bulk dry goods section in the back. You can stock up on things like raw nuts, rice, pilaf blends, pasta, and candy by the pound. They also have a large selection of dried herbs. A couple notes - all their meat products are local, but frozen, i.e. don't buy a roast here if you need it cooked for dinner in an hour. On the other hand, the best bacon I've ever had came from here! Also important to note - no alcoholic beverages are sold here.That said, they have some yummy tea, juice, and soda options (mostly unrefrigerated). Everyone who works here is super nice and excited to help you find what you need. Service is A MILLION TIMES BETTER than Safeway, though you do pay for it, even with the 5% co-op member discount. Overall, a great local grocery I'm thankful to have in Laramie! read more

A wonderful beacon of light on my cross country road trip! A tiny gem jam packed with goodies, got all my treats for the next few days in one fell swoop. I had no idea Wyoming held such a diamond of a coop on an otherwise bleak journey through the state The dude working was absolutely lovely. So nice very friendly even offered some spots to put us up if we didn't want to keep driving!! I will be stopping here on my way back to the bay for sure. read more

A great community-owned food co-op. Definitely worth the annual membership fee. They have some of everything... if you don't find exactly what you're looking for, they'll get it for you. I love to go here and browse for new items... and apparently they love to introduce new items. You won't be disappointed. Also, they just moved to a bigger location the next block over... you can enter from the old parking lot or the entrance on 2nd street. Very nice, new space. read more

When I first went into Big Hollow about 4 years ago, I bought only a few items. Over the months and years I have progressively done more of my grocery shopping there until I now buy very little at the large grocery stores. I love the high quality, healthy food selections in Big Hollow. I may have to pay a little more for some items, but I would rather that my money go for healthy foods than to a health care provider who has to treat me for unhealthy diet-related disorders. As an aside, the people who work there are great and I usually leave the store with a smile on my face. read more

This place was a dream. I loved all the specialty items and the bins of grains and herbs on the wall. They also had discounted over ripe bananas which is perfect for me as I love them a bit softer! I will say their fresh produce section was lacking slightly but for such a small place I don't blame them, they did the best they could. They also had my favorite Noosa yogurt which is hard to find sometimes. Employees were always friendly. read more

Great selection (especially for a small-ish space), bulk foods (includuing liquids like honey, oil, etc), reasonable prices, friendly & helpful staff. Stopped here on a road trip. Vegan heaven. (FYI - some things are vegan but not labeled as such, check ingredients list.) I forgot my bag and they *gave* me a reusable bag because they were out of the reusables they sell! Sure...some of the stuff is overpriced, but luckily, the produce is not. And given that there's no other place to get quality organic (and often, local) produce in Laramie, this is a bonus. In addition, the bulk items are excellent in both price and selection. I've also found that many of the frozen fruits and veggies are comparable to the regular grocery stores in price, only the selections at BH are organic. That said, five bucks for a dozen eggs is a little crazy, even if they are local. Overall, though, it's a good store with a nice selection...just gotta hunt for the bargains. read more

The Big Hollow Food Coop is a great place to purchase organic, non-GMO food and local produce and dairy products. The staff is friendly, and they will place special orders for you as long as one of their suppliers carries the item. I shop there once a week, and I have never been disappointed with my purchases there. Oh yeah, you can get delicious sushi made fresh daily if you get there before they are sold out! read more
