I basically never return anything but had a great customer service experience with Kim and the GM this morning. 10 days ago, I ordered 12 jars of creamy almond butter over DoorDash, their in-house brand Open Nature, and I thought I was getting their stir-version, where the oil sits on top and you gotta stir stir stir, I wanted that because it contained just almonds and salt, but little did I know there was only one of those in-stock , and little did I know my Dasher would substitute 10 with the creamy *no-stir* version that had been "emulsified" with palm oil, all I knew is she was subbing the 11th with a crunchy version (that also had palm oil, which I didn't know...) so long story short only 1 of the 12 jars was actually what I wanted, and I didn't realize it til 10 days later when my Costco almond butter ran out and it was time to crack into Safeway's. I open it and it looks like Jiff peanut butter, so I read the ingredients label and turns out I've been bamboozled. To my Dasher's credit, the stir and no-stir creamy versions look nearly identical besides the oil at the top, a small "no stir" label, and the tiny ingredients list, and she doesn't know my fairly strict dietary preferences. But I thought I wouldn't be able to return FOOD over a week later, gave it a shot anyways and they were perfectly reasonable, willing to give me my money back or an exchange. I was mentally prepared to just eat the loss and donate it to the local soup kitchen, but instead I walked out with a variety of all natural Teddie's Peanut Butter, containing just peanuts or peanuts and salt. AI was telling me the combination of this 12 jar almond butter order being over a week ago AND ordered through DoorDash AND being food meant I had a snowball's chance in hell of getting ANYTHING done there and yet I got EVERYTHING done and I'm really happy with the way they handled things. I suggest you check you receipt each visit. This store is notorious for mislabeling and overcharging. Then, the manager will insist you bring back the actual item in order to give you a credit even though you have the recipt showing the overcharge. ridiculous. read more

Safeway overcharges me every single time I go there. I wish I were exaggerating. Years ago, I started only buying products that were on sale only. I still get charged more. I've gone in a Safeway store for one item, and they still overcharge. Every Safeway store I've been in for my sale items all "Ripoff". It's never in my favor. The Customer service to get overcharge back is not always open. I could write a couple of pages worth for reasons why I hate Safeway. Mainly, what I care about is not being overcharged. There are other reasons also. They are also high priced. I drive three times longer to go to Fred Meyer for 95% of my shopping. read more

Been frequenting this Safeway while living in Laramie for a few weeks. Staff is always great and store is always well kept. For being a smaller store they seem to have all the things I am after. Starbucks employees are also great and found myself coming here almost daily for some caffeine. Way easier than the other Starbucks location and less crowded. read more

This could be the best market in Laramie, if they had decent service. Not that it's a lofty goal, because Laramie is not exactly a culinary destination... So, their produce is typically good, selection (for Laramie) is above the rest, pricing decent, but, when you try to check out......every single time you have to suffer one, if not two visits from an attendant. No exaggeration, we always say that if it wasn't for the checkout, it would be our go-to store in Laramie. But it persists...... read more

Not bad. I just feel that Walmart had more of a variety. Laramie isn't a huge town, but this just wasn't on the side of town that I lived to make an extra trip over. Four stars for selection, but five stars for the staffer who helped me find yogurt covered pretzels. Safeway - give compliments to the new, friendly, blonde female who is working the floor. Grocery store grocery store right? Well mostly But this Safeway has free WiFi. When you're in town visiting, and the only internet available at Moms is dial up AOL, you'll appreciate that you can take your laptop to Safeway and sit at a table my the in-store Starbucks. Enjoy your cuppa Joe and check your email. Or if you've a phone with internet, get that faster wifi connection speed. Beyond that, it's a small town grocery store. The pharmacy is nice and filled the prescriptions correctly (not a small thing after Albertson's repeatedly screwed the pooch on that one) and the produce section has relatively good stock. read more

My car battery died because of freezing weather.at Safeway. My dogs were in the car I was getting ingredients for nachos for dinner. I had jumper cables the first customer said no to jump my car so two employees took it into their own hands and both tried to help seperatly. I do most of my shopping here. The pharmacy is great, the food court too! BEST affordable meat in town! Just stay away from (I believe his name is) Dave who works in the produce section ... good Lord dont bother him! I asked for a price once and he interrupted me inbetween when I said "well but the sign says the sale ended yesterday so im just trying to make sure" ... man did he get mad! " I KNOW HOW TO DO MY JOB, DONT YOU TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB" and he went on for bout 5 minutes when I just left him standing. At the cashiers it rang up twice as expensive. When I told them about my experience they gave me the sales price though. on another occasion he ran over my daughter, he went out of his way to run her over so he could yell at me loudly "YOU SHOULDNT LEAVE YOUR KID UNATTENDED! I was shopping this weekend on my weekly visit to Safeway, but this time I left the store feeling uneasy and disappointed. I was walking down an aisle with my boyfriend and our 10 month old son when I slipped on a large oil spill in the middle of the lane. My boyfriend and my baby managed to miss it. However, I did a half-split with my legs, drenched one of my pant legs and faux Birkenstock sandals (which I had to throw away), and dropped my phone face down in the oil. I salvaged my phone and my boyfriend had to clean it off with his jacket, and I found a nearby napkin station to wipe my foot and pants off with. I walked through the store with oil on my foot. There was an employee who witnessed the entire thing right near the deli, yet he did not say anything to me although I expressed my discontent. He didn't offer to help, not say a word. There was no "caution, wet" sign out on display at the time. He found a sign and placed it near the spill after he saw what happened yet still said it did anything. I went to the customer service station after I checked out my items, where the assistant called the general store manager. When she arrived, she asked if I was okay and said she was sorry, but she ended up giving me two expired coupons to use on my next visit. I was hurt emotionally and embarrassed as I cleaned myself off in front of the busy store and customers walking by me. Just overall the worst experience I've had in a store in my entire 24 years of life. read more

Stopped in here to get some ice while traveling through Laramie last week. To my disbelief the price was too high for a small 7lb bag ($2.59). I can get it cheaper 30 miles up the road in Rock River at the General store amazingly. The self checkout lanes are so narrow another person cannot get around you if they have a cart- WTF are you kidding me? The clerk working the self checkout took forever to come and fix the error that flagged us for not putting each individual bag on the scale after we scanned it. Took forever to purchase 4 bags of ice that were overpriced to begin with. Won't ever be back here again after this awful experience. read more

I loath Safeways. But this store is completely un-Safeway like. The selection is excellent and included certain specialty items unavailable at premium stores on the coast. The beef was very high quality; the strips steaks we got were delicious, even though not marked choice. The vegetables were very nice also. The staff was helpful and we were checked out quickly. I wish we had the Laramie Safeway at home in the reasonably affluent bay area CA suburb in which I reside, rather than the lower end Safeway where I never shop. Checkout line is always long and self-check out machines are always having problems! During my self-checkout, the machine needed assistance more than five times, then every time it took more than one minute for a staff to come. Will never go to Safeway! read more

For three weeks I have tried to order a Turkey Dinner to be picked up by my brother and his wife who are elderly and medically challenged for Thanksgiving. I live in CA. I've ordered pizza and other items from other providers in Laramie without any problem, and they even deliver them, but apparently Safeway just can's seem to get this figured out. I've been told I would be called back, - that's if I can get someone on the line. I've been hung up on after holding for over 10 minutes at long distance rates. Believe me, I will not be ordering my dinner here in CA from Safeway if this is the kind of customer service I can expect. I am not impressed!!!!!!! read more

I only go here since its close to my house, otherwise I would NEVER set foot in here, ever. Some of the employees are rude, sale things usually sold out and the checkout lines are ALWAYS horrible! I've been here at 7am and as late as 10:45, always bad. It takes longer to pay than it does to get the stuff you need!!! If you come during the early part of the week (Monday-Thursday) be prepared to be practically run down by smug stay at home mothers or VERRRRRYYY cranky old people that use electric scooters and don't care if they run into you or not! Clerks are friendly, and selections are good. Pharmacy techs are rude, and I may have to switch pharmacies for that reason.
