Brought in two pronghorns that were quartered in the field. Seemed awesome at first, great price upfront and had a taxidermist on site to prep the heads for euro mounts. Picked up our meat and one of us got zero tenderloins back when both were brought in, the other got one tenderloin back and it was one serving size despite both being brought in. Both of us were told "shot in hind quarters" and the "meat was dirty", which it was certainly not. We take great care of our meat and a little hair from field butchering shouldn't be a problem for any respected processor. Both of us got maybe 15-20 lbs back off each pronghorn which were adult bucks. Feeling ripped off, but it was a 2-day turnaround for meat and the head so that's why this isn't 1 star. read more

They all went above & beyond & appear to work around the clock for hunters. 7:45 pm my evening harvest was hung, processed wrapped & packed by 9 am next day. Even scraps got packed for my fido A High end processing plant, affordable dry wrapped ice, plus a store full of goodies & amazing meats. Reasonable prices & super friendly team. Don't bring your meat here. I usually butcher my own animals, but my hunting partner and I had travelled from out of state and still had some days of hunting left, and we were happy to see this place is a one stop shop for everything we needed. Our happiness ended when we picked up our meat. The prices are low because you'll get dinged on all sorts of accessorial charges, and you'll get back way less meat than you think. Check the other low reviews and they say similar things. I brought a nice sized antelope buck here, and I received back 10 lbs of meat + 6 of sausage. I brought them two perfect backstraps, two tenderloins, and a heart. I got back 1.3 lbs of loin and were told there weren't any given to them. The heart was just gone. They told me it was a hind quarter shot which it wasn't and that the meat was very dirty which it also wasn't. When I challenged them on this they told me I could talk to the butcher. The year prior I butchered my small, yearling antelope myself and got 24 lbs. a guy next to me in line showed me what he got off a small doe antelope and it was way more. He agreed that they obviously messed something up and didn't want to admit it. Never again. read more

Took in a large mule deer for processing minus back straps and tenderloins. Ordered all burger with beef fat. They gave me back 27 lbs. WTF? Asked where the rest was and was told "Shot in hind quaters". BS. What a ripoff. Mistakenly did not insist on preweighing but should have been AT LEAST double that amount. No recourse other than this review but will NEVER do business there again. Do not use Big Horn Meat Cutting. Zero stars read more

Avoid this place unless you want CRAP meat cutting ! I came to the area to hunt elk and had little choice as I had no where to butcher my elk. I am a very experienced meat cutter and chef. The owner Jeff, gave me a hard time from the start, customer satisfaction is not in his vocabulary! Way to aggressive and a true amateur in operating a small business. Top it off with no ability to communicate with the "girls" writing the orders. I received my meat via shipping only to unwrap the cheapest cardboard boxes (one had been busted open and re-taped not their fault !) lightly packed w/ newspaper allowing the meat to bounce around while being shipped across the country. The meat was frozen solid but all the vac-seals were broken and bags were busted open! To top it off, I got 4 twenty pound bags of "Trim" meat, which one I thawed for making sausage, it had two roasts stuck in the "Trim" bag! At this point I was Steaming! I see elk meat as true GOLD, its one of the best meats in the world! It's a shame Big Horn Meats doesn't see it the same as I do! STAY AWAY from this place at all costs, they have a bunch of inexperienced people cutting your meat that have no instruction in proper meat cutting technique! May be they were busy but thats no reason to do a poor job especially at almost $400! read more

Took a deer into the shop around 10am to get processed, I asked when it could be done and they told me it would ready at 9am the next morning frozen solid, vacuum sealed, and ready to go( I clarified this with them three times, because I was headed to Montana, and was going to finalize my plans based on the pickup time they gave me) . I arrived the next day around noon to pick up my deer, only to be told that it hadn't been cut, I had backpacked the deer out, and it was caped, quartered, and in game bags, apparently they are not intelligent enough to look for a deer in the fridge that isn't hanging on the rack. They tried to tell me they couldn't cut it right now because they were cutting beef. I explained to them that I couldn't come back because I had already made plans based on the promise time they had given me. They looked at me like a deer in the headlights, I told them to cut it and put everything that would be grind in a bag and I would grind it myself when I got home. I then saw them dump my deer onto a small table in the back room that I can only hope had been cleaned recently. I came back 30 mins later, and by some miracle the deer had been cut, and vacuum sealed. At the register I asked how much it would be, and they had the nerve to try and charge me full price, I refused to pay full because they didn't grind anything, and the full price includes grinding, portioning, and vacuum sealing of the ground meat. I have only eaten a couple packages so far, but what I have was haphazardly, and incorrectly cut. I normally process my own game, and take great pride in my workmanship, these people clearly do not! I will never use them again, and will advise anyone considering using them as a processor to find somebody else read more
