3.5 stars Finally had a chance to come here in July. It's easy to find and makes you forget that there's even a main road nearby. We walked around the farm to take a few pictures (it's the perfect photo opp and you can even book professional photo sessions here during sunflower season). Little shade here during the summer. You pick everything yourself (which seemed a little pricey for a bunch of flowers to add to a vase), but we didn't buy anything this time. We saw chickens and goats, as well as a territorial goose at the far edge of the property. This farm is run by the Wagner family that runs Wagner's Farm in Corrales. They also have local honey and cute little gifts for sale. Maybe next time I'll come back when the pumpkins and chile are ready. 2022 #33

Very cute and friendly! This place is a little out of the way in a nice neighborhood big area with sunflowers and pumpkins to walk through. As soon as you enter the gate you are greeted with options to purchase like salsa, fresh honey, apples, watermelons, etc. You can also hand pick sunflowers from the field and purchase a vase for them. We did the 5 flower bouquet for 15$ and picked out some pumpkins. They had many options from mini to gigantic! They also have many extra spots for photos like chairs sofas cars and tractors! Great price and experience.

Cutest little farm with you-pick lacebark and sunflowers and tons of chili's. Honey and apples. The sales clerk was a great help choosing chili's to roast. Hats and Chilis to hang got our vote. They're also loaded with pumpkins for fall. Right on the road, you can't miss them!

It was so much fun picking our own green chile! While it rained on us the entire time, it was definitely a great experience! The chile is affordable as well. When we got home we roasted, peeled and cooked our chile in an enchilada casserole. The chile was just own I liked it., all flavor with just a little kick!

I really enjoy participating in U-picks. First time picking chiles! -- First week of fall, so even though the sun was in all its amazing hotness, a nice cool breeze smothered the heat during our hour of work picking up chile and taking selfies and videos... you know, documenting stuff for the posterity! I recommend to not wear shorts since a strange insect can bite you unexpectedly, protect yourself from the sun wearing a cap and sunblock, bring a bottle of water and a reusable bag for taking home your harvest. Otherwise, guaranteed you'll have an amazing time. -- Make it a date! (Insert winking face here).

Great morning at the farm for U-Pick chilis! Park alongside the road and walk in through the front entrance to grab your basket before heading to the fields. They have mild, medium, hot and extra hot chilis for the picking (plants were loaded), or you can grab a sack of pre-picked peppers (but really, where's the fun in that??). Once you picked your peppers, head to one of the roasters and take in the yummy, smokey, delicious smell as they tumble for a couple minutes. They also have salsa for purchase and other fresh produce by the entrance - zucchini, squash, peaches, apples, watermelons, cantaloupes (ended up picking one of the best melons we've ever had). Reasonable prices and a great way to spend a Saturday morning (arrive early to get good parking, picking and a good spot in the roasting line).

Love!!! My brother and I went to purchase the very sweet cantaloupe, the crisp large cucumbers and super hot peppers all locally grown. Then we decided to do the pick it your self (red and green local/organic chile) soooo glad we did. It was such a fun and neat experience, I highly suggest this to everyone, It's very family friendly. We picked a perfect blend of red and green. Thank you to the Wagner family for such an amazing experience! And yes, they roast it too.

When we walked onto the patio and took in those sweeping views of the Sandias, I was ready to love this place. Los Poblanos has all the ingredients of a truly special dining experience: a gorgeous setting, a thoughtful farm-to-table ethos, and a menu that promises something above the ordinary. Which is exactly why the evening's annoying missteps were so disappointing. Service was well intentioned but unpolished. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and, at times, unfamiliar with the menu -- a problem when guests are asking genuine questions about the food and wine. We ordered bread which came before our drinks were served. Wine service was inconsistent. I ordered an Albariño by the glass - 6 oz. My sister ordered the Cabernet listed on the menu as a recommended pairing for her entrée, priced at $11. After we placed our drink orders, the waiter returned to inform her that the menu price was incorrect -- the wine was actually $18. She agreed to proceed. He then asked whether she wanted "a half glass or a full glass," which is an oddly imprecise question at a restaurant whose menu specifies pours in 3, 6, and 9 oz increments. She said half glass. What arrived was 3 oz of wine in a small serving carafe, which the waiter simply poured into her glass -- no bottle presented, no taste offered. My own Albariño, by contrast, was brought to the table in the bottle with a proper taste before pouring. The disparity in service between the two of us was striking. A simple, clear statement -- "3 oz of this wine is $18, not $11; would you still like it?" -- would have resolved everything cleanly. Instead, the vague "half or full glass" framing left my sister without the information she needed to make an informed choice. For what it's worth, the wine itself was extraordinarily tannic -- borderline undrinkable -- and I would have sent it back. My nephew ordered a top shelf whiskey. The waiter told him "we don't have that". My nephew said "it's on your menu" to which the waiter responded "oh, let me check on that". There seemed to be too many instances of the waiter running back to the bar to check on stuff. Anyway, it was available. The waiter apologized. We ordered the bread which was served before our drinks arrived. Food took about an hour which is fine - I don't have an issue with that but during that time we never saw the waiter again. I ordered the soup of the day - potato and leek which was delicious. Followed by the blackberry salad, which was my main course. Both arrived simultaneously, with the salad placed in front of me and the soup set to the side as an afterthought. At a restaurant at this price point, the expectation that soup precedes salad is not an eccentricity -- it is simply correct service. When I expressed my surprise, the servers seemed genuinely puzzled, which suggests this may be a training gap rather than an isolated incident. As for the salad itself -- it was pleasant, but pleasant is not enough here. The blackberry salad was the kind of thing you might enjoy at a well-run casual chain: competently assembled, inoffensive, and forgettable. At a farm-to-table restaurant with access to exceptional local ingredients, I expect the plate to reflect that -- more intentional presentation, more layered flavors, something that is more elevated than what was presented. This one didn't. The gap between the setting and what landed on the table was wider than it should have been. My sister and nephews ordered the filet mignon and rib eye. Both arrived pre-sliced -- a presentation trend that has made its way into fine dining, though one that divides opinion. My concern, beyond personal preference, is practical: sliced meat loses heat faster, and at roughly $80 per entrée, guests should receive their steak in the condition that best showcases it. The quality was good, not exceptional. Los Poblanos is a restaurant with genuine promise and a setting that few can match. The concept is right; the execution needs work. The issues I encountered -- inconsistent wine service, course sequencing, and a discombobulated waiter-- are not kitchen problems. They are fixable. I hope the restaurant takes that seriously, because the bones here are excellent and the experience should be too.

Open Space hosts the occasional summer festival/educational class, so make sure to check out the schedule. Like the Petroglyph national monument and the bosque bike trail running to Alameda, this little slice of calm offers a great getaway from the bustle of Albuquerque's west side, which is consistently expanding and growing, and rarely paying attention to the speed limit on Coors. Just sayin'. Duck in here, it's easy to find, just look for the skeletal, colorful public art sculpture.

If I'm looking for a term to describe my visits to Mandy's Farm, I'm going with Idyllic. The property is true country livin' and from what I understand, that's exactly what this nonprofit that assists folks with developmental disabilities -- chiefly, those on the autism spectrum -- is going for. What an incredible organization. And when you think about it, of course, simplifying is the solution. Individuals on the spectrum tend, generally, to really struggle with the peripheral, what's going on around them, ambient noise and motion and shadow, and the urban everyday is absolutely clattering with these distractions. Mandy's Farm provides a permanent residence -- it's a home, first and foremost -- for people who need to take shelter from the storm. Residents learn to simply live, whether that's cooking or growing food or riding horses, the main facility includes a specially designed swimming pool for rehabilitation, the farm provides tactile experiences and interactions with nature. How friggin' genius, man. Essentially, the story goes that the farm was named after Mandy, her parents were concerned about what Mandy would do as she matured and they got older, if she might struggle to handle the busy world around her, and so they built this farm, and Mandy started her own little business, E is for Eggs (she loves Sesame Street), and the farm has grown to support many people, a job training program, and produce they sell to local growers markets. You can experience the idyllic by volunteering your time, any time of the year. Just contact them.

Very off-putting. No one was at the front of the store. We found our way to the back counter. After about five minutes a young man came out and asked what we needed. My wife said, "We need some sliced meats for a sandwich platter". The man went to the back for a minute and came out with a piece of scratch paper and pen. "Yes, we would like 1lb. of roast beef, 1lb. of ham and 1lb. of turkey for a sandwich platter", my wife said. He seemed a bit confused by our order, but began writing it down. He then asked, "Do you want smoked turkey"? "Oh yes", we said. I asked how thick their sandwich cut was and he replied, "Regular sandwich cut". I figured, okay this is Keller's, they certainly know what that is. We will have this ready in two days. That was fine as we knew they were very busy this time of year. I was excited when my wife picked up the order and returned home. I took the meat out to cut it up to fit the rolls we had. All of the three packages had meat sliced at over a quarter inch thick. That's sandwich sliced? The roast beef was very dry with no color to it. The ham was NOT ham, but some other pork cut with little pork taste and also very dry. The turkey was NOT smoked, but at least had good flavor and moisture. I was very disappointed considering Keller's reputation. Two notes: My ex-wife worked for Keller's in the 80s. She would bring home some of the best meats I had ever tasted. Secondly, a good friend of mine was the head chef at a well known sea food restaurant here in town. He once told me, "If you ever go to buy fresh fish and you smell ammonia when you walk in, turn around and walk out!" I am so disappointed with the service we got and the meat we ordered, I cannot see ever going back to Keller's.
