(I hate writing a bad review.) After reading the many reviews on yelp/google and seeing mostly positive results, I decided to contact Big J for detailing services for my 2011 Nissan Titan and my fathers 6 month old Toyota TRD Tundra. Big j arrived on time and began working on the vehicles simultaneously with a helper, note, the titan was in rough shape and I told him that ahead of time. But the tundra was brand new and clean I just figured it would be a nice thing to have my dads truck detailed to keep it in tip top shape. After coming home hours after work, excited to get into a clean truck... I noticed paste left over every single plastic surface on both trucks. That stuff doesn't come out and my new tundra for my father has paste embedded that won't come out but will rather need trim paint on all black panels. Dash and gear shifters were sopping wet with interior shine, the interior was clean (and that alone was an extreme accomplishment) but when I went to grab the steering wheel I was met with more interior shine that made my hands slide right off. Wheels were still filthy with brake dust, headlights and taillights have outlines of compound... this was extremely upsetting. I have a line on the titan on the front fender where someone tried to buff and ended up BURNING the clear coat on a scratch. So I immediately contacted Big J, he apologizes and says the next week he will contact me for a redo on both trucks... That never happened. So I'm stuck with two full size pickups that will need to be re detailed by another company with the sole purpose of damage control. We all have bad days. Maybe this was one for the team at big j detail. But I try to right the wrongs if I have one. It's only a few hundred bucks that I won't be getting back. read more

I followed up prior to my appointment to confirm he was coming - no respond. 20 mins past my appointment time, I texted him and said to just cancel my appointment since he was a no show....20 mins later he responded saying "Ok This is unfortunate because I was planning to be a recurring customer given the other good reviews I read. So I gave him a call and he said he would come to my house. So he came on the appointment date and did a great job on my car. I had a car wax and some detailing on my car. I had to go go somewhere else for emergency and left the car the for him since I felt that I could trust him. The neighbor was watching him working on my car from her window and came out after he was done with his job. She said the car was too shiny so she had to come out and took a closer look at the car lol. I could tell how much effort he put on his job (both he and his coworker were working on my car for a couple of hours from inside to outside; when I came back home, both were still working on it). Destroyed my dash using acetone to clean adhesive and ruined the paint. They didnt bother saying anything, took my money and ran. When I called him to ask him why he destroyed my dash and did a bad job he didn't have much to say. They have since refused to acknowledge the damage done. For the past 2 years, I've noticed Big J and his crew cleaning cars in the back lot at the Atrium. I office here and enjoy the great natural environment of the koi ponds, open courtyard and views of Camelback Mountain. After an introduction from of his biggest fans and clients, an Interior Designer in the building, I got Big J's phone number and background. He had the car wash that was a fixture for years on the intersection of 44th & Indian School Rd in Arcadia. There is now a brand new Chick fil A at the same location. Anyway, I noted that he came by every week or two and made it a point to schedule with him in the future. Fast forward to last week, he was there on Tuesday and I left my keys with him while I went up and took care of clients for 5 hours. After I was done with work, my shiny, brand new looking, Explorer was waiting in the back lot. He did a great job with both the interior and exterior. I had my 250 Ford Diesel detailed yesterday. Once he finished it started to rain so he had me pull in the garage so he could dry it again. Once I pulled it out of the garage where I could see better I was shocked. The windows were all smeared up, there was still dirt on the body and stains on the seats. I text him on Friday 2 hours before my appointment to confirm he is still coming. No reply. I called and had to leave a voice mail about an hour before my appointment to see if he is still coming. My 2007 4 Door Wrangler had been sitting idle outside for about 8 months due to an expensive repair that was needed. Got the repair done a couple of days ago, after which my wife let me know that she would not ride in it until it was completely detailed. I contacted Big J's based on his yelp reviews hoping to have him come to my work, unfortunately he was completely booked. I called him later in the day to see about coming out to my house in Fountain Hills the next day. He agreed. Let me tell you, you get what you pay for with Big J. My Jeep looks incredible. He did a superb job, you would never be able to tell that this vehicle sat for as long as it did in the Arizona sun, wind and rain. Sorry forgot to mention I always leave the windows out.
