So to start my review I have to confess that I am not a BBQ maven nor expert. I grew up in Brooklyn and our access to BBQ was limited. I have had some amazing BBQ in my life, in the south and southwest of the country but I am not a huge fan of the genre. I was driving to my dad's place and passed the little hut on wheels. I stopped in to check it out and there was a couple eating food at a table and they had good things to say. The places is in a small open field with some tables and some tarps covering them. The tables have napkins and hand cleaner...you will need it. The next day I took my dad, also a BBQ novice, to Big Kevs. Big Kev was not around, kinda too bad. The guy behind the counter took our order for a pork sandwich and brisket. We waited a few minutes and was handed what must have been a pound plus of meet in each sandwich. We got sweet and regular sauce. I will save you the trouble, get the regular as the sweet is really sweet and no other distinct flavors. Then came the meet. OMFG!!! It was fantastic. The meat was pilled high and moist and tender. My dad does not each much but finished half a brisket and I ate the rest. It was a lot but the meet was so tender and juicy I was in food heaven. I wish Kev were around to thank him. We left a few extra bucks to help them get to competitions. Every year they come with their festival truck and give premium priced underwhelming sized sandwiches of mostly fat. Feel foolish for hoping they would stop this. Looking at the pictures seems like it's not as fatty or short on meat when you go to their main non-festival truck. There's obviously some kind of business savvy behind that, however not everyone can make it out there and when the festival truck comes it's their 1x a year to enjoy it. Big Kev makes the best BBQ for 100 miles (at least!). My wife and I discovered this place while looking for someone to cater our wedding in the Catskills. We drove over and had this food and instantly decided to hire them. Donovan (Kev's cousin I think) did our wedding and it was a HUGE HIT! They later did David Cross' wedding but we were first David! There aren't enough stars to post a proper review for this place! it was amazing! After a weekend of craptastic food at nearby villa roma, the wife and I stopped here on the way home. At first I was turned of by the fact that its a food truck. We saw this truck on our way to our family vacation and decided to give it a try. My husband and I each had a sampler which consisted of pulled pork, brisket, two ribs and a side of your choice. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. Everything was very good. I think their brisket was better than most. The portions were OK for the sampler. The pulled pork sandwich was a big portion. Absolutely delicious BBQ! We had Big Kev's cater my fall wedding. From the beginning Kevin and his staff were wonderful to work with and easy to communicate with. They were able to accommodate our party of 60 people (I've heard they can accommodate many more) with ease. Kevin let us mix & match between trays and all-you-can-eat per-person items so that we could stuff our guests while remaining within our budget. Additionally, he was able to roast a whole pig which was a hit for everyone. The BBQ chicken was tender and moist, pulled pork was soft and seasoned well, and the roasted pig was succulent. All of the various BBQ sauces Big Kev's provided were unique and flavorful. Our guests raved about the baked bean and corn bread, and the small amount of leftover Mac n Cheese I saw, I think that was a hit too. The on-site catering service was perfect. They arrived on time, had dinner ready on time, and cleaned up to the point where there was no trace that their trailer and smoker had ever been on the property. If you're hosting a party in the Catskills (or anywhere they travel to) I would highly recommend Big Kev's BBQ. Next time I'm back in the area, I've been told that the chili is to-die-for. read more

I go 3-4 times a month, as a senior on social security during Covid, it's been a Godsend. Always enjoy their chicken BBQ. Last week instead of receiving my 1/2 chicken which is more than enough for me, it lasts 2meals with a side dish, I received 3 cut up burned chicken parts. Wing burned to a blackened piece of coal. Leg halfway burned the same. And small piece of breast the size of a small bird. Someone put this in the container - how could they pass this on to a customer? I'm very critical of my bbq, but the food at this place gets very high marks. They have perfected their meat craft and have a good selection of sides. The only part of the meal that didn't thrill me was the mac and cheese, however their brisket chili and baked beans were INCREDIBLE! Ideally I would have scored 4.5 stars. Wow great BBQ ! I stopped on my way to bethel woods . Everything I had was great . I had a half rack of ribs , colslaw and beans . the ribs had a lot of meat and were flavorful ! The Suases on the side were good too I wasn't sure what one I liked better . The beans were banging too , reminded me a little of Brunswick stew with BBQ beans . We used Big Kev's to provide the food for a family event that that we threw. Everything was cooked wonderfully! On top of that it only cost us about $360 to feed 30 people. We got chicken, ribs, and two sides for that. We actually didn't need that much food in the end. But everyone was more then happy to take home doggy bags. Stopped a few times this summer and was very happy with the items I bought. The ribs are some of the best I have had and the pulled pork is very good too. I prefer my pork chopped, but even though it's the popular stringy pulled pork, I enjoyed the flavor and quantity. I have tried his beans and sauces, but they have just a tad too much taste of chili powder for my taste, which doesn't make them bad, just not quite right for me.
