The kitchen is awesome, took us a bit to get it open...but Kenneth does an awesome job of having videos and bar codes to scan. Maybe a helpful hint would be to read his emails. The instructions are there, it just took us a few minutes to figure it and watch the videos. Also if you are towards the back of the campground you will be happier if you pack light! We over packed..haha. He has food containers for each tent inside and out. The shower bathrooms are heated, clean and have a beautiful view. There were lots of yard games(pin pong, corn hole) hiking, a white wood movie screen, saunas, hammocks, an outdoor area to do yoga. AND best of all......it was dog friendly! The only CON. ...there is no ice at the campground or near by. The coolers are yeti which does help keep things cold, and the weather was still quite cold at night, so it wasn't truly an issue except to put into drinks I cannot wait to go back to Kenneth's property and spend more time. Kenneth was around and very knowledgeable. helpful. He was willing to help out and helped with anything we needed. This place was awesome and can't wait to return!

When I booked the reservation I did it because it was a place by a lake. I enjoy water front dining and I usually use an ocean for scenery and today I was in a place where I could use a large creek. And since I was not going with any specific expectations that lake hit me like a bucket of wow. I remember like seeing the mouth of the lake going down like actual rocks. Like I was seeing the waters that people raft on with commitment to the outdoors. It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. I went to this place a few weeks ago, and, if I had not make it clear I remember the experience of being with the lake. So go here for that experience and let the rest just fall into place.

We came across Ol Buckaroo off a recommendation by our AirBnB Host. It was so good we came in TWICE for dinner on different days during our stay. I'll highlight both meals I had. But first, the service was great. Both times we came in the restaurant wasn't terribly busy (around 5 PM on weekdays) and we were seated right away. Keep in mind by 6ish/6:30 loads of customers were coming in. The restaurants is cute and small inside with maybe 10-12 tables, but a ton of outdoor seating with mist-fans. We decided to stay inside both times. Our servers who take care of us on both days were attentive and kind, getting us everything we needed quickly and constantly checking on us. Regarding the food: 1st night I ordered the "Pesto Pasta with chicken"--Spaghetti with a creamy basil pesto sauce. To drink I ordered their house-made soda--soda with Watermelon flavoring (yum). You get a large portion of delicious spaghetti (definitely your money's worth) soaked in pesto sauce. The chicken was tender and moist. It was a perfect, carb-filled meal following a long day of hiking. The soda was also tasty and fresh. I highly recommend this dish to anyone coming in with some big-time hunger. The 2nd visit I ordered the "Buckaroo Burger:"--a durham ranch beef patty, American Cheese, lettuce, tomato and Buckaroo sauce. I had a side of fries and to drink, the "Pims Cup:" Sparkling Water, lemon, cucumber, and fruit garnish. On the menu the drink is described as, "slightly sweet and refreshing with a hint of anise flavor," perfectly described and true. You can feel their warmth and kindness within seconds of meeting them. They went above and beyond anything I could have ever asked for. They allowed me to come the night before my wedding and take over the entire bar area to get as much set up as possible. They helped with the entire set up process, and even allowed me to borrow one of their tents to block access to a certain area...they even set it up for us and added lights to make it look beautiful. The day of the wedding, they helped some of the wedding party to get everything into the correct areas and looking beautiful. Deena saved the day by making sure the alter looked amazing when the groom and groomsmen ran out of time. Overall, they provided a wonderful, relaxed wedding experience and attempted to make the day as calm as possible. I would 100% recommend having your wedding or your next event there.
