The fitting rooms had a gate across them and a sign saying they were closed and to visit the fitting rooms at the front of the store. We went to the front to find a sign saying you had to "ring" for service, which we did. An associate came over and told us we couldn't try on clothing as their fitting rooms are closed. My daughter had several things she really wanted, and we had drove a distance, so we made the difficult decision to have her try on clothing over the clothes she was wearing in the middle of the aisle. This less than desirable and embarrassing. There was a lot that couldn't be tried on in the fashion so we had to leave them behind, much to the despair of my daughter. A lot of time was wasted driving here and picking out clothing. I sent an email to corporate and received a reply saying that the fitting rooms are closed and reminding me of their return policy and letting me know returning clothing is "easy." Because, everyone wants to drive over an hour each way, buy clothing they can't try on, and just drive an hour each way back to return them. A clothing store with fitting rooms that you cannot use. Yeah, that makes sense.

If you come after hours or don't want credit, they have donation bins where you can place your items. During the day (closed on Sundays), you can drive up to a covered drop off spot and employees will help you unload your items. They also will give you a receipt, which you can use for tax purposes ("charitable donation"). Done! As for the store itself, it's massive. It can be a bit dirty and disorganized. It's overflowing with clothes of all sizes/styles. They also have some home furnishings, books, shoes, etc. I can imagine that it's hard to keep up with. The prices seem fine to me, but then again, I very rarely thrift shop. I do have a sweater from here that I love, that I specifically remember getting for $1.50. If you're looking for a place to drop things off, I highly recommend this location!

Some of my Booty included two sweaters one was a Poof ($12.99) and the other was Simply Couture ($16.99), and an embellished duster ($12.99), five work shirts - 3 of them were Harve Benard which I like that brand. Two activewear tops one was $1 and one was $3, one casual top which was $5, two blanket storage bags for $4 each, a REALLY sexy bra and panty set for $7 and two packs of Christmas-themed socks that completely humiliated my family when they put them on their feet X-mas Eve!  All of that for $140! That's including tax! I say it was a pretty successful day at Gabe's!

Laura of Pembroke also had Kate Spade jewelry on sale, which I was all around really impressed with because, as I said, Kate Spade rarely goes on sale. Aside from the luxury brands, Laura of Pembroke carries a lot of reasonably priced, unique clothes. I understand why the knee braces are located near the pharmacy. It makes sense in terms of stocking and organization. However, when one has to literally hobble on an injured knee, dragging one's leg behind them in utter pain, to the far side of the store in order to look at the knee braces, it simply means that it is not a customer-friendly location to put these items. I'm sure knee braces are not as profitable as the cosmetics located in the front, nor do they sell as quickly as the holiday items also located near the front of the store. But it sure would be nice to have the knee braces in a location where it didn't feel like an insurmountable obstacle to overcome to purchase one.
