Their points system has been overhauled and made more difficult to receive customer service for points specifically. The management bullies and belittles some of the checkout staff that are merely trying to work, not a good example to set in Carlsbad.

I went to register 3, the clerk was talking to another clerk, she turned to look at me, turned back around and started talking to her again. My friend I was with had to ask her if she was open and she said ya I'm open. By that time, I had already left. I then went to the self check out and proceeded to check myself out. The clerk that was manning that area walked off, no problem, however I ran into an issue and needed her help, but she was nowhere to be found, so we had to go find someone else. When she returned, I had another issue with scanning up an item. She told me it was because my friend picked up a bag before it was time, yet it still would not let me continue ringing up my item. She walked over with a terrible attitude and repeated what she already told us and told me there was nothing she could help me with that it had to fix itself. This stores customer service is awful!!! Its a shamebecause I really like the deli and a few other things I can't get anywhere else, but I dread going in fear of how I will be treated.

It's an affordable fashion & home decor store that carries big name brands with a no frills approach to their layout and displays. Ample free parking in a shared plaza lot. It took me 15 minutes to get out of the cosmetic aisles because…read moreof stockers, partially loaded abandoned carts, rude people leaving their carts in the middle of the aisles, people parked in the middle of the aisles on their phones. One couple with 2 carts and little kids walking 1 mph spanned the whole aisle so nobody could get through. All the pass thrus had stock carts blocking them. Why the store can't do all the stocking at night when there are much fewer shoppers I don't understand. Every time I've been there it's a claustrophobic nightmare. And trying to see prices on ground beef? No prices, just scan tags. WTF!? And I won't even get started on finding someone to help. This store has most of what I need, so I go there. But the stress level is climbing and I might be going somewhere else from now on.

Melrose reminds me of a discount clothing store much like Ross Dress for Less which coincidentally is also right next door. That being said, while I find cute items I personally have to try everything on and am so glad I did. One of the flowery blouses that I grabbed was a bit lopsided and not in a fashionable way. It looked like a quick sewing job. My girls spent quite a bit of time shopping and trying on clothes. I'm so proud they are picking out stuff they like nowadays. Pre-teens! Devynn, our cashier, was a super sweet young lady. She encouraged me to join the rewards program for free. I asked to try on a shirt and was accommodated. I think being welcoming and friendly is a necessity in running a business, and in brightening the world.
