This store has an amazing variety of home decor, furniture and more at great values and discounts. The gentleman at the cash wrap greeted us and wished us a good evening as we left. HOWEVER, the older woman with short blondish hair (I believe her name is Sandy) really needs to work on her customer service. We came here for a couch, (this is the 3rd location we've been to looking for a specific couch and we finally found it!! Super exciting right) Our excitement slowly disappeared within 3 minutes of asking for Sandy's assistance; We asked her if they had one in stock to which she said No. We asked if it was available to order, she said "we don't do Online" We asked if we could buy the display "we don't sell floor models" We asked, how can we buy this couch, are you sure it wouldn't be online? She says "We don't do online. You can go look yourself" At this point we realize she won't be helping us buy this couch, so we said "alriiight well this doesn't help much but thank you anyways" She sighs seeming very frustrated and says "well I was GOING to tell you there's one in transit but ok" and walks away while mumbling under her breath First of all, we were not rude. We were quite actually very excited about buying a new couch until speaking with her. She may have been having a bad day but there was no need to be so short and frustrated with us when all we were asking were basic questions. Needless to say, we went home, looked it up online and bought ourselves the couch we wanted with no help from Sandy. Had to pay for shipping but whateva :) read more

It had been years since I went into this store. I was looking online for something in particular and this place popped up as having it. I figured I'd stop in and get what I was looking for and walk right out but it didn't work out that way. Since my last visit many years ago they've remodeled. It looks nice now. I also found Goya products which I love and here in Sacramento they're really hard to find. I asked a lady for help looking for what I went in for and she was the sweetest lady ever. She helped me find it and then helped me find some other stuff I asked about. Not only did this store change in appearance but the people working there changed too. The people now are much nicer. I recall more than one incident in the past where the employees were super rude not just to me but customers inquiring about things. Glad it's different now and I'll be visiting more often. Came here with my husband to buy some bedroom furniture and mattresses no customer service. One of the staff members looked at us looking at the furniture area did not greet or acknowledge us as we try to flag him down, he relocated himself and proceeded on his cellphone..he walked over to the register, sat and looked at his phone . Keep hiring this. Type of workers and people will drive to Roseville where they have way better customer service. I needed a full size mattress and box spring and looked at several places in town. Found one (Serta) online at Big Lots. I was a bit sceptical but it turned out great. They even have same day delivery. I ordered by 2pm and the mattress and box springs were delivered between 6pm-7pm same day. Delivery fee was very reasonable. Both items came from 2 different stores- Folsom & N. Highlands so it was 2 deliveries. Big Lots is using a service called "bungii". Very nice and professional delivery service professionals. It was raining and they made sure that the items stayed dry and wiped them down before bringing into the house. The only thing is that they only deliver to the entrance inside house and do not place in the room or take upstairs. But, still extremely good service. read more

We purchased the Nashville recliner for my dad when he moved into assisted living in June. By November the reclining mechanism had broken. Big Lots will only accept returns within 30 days and in original packaging. If you don't purchase their additional warranty they will not help you at all! Way to stand behind your products Big Lots! Your furniture is not super cheap and should hold up more than a few months. They didn't offer a single solution or anything for this customer. I went in looking for some basic things for the house in terms of home decor and I left feeling really unimpressed mostly because for a "discount" store things were still pretty high in price. Wall decor that was half decent were still just as expensive if not more expensive than quality items that were sold at Marshalls or Ross. Not too impressed with their table cloths or kitchen items although I did find some Tupperware at a decent ok price. The food items were OK. Some organic red milk products, international foods, just average altogether. Beauty and cosmetics were less than average. I would say some name brand items such as neutrogena, Pantene, covergirl but the prices were not impressive. Overall, this place reflected my review. Average discounts for an average big lots. The store was clean. Don't know if i would come back though. read more

Pretty funny they ask you to wear a mask going in but don't care after you're inside. Pictured here customers wearing no mask and the other wearing under the nose. The cashier is pulled down as well and the mask is made of see through mesh. They're chatting it up about masks, Trump, Florida, and guns. Holding up the line and she doesn't call back up until they are done. Next cashier comes and same mask pulled down under the nose. I guess when your in the area it's what it is. Otherwise the store is pretty decent. Just go at your own risk. read more

I stopped in here due to the fact I had to take my go to the vet, and suddenly realized that his neck got plumper and his old collar would not fit him. So I needed to buy a dog collar for him so I could get that done. Arrive five minutes early they opened the doors and were super friendly, I got the item I needed and was on my way. This place is great! They have nearly everything you need. Is it fancy? Absolutely not..but it isn't expected to be. I went in for gift wrap and left with a sectional couch. I didn't know they had such great, affordable furniture (Broyhill!) The staff is super helpful and everyone is consistently nice there (customers included). If you don't like shopping there because of your own beliefs then don't. Leave the deals for everyone else! read more

Their curbside pickup is a joke...sat there for over 15 minutes...manager on a break you could see her outside talking on the phone and she not a very nice person any ways most of the time you go in store she is in a bad mood. On Friday, June 26th, 2020, I visited this store for the first and last time. Initially, I felt comfortable as there were flyers posted on the front doors, stating that masks were mandated by the Governor and required to enter the store . However, when I was in line to buy my items, there was a customer in front of me at the register, without a mask and one behind me without a mask. When I asked the cashier why there were flyers on the doors, requiring masks, yet it wasn't being enforced, she stated that I should contact corporate as they weren't requiring them to enforce it. I will start out by saying that this isn't my typical kind of store. I'm not a big fan of bargain/ discount stores and it's not because I'm snotty or too good for a great deal, but simply because I don't enjoy sifting through a bunch of junk to find that special deal. I randomly stopped by here a week or so ago on my way home from work. Needed a few household items and figured Big Lots would have em. An hour later I found myself sifting through junk and putting things in my cart I didn't know I needed... this place has a way of sucking you in, the great deals lure suckers like me into spending entirely too much. So, 150$ later and a cart full of shit I didn't really need, I left a happy customer. Overall, the store is clean, well stocked. The shelves are a bit disorganized but I guess that should be expected with crazies like me digging throughout. I not sure if the food items can be trusted from a place like this but they did have the essentials and some international foods as well. I was very impressed with the selection of linens and bedding items at great prices. 39.99 for 800 thread count 100% cotton sheets, now that's a deal! ( bought a few, tried them out, great quality!) Loved the huge gardening area and outdoor decor selection, also at very reasonable prices. Lots of cute, colorful things for the summer BBQs and outdoor entertaining. I think it's a great place to buy household items, certain decorative pieces but not so much groceries, cosmetics etc. The staff was friendly and the store wasn't packed, which made for a speedy checkout. Awesome place, it's on the outskirts of folsom and a lot of people don't go here for some reason. They have super good deals, there's no lines and the employees always greet you with a smile. Great selection of household and seasonal items. I was greeted within 10 seconds of walking into the store. I was really suprised to see such a large selection of furniture for some great prices. The store was very clean and the associates were friendly. The seasonal displays were well stocked and offered a large variety of items to choose from. Their prices were very comparable to other competitors for non grocery items. The grocery items seemed a little over priced. This store runs hot and cold for me. First of all, the service is incredible and the WOMEN that work there are amazing. Hard working, eager to solve your problems, knowledgeable, and generally amazing. However there have been numerous occasions where I have gone in and the price listed on the shelf is not the price that rang up at the counter. The cashier would look it up and tell me it was a mistake on the shelf and that the sale signs were in the wrong place. Sorry but you're giving it to me at that price, which they did. So excellent customer service- but you can't tell how much you're going to pay for something because the signs on the items are quite often not correct. read more

I went to this location after their "remodel". Now it feels like a thrift store with lots of furniture. I used to be to find cool home accents/picture/candles/towel/kitchen stuff. Not anymore. And they completely took out their sporting goods. No yard stuff either. I'll try another location and hopefully its not "remodeled". read more

My husband and I stopped here today after seeing a sign for electric fireplaces in their window. Several years ago I shopped at a Big Lots store but I couldn't remember what exactly they carried. While we didn't see any fireplaces that fit our needs they had quite the selection. I was surprised to see the large variety of items they had in stock. They carry everything from school supplies, pet items, curtains and curtain rods, they have a huge selection of throw pillows, furniture (couches, recliners, desks, kitchen and pub tables), seasonal decor (fall, Halloween and Christmas), mirrors, home decor, glassware, cutlery, canned and boxed food, wine and a very small selection of off-brand beer and tons of other things. The store seems to be a cross between Target and Ross. They have a little bit of everything. The quality seems decent and the prices seem more than reasonable. My husband fell in love with a floor lamp and they sold him the floor model for 20% off... He was stoked because it was already assembled and came with a lightbulb. Ha. I'd imagine we'll be back, especially for the holiday decor. read more

I dint typically go to stores like this, I am not a budget shopper, budget minded, or a crap lover... Somehow though I have found myself here a few times with my girlfriend sifting through outdated, overstocked, or just plain weird stuff... The store is clean and somewhat neat, I mean its probably hard to organize piles of odd ball crap week in and week out so you get the idea. The staff seems to be teen aged so you get what you get. If you get lucky, and head here on a regular basis there are some pretty good deals to be had. I have on several occasions tried to find a better deal on-line vs a product they had on the shelf, and not ever get close. Mostly this store if filled with mass produced china stuff that at one time had a following, as seen on TV stuff, and no name re-pop stuff. If your looking for something cheap or a one time use utensil Id say go here, but chances are you wont find a well made, last you awhile, high quality product lining their isles. read more
