My husband and I got into a discussion last weekend about World Market and some of the rare items they carry. I hadn't been to a World Market in a while so we decided to go last Sunday. This location is near Arden Fair Mall, next to Chick Fil A and In n Out. World Market has so many great cooking essentials and cooking items! They have so many Dutch Ovens, glasses, plates and even coffee mugs! Don't forget to check out their clearance sections too - you can find some hidden gems there! Plus candy from all over the world and even Halloween and Fall decorations are currently out - I even saw a small Christmas display as well. We spent an hour looking and going down each aisle. My family and I wanted to buy one of everything! We ended up buying some different drinks, candy, an advent calendar for our daughter, pasta and so much more! Staff were somewhat friendly at the register, but no one walks around and asks if you need any assistance or anything. Overall, I think that World Market is such a unique place and is great for gift ideas! read more

Things are on the pricier side compared to other avenues I buy from, but that's probably because they carry a ton of international items and because of tariffs, taxes, or other related charges. It will always be a fun time shopping at World Market. My favorite section would have to be the food/snacks. Most things are priced much higher than other places, but it's a great store to find it all. There's always something new or from a different country that I want to try, so that's what makes it an enjoyable shopping experiences. This was my first visit to World Market in quite a while since we no longer have one where I live. I'd forgotten how much I love World Market and the things they sell. From holiday decor to everyday house items and decor to food and beverages. I love the eclectic mix and can never leave empty handed. Maybe it's good the closest one is about an hour away, haha. Anyway, my mission was a few Halloween items I saw online and they had exactly what I wanted plus a couple more items, lol. If you're looking for any type of item or foods with a unique flair or a specific culture not found in your regular department stores, this is the place. Lots of beautiful items to select from, and it's a pretty large store. They have a rewards program also and occasionally offer free gifts with purchase. I enjoy World Market. I've been shopping at their various locations on and off for years, from when they used to have an incredible food and wine selection, two unique home decor. Over the years, the international food offerings have changed, and while they still offer some very cool items, the offerings definitely are a smaller selection. I truly love that the company is what it represents... Items from all over the world. From framed art, to picture frames, to almost anything you can possibly imagine, including clothing, a variety of furniture, and other furnishings. Today's trip was so much fun! I felt like a kid in a candy store. I have my go to places when I'm looking for specific items, but I'm so glad to include world market as well. I was looking for some really cool picture frames, and a few gifts at the same time. And I feel like I struck gold! I literally found everything that I was looking for. I enjoy being able to give well thought out gifts, and I really appreciate world market offering so many unique items so that I was able to put together a couple of really nice gifts. I've been to World Market before but it was just to look at furniture/houseware and many years ago so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw their assortment of food and wines. Tons of food from around the world like odd flavored Lays, old school candy like Clove or blackjack gum, lots of Buldak noodle flavors, Hello Kitty noodles and my holy grail were all the flavors of Loakers Quadratini wafers I've never seen before. I bought 4 bags of new flavors and loved them all. Prices were decent and lots of items were 30% off. Staff were friendly and super helpful. I also like that you can stack multiple coupons in one transaction. I will for sure be back more often now because they have tons of stuff I've seen on TikTok that I didn't know you could find in the States. read more

I'm in Work Market all the time shopping for great deals on a wide range of food and drink. They have a unique selection of English, Italian, Indian, Chinese, and German foods you just don't see everywhere else. I usually bypass the main shelves and head to the end caps at the back of the store. That's where you can find super deals on discontinued products for up to 50% off. Of course, the have a great selection of regularly priced food too. They offer a variety of things like pasta, sausages, candies, soup mixes, wines, beers, and more! On the home furnishing side, there's a wide selection of artwork, rugs, lamps, tables, and comfortable chairs. So comfortable, that you might start to doze off and get some funny looks from the employees while "testing" them after a long day of shopping. Don't ask me how I know that, I just do... They have such a great selection, I'm always finding new and unique products. The customers service is always good, and they offer discounts and promotions through the rewards club. read more

If you join their rewards club you'll also be able to earn savings and special deals. Currently they have some great online deals for curbside pickup. Depending on when you visit you'll find different items, including a lot of seasonal and holiday items. Keep an eye out for sales after the holidays and depending on when you visit you'll find some specials or clearance items (usually in end caps of aisles). The candy and drinks are some of my favorites to look at here. They have a lot of specialty items and interesting things that are hard to find elsewhere. I will say that some items you can find more I expensively elsewhere, but there are so many hidden gems with great prices. Also, the convenience of having everything in one place is great too. In order to get my CostPlus World Market fix of fun foods and decor, I need to visit the World Market location near the corner of Howe and Alta Arden Expressway since the Elk Grove location shuttered in early 2020 (before the pandemic). The staff is generally helpful and the store is well-maintained. I admit that I rarely purchase anything at CostPlus other than candy and foods even though I love the seasonal decor and kitchen ware. I simply wouldn't have the room for everything I saw and loved at WorldMarket so I'm grateful that this location exists for my sweet tooth and window shopping - especially all of their vintage-styled Christmas decorations! Oh how I love seeing their mid-century modern styled wooden houses, their adorable glass and felt ornaments, their mushroom shaped mugs and mushroom garland! read more

This is for World Market in general and not this particular store. I purchased four chairs ($349ea). Delivery was scheduled for Dec 16, after I moved into my new home. I got an email saying the chairs would be delivered Dec 11, prior to me closing on the home. Called World Market and they told me I had to reach out to FedEx and gave me two phone numbers. Those two phone numbers were incorrect. One was a local Tax Office and the other to another freight company. When I finally got through to FedEx they said I had to coordinate with World Market. Received no help from either World Market or FedEx. read more

World Market at the corner of Alta Arden Expressway and Howe Ave has been there for many years. The other World Market comes and goes. But this one at Arden-Arcade is still here. I received a lovely greeting as soon as I walked into the store. The sale floor is vast, with many items that fit my home, and the price is very reasonable. The checkout lines are short and very fast. I enjoy my shopping experience here. The parking lot is enormous and looks pretty clean. But a few homeless persons are there. I'm not sure how to rate world market It's like the other world markets. You get items that have the theme of different countries, but might wanna xhexk the "made in" info to make sure it actually comes from where it says it does. Food items can at times be stale/expired so that's another thing to pay attention to. They do have a lot of cute stuff and some are even reasonably priced. Has its own parking lot with plenty of spaces. Moderately busy in the late morning on a weekday. Clean interior. I didn't see any hand sanitizer at the entrance, but there were wipes for baskets. I spotted a hand sanitizer dispenser deeper inside the store. Not all the staff wear masks, but the cashiers do. Checkout was relatively fast with a small line since they had three cashiers working. Friendly service. The products aren't exactly cheap, but there are some variety of snacks from overseas that you wouldn't see in a typical American supermarket. read more

Cost Plus World Markets have often been like a relaxing, therapeutic shopping experience for me. I wouldn't call them inexpensive, but it's still enjoyable to browse the aisles looking for something that I might need. They carry a nice variety of products for home decor, furniture, foods, spices, wines, art, dining & kitchen supplies, gadgets, and even seasonal stuff. Most of their import merchandise comes from many popular world destinations where you won't find in other regular department or grocery stores. Joe K. prefers certain kinds of spices, cooking oils, chocolates, and Torani syrup, while I explore other parts of the store for something unusual to decorate my house or garden. I've been to this store a couple of times now, and I am in love with the store! Mainly with the food and section. I was looking for special hot sauce and I came upon a couple. One of the workers gave me suggestion and help me choose a couple. The fact that the workers took the time to help me and go the second miles means a lot, and is why I'll continue to support this place when I'm in the area. I normally do not post without prompts, but, I had the best service at World Market today! First, I placed an online pick up order. One of the items was unavailable; I received a call telling me this before confirmation that my order was ready. Nice to live without drama... Second, when I was in line for in-store purchases, the cashier asked if I had any coupons or rewards. Initially, I wasn't able to return the World Market text when she showed me how to check this via text. She saw that I had tried it from a previous visit at another store and subsequently saw that the number was blocked. She helped me correct this: Essentially, I received one of my seasonings that I purchased for free after my reward was applied. So helpful! This is one of my favorite stores to shop for out of the ordinary stuff. I've purchased many beautiful and great quality furniture items in the past here: a dining table, a desk, chairs, rugs, you name it. The staff is so helpful if you can find someone on the floor. If you see any cute ornaments you like during Christmas season, get them! I noticed they do not have the same ornaments every year. Which I loveee. That makes it more fun to see what's new the new year. My regular items to go are the candles. They last and they smell so good. read more

I had a lovely time shopping at one of my favorite World Market locations today! I recently discovered the amazingness that is World Market Soup Mix (specifically, the potato corn chowder) and came in today to stock up, since the 20% Labor Day sale was going on today. World Market associate Monica was super helpful and informed me that clearance items were also an additional 50% off, so my soup restock trip quickly turned into a shopping extravaganza. It's difficult to come into this store and NOT find something you just have to have, and the employees further add to the enjoyable shopping experience. Denis at the cash register was equally as friendly as Monica, and made sure that all of the promotion prices were added to my purchase. Monica is the absolute best. I went in for brining bags since it said they were there online. I asked for help and we couldn't find any. Monica took down my info and let me know they might just be on the truck and she'd call me later that day if she found them, but if I didn't hear from her to call back the next day at 10 and ask for her. Well, she called me (before 10) and they didn't find any of them on the truck either. I truly appreciate her follow through. She could have left me hanging since she couldn't find the product but she didn't. Amazing customer service. 11/10 would recommend Monica get a raise or become a trainer, if she's not already. One of my favorite places. I bought a few screw on spouts that you attach to empty bottles for olive oil. You can use it for anything...get creative. I actually enjoy the imported goodies and ethnic pieces. They sell some contemporary prints and bath products too. If you love cooking, they also have culinary tools and also beautiful dishes to choose from. I like also their assortment of wine, tea and cocoa. I can stay here for hours too. When I'm at Cost Plus, I focus on the yummy unique foods. Where do I go for my favorite White Chocolate, imported from Switzerland? My favorite Caramel Chocolate Wafer that is imported from Germany? My favorite magnetic spice tins that are perfect for the fridge? Cost Plus. Any Cost Plus. Specific to this location: Some of the best, roomiest parking you'll find for your vehicle. To say it diplomatically, I have noticed the friendliness of employees can differ from being in the shopping phase, and when I'm up at the cash register, during the buying phase. Always all smiles at the register! Various times during the year, different food snacks will go on sale: keep on top of all the good deals by signing up for that email list so you are in the know for the day of the sales! When you do go in for those sales, knowing where/finding where those sale items are yourself, have given me better results rather than ask an employee working the floor. COVID: Their curbside pickup during the pandemic is efficient and organized! Holidays: While their decor is limited, their ornament selection has a lot of variety! COST PLUS I was racially profiled this weekend at Cost Plus Sacramento. I entered the store and began looking around. I wanted to purchase a pull out bed, or a day bed, but they have mostly mattreses of Futon quality which are nice but too hard for my back. As I was looking, a young white employee was hiding behind some shelves looking at me. She didn't know that I could see her and that I knew that she was going to follow me and profile me, so I allowed for her to behave the way she chose to. She watched me and then passed me spoking loudly into a device of some kind, she was speaking officially, in a way to intimidate me, and make herself sound official and perhaps to indicate to me that she can see me and that she is aware of me in case I felt like stealing. This hurt my feelings so badly, she is the same employee who sold me about $1200 worth of merchandise about 8 months ago. She is about 20 years old, she has long brown hair, and signature cat like eyes, she is White American, and about 5 foot 5 or 4 foot 6. She continued with the behavior, circling me, going to different sides of the same area to glance at me and watch me without ever greeting me or trying to make me feel comfortable. I decided to address her, so I got her attention and I told her that I knew she was watching me because I am Black/ African American. And I told her that Black people report this type of behavior and do not tolerate it, I specified that I knew she was following me and monitoring me. She seemed caught and disappointed in herself. I spoke with customer service about 2 hours ago, management should be speaking with her as soon as they understand exactly what happened. I am so relieved. The other White American customers were free to shop at their leisure, take their time, and enjoy. I wish I could have done the same thing. I bought a $75 faux fur throw blanket for the living room, and some rubber animal toys located close to the cash register. I get the feeling that the employees at this Cost Plus location treat Black customers this way consistently. Discrimination lawsuits are very serious, it would be much more intelligent to leave Black customers alone and allow us to shop in peace, unless offering help or advice on products. read more

At this particular location the manager has a horrible attitude. He needs to understand that acknowledging your customers is an essential part of customer service. Also when you see you've dropped the ball be big enough to at least apologize. The workers seen much more attentive as well as aware of his poor example for customer service. Sad I've always enjoyed shopping at cost plus when I lived in near the Albany location . Not So sure I'll continue shopping here. read more

I went into the store on Sunday, Jan. 14th to return a small item with a receipt. The total with tax was $18.31. The computer system wasn't letting the clerk do the return and the only option was to come back. This is unacceptable as I had the item in good condition and the receipt. The shop is not close to me so to ask the customer to drive out their again to do a return is unacceptable. I asked for a cash back option and they couldn't do that either. Very poor customer service. Will not be shopping their again. read more

Sitting in the parking lot as I type this. I went to return items to world market and there two other people in line so instead of retuning them right away I went to the bath area to grab a hand soap dispenser to kill waiting some time. In the duration of less than 3 minutes, I had two employees, Imran and a manager named Nick come up to me and "ask if I needed any help." Imran tried to make small talk and act as though he was "fixing" some items right across from me for a good minute. Really? I instantly took notice to what's going on And just brushed it off. I even shook my head and giggled in disbelief Nick, almost 1 minute later comes to me asked if he could take my bag to the front. Already knowing what that implied, I still said yes. I'm in disbelief. And upset at this point. Because I felt as if they thought I was going to put something in my return bag, I still purchased an item. As I ring up my return, it just so happens that Nick (the manager) is at the counter ( he wasn't there there before, he wasn't there when I got there and there was no line and already an employee at a register) I asked Nick if he was a manager and if it was protocol for customers to leave their return bags at the front counter. He said "well, usually customers tell us they are returning items or just return them first at the counter" (BTW, when I first came in I asked him if there was a different line for return, he clearly saw me with a bag in my hand and knew I was returning something) So simply put, the answer is NO. There is NO protocol I will be returning this soap dispenser I just purchased. I'm at thoroughly upset and will be contacting corporate about this as well. You need to establish a protocol for returns and let ALL of your customers know. Not just "some." As an African American woman who just purchased a house and has spent close to thousands at this establish over the course of a few months in complete bliss to furnish and decorate my new beginning, I'm disgusted. I hope corporate reads this, check the cameras and this store make changes immediately. You don't get to pick and choose who to make rules for. And thank you for the reminder that no matter how much money I make, where I buy a house or who I am, my black skin will always be looked at as a threat to steal. I wanted some soda that I find only at the World Market. I love shopping at Cost Plus WorM especially when beer (and everything else food-wise) is discounted! I haven't been able to order online today but will persist until I have the CORRECT password and telephone number to get 'membership' benefits. No matter what the unhappy, really grumpy, former customers say or write, the employees and managers at CPWM on Howe Avenue in Sacramento are terrific, friendly, helpful, and serve to keep this customer among those who are in the happy flock of customers. Cost Plus World Market is to Adults, as Sanrio is to Kids. Take that SAT's, figure that analogy out...or whatever ;) This is the only place where I can be everything...an interior designer, a sommelier, a chef, a foodie, a housewife, a florist (albeit fake flowers florist), furniture guru, and a world traveler. Take a huge chunk of square footage and add a bunch of cool stuff to sell and you have yourself a CPWM! From exotic and foreign goodies, to racks of beautiful table linens the possibilities are endless...well that is until your credit card company puts a kibosh to your purchases ;) Stuff for every part of your house, but especially my favorite part - the kitchen. From dishes to booze, you can decorate and stock your house with one trip here. They have a lovely rewards program, which is soon to be changing, per a recent e-mail. However, as all rewards programs go, spend a crap ton on our merchandise and we'll give you a minuscule rewards voucher. Don't get me wrong, that $10 voucher will get me back in those doors in a heartbeat, to spend probably 5 times what they gave me. Touché! Great for gifts...who am I kidding...great for yourself too. I love this Cost Plus location because they are usually in stock of what the Roseville store is out of. The employees are always friendly and the store is clean and nicely organized. I probably come here every few weeks because they have great sales and there is always something new going on. My favorite sections are the wall art, jewelry, home decor and bath which take up the front of the store with the kitchen, candle and stationary departments. The middle of the store is filled with furniture and the ever changing seasonal department while the entire back of the store is filled with food and wine/beer. You really can't go wrong with anything you buy here. Whether it be food or dinner plates, everything here is quality and you will never buy something you are unhappy with. read more
