The shopping, however, was as bad as the hygiene and Covid precautions. The only ONLY bright spot is that they did have decent books but I didn't spend a lot of time there looking because I felt unsafe. They also have racist signage that was appallingly bad. One was a cartoon Ollie dressed as an Asian caricature. The other was advertising rugs and said "Oriental". Just blatantly bad. I'll not come here again.

This is a really great store because of two reasons. One is the people. An example is I took out…read more20.00 for my kids lunch at the register but forgot to take the money. I came back asking about it and Johnny the tallest person that worked there saw the money and held it for me. This kind of thing goes on a lot at this store. The other good thing about Kroger is that their mark down items are really marked down. I often find a unexpired roast at half off or better that I drop in the slow cooker the day I bought it. The marked down bread cart is by the hot dog section. I often buy the croissants and put them in the oven for a few min and they are good as new. The bakers in this store know what they are doing. In our town this is the only store with a large organic section. The "save the whales" crowd can find whatever they need here. The current manager is a well dressed lady that I always see around the store looking after things. She often makes the time to ask me about the store and how they are doing there. The produce department is clean and bright and they are always working with the produce every time I am there. Fresh herbs are available here and no where else in town. The people in the meat department have answered many questions for me and are quite knowledgable. The ladies behind the deli know I pick up the mark down chickens for freezing and will often point out that they have some if I walk by. All the people at the self check out are helpful like Rita, Karen, and Kristi. If you use the Kroger app and click on the coupons they are automatically applied when you use your Kroger customer card. I went there a few months ago and my bill was nearly cut in half from using the app coupons, no sissors were required. If you shop there often enough then best customer coupons appear on the app where the discounts are better than normal and they give you some items free. It's a nice surprise to have four or five items show up that are free. My last trip I received a free pizza, carrots and cake mix. I don't think any other store here does that sort of thing. This store is nice especially with the recent remodel. They remodeled the bath room and I know it's the nicest bathroom of any grocery store in town. It's nice to know there is a clean nice bathroom in the store in stead of a horror show. Even the stockers are nice which is unusual. All in all its a very well run clean store. You get the idea that these people actually care about their store and customers. They get along with each other and are happy rather than acting like they are imprisoned pow's awaiting release like in other stores.

Drove 30 mins to get to store and buy my son 2 pair of shoes for school. First experience wasn't…read morebad, it's super annoying for stores to keep one shoe out of each box in the back for fear that people will steal their shoes??? (I assume that's why) Ok. Fine. Found what we needed, I was happy with my purchase. Got home and realized the other shoe they had to retrieve from the back didn't match the other shoe I had purchased. Annoying. If you can't leave both shoes in the box, please double check and triple check that you got the right match. So back to the store I went (mind you, this is a 1 hour round trip) because I realize that sh-- happens. The lady helping me was the same as the first day (first trip on Thursday, this trip on Saturday), I told her the situation and she went to the back to retrieve the correct shoe. (Back story- I purchased an older, on sale, pair of Hey Dudes, the mismatched one I was given was the same color, but had one of their newer logos on it, not the old logo as I had purchased.) she comes from the back to tell me she can't find the other shoe to what I purchased, but the match for the newer pair was there and I could pay $15 more for that shoe. I told her that it wasn't my fault. She said she could ask a manager if she can give me the newer pair for the same price I had already paid. I said "please do." (Why would you ask the customer this, of course you should do that, that's the right thing!) The redeeming factor here is that the manager said they could give me the matching new pair for the same price I had already paid. There was no way I was giving them $15 more because they can't find the shoe match I had purchased. Especially after driving 1 hour round trip TWICE for shoes alone. Overall, customer service was ok and the store has an ok selection with ok prices. But unfortunately for them, this one incident turned me off from buying here again.

So my doctor filled my prescription at CVS in Marshall. I received a call from CVS that is was…read moreready. I arrived about 20 minutes after the call. They had 3 customers in front of me. They are extremely slow. I waiting for 45 minutes before it was my turn. When she told me the price, I asked if my insurance was being used. She said no that I would have to speak to the lady at the last window if I want to use my insurance. I went to the last window and had to wait for her to finish with a drive through customer. She said she doesn't see my insurance in the system and she needed my card . I was baffled by this because I gave them my card a week prior for a different prescription. So it took her a few minutes to add it to the system and she then said it would be $10 but I have to go back to the other window. When I got back down there, there were now 2 people in front of me. I waited for another 20 minutes. When I got to the window, the lady said it wasn't ready yet. I said "what do you mean no ready...you just had it"...she said that since it was changed to insurance they have to start the whole process over. I was fumed! After waiting all that time and then I would have to wait again!! I told them never mind, I'm moving it to another pharmacy and I'll never be back.
