Every question felt like it took forever to get an answer, and getting updates was like waiting for paint to dry. To make matters worse, everything seemed to revolve around squeezing every last dollar out of the customer. It felt less like they wanted to help and more like they were looking for the next way to charge extra. If you're looking for responsive service, clear communication, and a company that values its customers, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. My daughter always wanted a large portrait of her poodle to hang above her fireplace. I decided that she deserved a housewarming gift being that she is now a homeowner. I began the search for a professional pet photographer. As I reviewed the photographers in our area, I found the website for Carl Photography. Being a dog lover, I fell in love with all of the photographs of dogs. I was convinced that this photographer had a knack for catching the personalities of all of the photos that I had reviewed. I contacted the owner, Vicki, whom I found to be a very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable lady. I told my daughter what I had done and she followed up with the appointment. After Schatzi's photo shoot, she called me, and the excitement in her voice, "Oh Mom, where did you find this photographer? They are excellent and the way they handled Schatzi I couldn't be more happier!" I saw the proof and I had tears in my eyes because that was definitely the personality of Schatzi. The portrait is absolutely STUNNING to the point that we will be using this company in the future. I reread what I had written on the papers. I do not lie. The information was accurate. Sammy is a 5 1/2 pound - 1 1/2 year old Yorkie. The owner complained that Sammy was digging when left outside alone. (Yorkies like to dig in the dirt!) The owner commented that my puppy didn't like to be alone. On the paper I wrote he is very friendly. She was not at all sympathetic; that we had recently lost our beloved eight-year old Yorkie, Dundee, Sammy's best friend about a month ago.) Due to that, yes, I agreed with the owner, Sammy does not like to be alone. I do not find this as a fault, but rather an endearing quality. We were appalled that the owner would put a 5 1/2 pound Yorkie in an open field/pen with no covering without any regard to possible hawks. This is unacceptable. Has she not ever seen a hawk swoop down and pick up a small animal? It happens very quickly! So no, Sammy has never been left outside alone nor should he be. And finally the owner added that our puppy was not welcome back to Chateau Barkingham kennel. This was a bit beside the point because in our minds, we already had decided he would never be brought back to this establishment. The owner is not at all versed in dealing with puppies or very small dogs. When we returned home we talked to Sammy's Veterinarian. Our Vet was shocked at the "faults" found in Sammy. All ridiculous.
