Oh will I say it was delicious... the donut was airy with a good crunch from the topping. We got a differnt donut from Ralph's so will have do test on Ralph's cinnamon donut, but with the donut we got there big Os out scored it by a mile!!The outside of big Os may be off putting to some, but once inside totally worth it! read more

Heading into Cookeville today on errands I searched out the highest rated donut shops and read reviews. The owner of Big O Donuts replied as he should to an improper review and so off I went. Walking in there are cases of donuts wall to wall! Nice, good sized donuts with many choices. I picked the large apple fritter and a dozen filled and miscellaneous ones that looked great. Everything looked great! I've eaten and sampled more than half. The apple fritter, glazed old fashion, chocolate old fashion, peanut butter and jelly and the apple crumb were fantastic!! Plenty of filling and very fresh flavors and textures. I'm in the midst of a sugar coma now but the remaining 5 will be gone today some time. Looks like I've definitely found my TN donut stop!! Don't waste your time with others. If you are looking for fresh, PROPERLY MADE donuts then look no further! read more

Oh my! What can I say about Big O... nothing! What are you waiting on! Seriously, this place is amazing! The staff are welcoming and wonderful. The value is ridiculously reasonable. Passed through Cookeville and came here because Ralph's was closed but it satisfied the craving. Word of advice stick to the yeast or filled donuts they taste the freshest. The cake ones we had were subpar always lacking the level of moisture to make the donut truly shine. My favorite of the bunch was the Custard Filled wish I had gotten a Cream Filled that would've made it 5/5 review! There was something ominous about the chocolate glaze at first glance but heat it up and those doubts will melt away. Also get there earlier than noon for the best options I saw they were completely out of stock of the Apple fritters and Cinnamon rolls which only means they are most popular. read more

Arrived at 7 am to get the holiday donuts that were posted on their social media. When we got there the cashier was rude and seemed annoyed when asked where the holiday donuts were. He stated they would be out in "20, 30 mins, i don't even know" with a bothered tone. We ended up getting ones that were already out since we had somewhere to be, these donuts were cold, hard and stale. I wouldn't be surprised if they were from yesterday. Big O is one of the few donut joints that I have found in Tennessee that offers Maple Bars! They are very prevalent ( aaaand delicious! ) in the West coast but nonexistent in the South. I've had better donuts than the ones at Big O's, but given the limited supply in the area, they are decently good. Below is what we got: PUMPKIN: not as spiced as other pumpkin ones I've had elsewhere and the glaze overpowered the donut. I wish they had plain pumpkin with no glaze! BAVARIAN CREME: the ratio of creme to donut was less than what I was hoping. It seemed like I ate half of the donut without getting any creme. The chocolate glaze was yummy. PLAIN: this donut was very chewy, and the flavor was dull. CHOCOLATE GLAZED: soft donut and good glaze but nothing special that stood out. REGULAR GLAZED: the best one! The donut was soft and the glaze was sweet enough but not too over-powering. I wish I got a dozen of these! Overall, I recommend that Big O's have more variety of glazed and not-glazed versions of their donuts, but I highly recommend the regular ol' glazed if you stop by for something sweet. read more
