**WARNING** BIG O DONUTS will ruin your love for donuts anywhere else. You will not like anyone's else's! They're donuts are amazingly heavenly!! I live in Columbia,tn and I don't go to cookeville very often, but whenever I do or if I'm going past, I always stop here!! I refuse to eat donuts anywhere else. They're handmade fresh every single day as melt in your mouth. They have HUGE fritters an cinnamon rolls. They're open 24/7 and have wifi so it's great for the college students as well. Or a late night traveler. They're blueberry cake donuts are one of my faves. They make them with real blueberrys too. None of that fake blueberry that other big name donut shops use. And the price is really good. They're not very expensive for the quality. They're a little bit more expensive than walmart ( almost a dollar more for a dozen) but sooo worth it. We have been looking for a place like this for years! Fresh and delicious donuts!!! That's a simple description and they open 24/7! Soft and fresh donuts that melts in your mouth. It's the real thing. Pumpkin donuts for the season made out of real pumpkins. Regular glazed donuts, sugar and cinnamon, chocolate, blueberry, filled donuts, etc. Coffee, tea, ice cream and shakes are also available. Clean place and super friendly staff. The donuts here are pretty good, though a tad more expensive(80 cents) than walmart's donuts(56 cents each) (Though, honestly, the quality is still pretty close). But if you bring a friend or two a long and split a dozen, you can save some money...though they aren't THAT horribly expensive. The freshness of the donuts are hit or miss. Sometimes they've been sitting there a while. Sometimes they are hot off the fryer. Overall, I guess it would be the best place in Cookeville to get donuts since there are only 2 places in this town to get donuts! read more

For such a small town with so much competition in donuts, Big O Donuts does not try to improve, does not offer popular donuts that customers repeatedly request, and does not have any level of customer service. The store is old and run down on the outside and the inside is filthy. The dining area is consistently dirty. If you want a clean table to sit at, be prepared to clean off a table. Absolutely no amenities are provided to the customer. Most times the employees will huff and roll their eyes if you ask them for basic things like napkins are even tissue paper for the restrooms (which are usually uncleaned for days). The staff are rude and obnoxious and constantly play loud and offensive music at volumes the entire dining area can hear. Employees are constantly standing around outside smoking, meaning you may have to wait 5-10 minutes to be served if you need anything from the counter. When they do come inside, none of the employees ever bother washing their hands. You cannot complain to anyone because there are no supervisors: all employees simply do whatever they want with no repercussions. It is a well-known fact that Big O Donuts serves nothing but day-old donuts. All the donuts you see being made in the afternoon are placed on open-air racks and put out the next day. If you ask an employee when the donuts are made they will either dance around the question or simply lie to you. It is not uncommon to be served donuts that are two days old and be charged full price. Between Dunkin' Donuts, Ralph's, Cookeville Donuts, Wal-Mart, and Kroger, there is no reason for a place this absurd to still be in business. There are still a few loyal customers who remain simply on the memory of how good a donut shop this used to be under the previous owners and can't convince themselves that they deserve better. read more

I've loved this place since I was a kid and even after many years of living abroad I go there every time I return to the area. However after this last visit I was so utterly disgusted that I will most likely never return unless some serious much needed changes are made and honestly it should probably be shutdown by health inspectors until then . When I visited the restroom it reeked of urine and actually had it standing around the base of the toilet from what appeared to have been a leaky wax ring. The toilet itself actually had black water spots (I hope) in the bowl from lack of cleaning as well as all kinds of nastiness around the ring and seat, the sink was also completely gross as it had mold around the faucet and knobs, there was a bottle of dish-washing soap to wash up with and most disturbingly of all the hand towel roll (reusable towel that spins around) was filthy brown. After returning from the horror of the bathroom I started to look around and noticed the entire place was just plain nasty. There was very old food spilled around the windows and especially the trash cans. Like I said I have loved this place since I was a kid so I get that it's old... I can live with old but nasty no thanks. I really hope this changes because I honestly love their donuts. read more

Great donuts and yes they're fresh so don't hesitate to try them. The coffee is pretty good and i don't understand the grossly sweetened coffee comment. Uh, it's coffee packets that go in the coffeemakers. YOU add the sweetener. Too much filling? Don't be a baby, put any excess in your napkin if you can't handle a generous amount. read more

The donuts here are good. The staff was a bit rude the last time I visited. Maybe they were just tired. After all, the sign says it's open 24/7. You should know that they do not take credit or debit cards for purchases under $5, which is an inconvenience. I did not know that the first time I went, and there were no signs that I saw to indicate that. They really should think about switching merchant account providers. read more

Had the great fortune to happen upon Big O Donuts while in Cookeville for a high school bball tournament. My only regret was that we didn't stop Saturday night when we first saw Big Os. If I'm ever in Cookeville again I will definitely stop at Big O Donuts. We had a variety of donuts....cream-filled to plain. Best I have ever had. read more
