I really don't enjoy writing this but I'm hoping the owner will give this thought. I absolutely loved this place when they first opened. I was a regular customer and was always grateful to send friends here. The past few times I have come in have not been good and I don't plan on coming back. Unfriendly service Food is not good Food never comes the way described on the menu Things on the menu are not included and what is included in the food is not on the menu Everything is over salted The garlic sauce is just gross ranch dressing It takes forever for the food then it's not worth the money spent I'm really disappointed because there aren't many restaurants here that have international cuisine that offers authentic flavors. Our first time here, it was a mixed experience. The food was delicious. We did not get what we ordered even though what we got was as I said very delicious. So, what the employee thought we ordered and he made was considerably more expensive than what we in fact wanted. There was obviously a breakdown in communication due to language. Visiting this town for the first time, we always try to seek out local, non-chain spots--and we're so glad a local recommended this one. At first, we were hesitant since there were only two ladies dining in when we arrived, but we took the chance, and it definitely paid off. The food was excellent--hot, fresh, and generously portioned. My husband and I shared the deboned mixed chicken with rice and salad, and added a side of hummus. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Don't let the small size of the place or the more serious demeanor of the staff deter you. This was a cool local joint to check out and the food was good! The seating area was clean and the staff were nice. Docking points for how long it took for food to come out (~10 mins) and because there were items on my Chicken Shawarma that weren't listed on the menu that I didn't want (tomatoes, lettuce). Menu simply says ingredients are shawarma, white garlic sauce, and pickles. Next time I'll know to request just those items on it! read more

I've lived in the Cookeville area for several years now and have always passed by this place, thinking it was a juice and smoothie bar. Today, I realized it's Mediterranean food and finally gave it a try and now I am SO mad at myself for never stopping here before!! It was so good that it immediately became my new favorite restaurant in Cookeville! We came here for lunch for the first time and even though it was a busy place, the guys working here were friendly, very efficient and very helpful. The place is very clean and organized, as well. Now, the food was just outstanding! My new favorite place to grab a quick savory, and on top of that, very healthy lunch or dinner. I ordered the Shish Tawook which consist of grilled chicken kabob with rice and sauce and a savory salad. My husband ordered the Meat Shawarma which also comes with a salad. Both dishes were perfectly seasoned and simply delicious! The portions are very generous too. We also ordered one of their delicious smoothies. Oh my gosh! That smoothie was the cherry on top! I hesitate to share this because I enjoyed walking in and ordering without a wait, but that would be selfish of me. This treasure is located on Willow just down from Cici's Pizza. If you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor. The menu is Mediterranean (think shawarma, falafel, and the best hummus), juice and smoothies. Excellent food and the service was spot on. An important note, we walked in after Wednesday night choir rehearsal at 8:00 pm (they're open until 9) and they treated us like we were the first customers of the day. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. I didn't get a picture of my husband's chicken shawarma, but I did steal a bite. It was delicious. I ordered a small Greek salad and hummus. Just stopped here in a road trip w a friend and each of our 4 year old daughters. The kids chicken nugget plates were delicious. My friend and I split the chicken shawarma lunch plate, which was huge and also very good. Service was through the roof and we even got smoothie samples. Always on the hunt for great Greek food. I Ordered a gyro, but didn't specify chicken or lamb (didn't notice they had both till after I ordered. The sandwich, although it wasn't what I expected, was Fantastic!! The meat was cubed & seasoned with something wonderful. I'm not familiar enough with spices to tell what it was, but it was GOOD! My favorite Greek place is in Lebanon, but as I live in Carthage, I'm SO happy to have found this for when I'm in Cookeville! The food is great. We ordered the chicken and rice and the flavor and quality was great. Service though, was not that great. People were leaving because of how long the food was taking which is somewhat understandable considering the fact that there are only 2 people cooking and serving. But that isn't an excuse because every restaurant needs to be able to serve people quickly and efficiently. The servers though were very nice and hard working. I actually found out about this place because we workout at the same gym. This place has one of the healthiest menus I've seen in a long time. My husband and I both got the meat shawarma and it was huge portions without the inflated prices. The vegetables with hummus appetizer plate were a nice variety and very fresh. We were just to full to try one of the many smoothies options available but we certainly will be back to try them. They did give us a sample of one & it was fantastic! Both the gentleman work today were very welcoming and gave excellent customer service. Ask several times if e every thing was good & it was. Lots of people were coming in to get pick up orders and I see why, we left with plenty of left overs! The food was extremely fresh. I had never had meditranian food but after hear the guy at the gym describe it I am so glad I gave it a chance. The food was top quality, fresh and very well seasoned. We will definitely be back.
