We were leaving the Lake of the Ozarks after a great visit with dear friends when we heard a scraping in the right drive system of our Acura RDX. Our friends without hesitation indicated they rely on Big O Tires for vehicle service. We walked in without an appointment and shared our concerns with Gunner. He confidently assured us they would get it in as soon as they could and would let us know what they found. Fifteen minutes later, Gunner returned to the lobby with a small pebble that had lodged in the front wheel area. I was 2,000 miles from home and had to visit them twice while in the area for a month. They are very busy, I'd recommend making an appointment. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Plus they work pretty quickly. The first time I had tire pressure issues and they found and were able to solve the problem. A couple weeks later I had to go and found out my rotors were warped, got a free quote and had them check my brake pads. I made an appointment that time and was in and out in about 30 minutes or so. Went into Big O Saturday, my car was slow to start. They did a diagnostic test and said my battery was good and my alternator failed 7 times. For them to replace it and la or it was just under $500. I went to O'Reilly and purchased a new alternator for $191. It was installed by another mechanic, Kent Holtz. When I go to pick my car up, he states it is still slow to start after the new alternator had been put in. I take my car and the old alternator to O'Reilly. I had them do a diagnostic testing on my old alternator, IT WAS GOOD! My battery failed. Big O was completely wrong. Please be aware of the diagnostic testing Big O does and make sure you can see the testing device, to make sure you failed. read more

Took my company car in for service Saturday, only day I have time for service. Told them I had a slow leak in one tire, needed tire rotation and oil change. Dropped off, picked up later and was told screw in tire, repaired and all services done. Monday morning and amazing, same location on car had leaked air again! After I spent over $1,000 on tires from them. One person said yes we will get to you. Another kid came in and said they wouldn't . I told them that was a crock of shit. They told me I just wanted special treatment. I blew a gasket. They had plenty of time to sell me tires and put them on. But not time to repair it. I have had 4 flats on these tires. Less than 20,000 miles on them. They are junk. When they we're putting the tires on I asked them to look at my air conditioner. They said it would be $900 to fix. Very slow. Took 45 minutes to fix a flat and charged me $20, no apology for the wait. I've been in several times for other things and wait 30 minutes at least, regardless of how busy they are. Nobody is in a hurry to do anything. I miss my old garage that would charge me $10 for a flat and fix it in 5 minutes. Update: Took an hour to install 2 tires today. They were not busy. I have been a mechanic on fleet vehicles here in Camdenton for five years. People frequently ask me where is a good place to have maintenance done on their cars since they know I'm a mechanic but I don't work for the public. Big O tires has repeatedly ripped off people. I can guarantee that every time you take your car in there they will try to sell you $160 shocks for $500 when you don't need shocks at all, or air filters when you just had it changed a few months before, or brakes because they only have a year left on them. And they will say it to you with the sincerity that a doctor might have when he tells you your loved one is about to die. These guys are lying cheating crooks. If you don't want to get taken by the most dishonest mechanics I've ever seen, stay away from big O. I personally don't use them because I do my own maintenance, but I have heard dozens of horror stories from people who came to me after they were taken, or having me doublecheck something before they paid outrageous prices for maintenance that did not need to be done. Four tires, they are just fine. But do not let them con you into fixing stuff on your car always get a second opinion. And for those asking where you can find an honest garage around here. I don't think you can. And to answer the question by Big O. No, I worked for a non profit. I made no money and wasn't your competition. But because of my experience I was asked to double check things coming from various shops there. Big O consistently did a poor job and charged way more than was necessary or even right. It's easy fit into a HUUUUUGE list of dishonest shops. Your tire prices are fine, you should stick to that. Your mechanics were not so great. I was down in Osage Beach for vacation and wound running over a piece of metal in my tire that was causing a small leak in my tire. Lucky for me Big O was right down the street from where I was staying. When I got there they were understanding of my issue as I was from out of state and said they would take a look at it right away. They wound up patching my tire for about $25 and helped me out for the rest of my trip. The guys behind the counter were pleasant as well, they were upfront with me about everything with the tire, and most of all were polite and courteous. I purchased a set of tires with a road hazard package ( extra money) I have had two flat tires on this set of tires I purchased from them. The tires are still like new. I took a tire in to get it fixed and I inquired about the tire may be having a recall or problem they to me no. They told me I would have to wait for tomorrow and they would fix it. I told them I paid extra for them to fix it. The manager and assistant manager became sarcastic. The manager said do you think you're special, you want special treatment. The assistant manager with the BUCK TEETH started getting loud. I have only had 1 flat tire on my vehicles until I purchase my tires from them. I already had the tire off the vehicle. It would have taken them twenty minutes to fix my tire and they said they were to busy. I asked why did I pay for a road hazard. After a short argument with the manager, he told me they weren't going to fix my tire. I told them I wanted my money back on the road hazard and he said they don't give money back for anything. I don't 4 wheel drive or go off-road with them. I drive that vehicle 7 miles a day to and from work all highway. BIG O's BLOWS. This what you get when you spend well over $1,000 on a set of tires. Be warned customers: I took my vehicle in for a tire rotation. I was told my brakes were dangerously worn (4mm on back and 2mm on front) and that it would be close to $700. I did not have the money for the repair so I waited until I could get it scheduled at the State Technical College of Missouri for repairs. When the technical school inspected my car, they told me both sets of brakes were still good. This now makes me wonder if they also falsely told me that I needed a new ball joint the last time I had 4 new tires put on the car. That was an additional $80. By the way, one of those new tires had a broken radial belt and had to be replaced. read more

Waited two and a half weeks for them to make things right please take the time to read this review as I don't want others to make the mistake I did. I recently purchased a set of 20' Michelin tires and had an oil change at the Osage Beach Big O tire store. I was very pleased with the front desk people at the time of purchase, enough so that I purchased the protection plan with the free tire rotations. After leaving the facility on the way home I happened to check the oil life on the truck computer and it had not be reset, no big deal I just reset it and chalked it up to human error. A couple of hours later I was walking past my truck and noticed a dull spot on one of my truck wheels. I notice any mark on my truck as do my best to keep it spotless. To be open and honest I did have one thumbnail size area on the edge of one wheel prior to dropping the truck off at Big O. Upon further inspection all 4 of my wheels had areas that the clear coat was coming off some areas were large some were small, the edge of the wheel was were the larger areas were and I understand that things happen but then I noticed multiple spots around the lug nuts that were chipped. At this point it is becoming clear to me that whoever worked on my truck was being negligent not just a little human error. The next morning I went back to the tire shop to complain and the shop manager I think his name was Derek came out to take pictures of the wheels. He apologized for the issues and told me he would send them to his district manager and I would hear back from in a week as he was on vacation. After hearing nothing back I phoned the shop and was told to bring my truck Friday August the 11th 2017 as the district manager would be there. I was leaving town on vacation and would not be until the next Friday and we agreed I could meet with the district manager on the 21st as that was the next date he would be available. On the 21st I went to the tire shop and was met at the door by one of the shop managers and was told that they didn't know when the district manager would be in could I come back later? I told them I had to run out of town for a while but could bring it in later; they took my cell number and told me that they would call when the district manager was in. At 3pm when I was coming back into town I spoke with the store manager and he told me his district manager had left for the day so I would need to bring the truck in on Friday the 25th at that point I just told him that were going to have to come look at it at my place of work as I could not meet the 10:00 to 2:00 two day a week hours of the district managers availably. Jump forward to Friday the 25th and Kyle the District manager came to my place of work to look at my wheels, I spoke to him on the phone and he tells me that the chips on my wheels have nothing to do with anything that could have happened at Big O. Kyle informed me that the chips were old and that he could tell because he could see corrosion around them and that the clear coat had peeled off into the spokes and there was no way that could have happened in the tire shop. When asked to explain the chips around the lug nut holes his answer was that this is a common problem with GM wheels and was no fault of Big O tires and that the Osage Beach store was one of the best in his district. So at this point Kyle is telling me this is my problem and Big O has no responsibility in the matter, when I asked about refunding the protection plan as I have no use for it now that I have seen the negligent work done on my truck and am not willing to return to the store he told me that the protection plan is not normally something that would be refunded. This I have to say angered me and while I didn't lose it I made it very clear that it wasn't acceptable to me that I would be stuck with that part of the bill too. Kyle told me then to go to the Osage Beach store and maybe they would be able to refund that part of my bill, so we will see how that goes. To summarize I waited two and a half weeks after spending $1600 at Big O and finding damage to my wheels to speak to anyone of authority and he quickly tells me that it is my problem Big O is of no fault at all. Kyle made a point of telling me that Big O is at no fault at all multiple times, great customer service you all have there. I did call around looking for someone that could at least re-apply clear coat my wheels and the best price is $200 per wheel. I guess my review is that you need to add an extra $800 for new tires at the Big O Osage Beach MO tire store and expect absolutely no customer support after the sell. Also take lots of pictures of you wheels before dropping it off I sure wish I did or just find a reputable place to take your vehicle. read more

Although you should never leave anything of value in a vehicle, it is disappointing when workers steal when servicing your vehicle. My son left his ipod in his truck while they were replacing his tires. Although he immediately reported it missing, the manager was unable to find it or resolve the issue. An expensive lesson, but the lack of integrity of the workers there has made us decide to look for another tire company. read more
