Simply put, Nelson did an incredible job, and the results exceeded all our expectations. One of the biggest parts of this project was staining the new handrails and banisters to match our existing flooring. Nelson showed my wife and me a wide range of stain samples, each carefully selected to closely match the tones of our floors. He was patient and helpful throughout the selection process, and the final result was a perfect match to the sample we chose. The stain not only looks beautiful on its own, but it really ties the whole area together and makes everything feel cohesive and intentional. In addition to the staining, Nelson painted all the trim around the stairs and banisters. This fresh coat of paint gave the space a clean, crisp look and really helped the new woodwork stand out. His attention to detail was apparent in every aspect of the project, edges were sharp, lines were clean, and there was absolutely no sloppiness. He also went above and beyond when it came to prepping the area. I hired Alpine Fence & Deck last month to perform a full recondition of my two redwood decks here…read morebehind my home in Sandy. The former owner of Alpine Fence & Deck had just apparently sold the business to the new owner, Chandler, and they kept the price fixed from their August 2022 quote. This was for the usual inspection, pressure washing, sanding, rotten wood replacement, correction & reinforcement of loose wood and railing, a final sanding, and then full staining (using Sherwin-Williams "SuperDeck" semi-transparent deck stain) of the top surfaces AND all underside surfaces (which had never been stained before.) I wanted the underside done this time to properly seal off all the wood surfaces, and yes it cost me more money, but I'll never have to futz with it again. My wife and I picked a rich dark charcoal color instead of the usual redwood color. This dark color uses blue, magenta, and deep gold tints to get this darker hue which - after it was applied - we were very happy with. Alpine Fence & Deck provided all of the stain as part of the quote...and left us with a full unopened gallon for our use. Chandler and his assistant Eliza spent a number of days working the deck in the cooler temps of June and overall we are happy with the effort. Chandler asked me multiple times to check his work and bring to his attention anything he missed or I wanted to be changed. Chandler fixed multiple floorboards and the one wobbly railing, and it all turned out OK. I think the extra effort on the underside paid off but was additional labor that kinda' beat up Chandler and Eliza as no doubt it was exhausting work. Suffice it to say the underside should have been sprayed instead of rolled/brushed as there are visible gaps in the stain that I will ask Chandler to address once this post goes live here on Yelp and Google. I would recommend Alpine Fence and Deck and always suggest that the consumer get everything in writing (like I did with Chandler's electronic quotes) and confirm that Chandler and his team will revisit us next spring and perform some post-winter touch-ups at no cost to us. Four Stars for a good job overall. Thanks!

I had hoped to leave a generous review despite the…read moremultiple troubles we've had and the intense waiting have we've had to play...but this is no longer a supply chain issue...it a "we aren't very organized, we don't care about you very much, and the discomfort and dissatisfaction of our customers doesn't keep us up at night." We got our first quote from this company in February 2021. We got our posts installed early April and we're hopeful that supply chain issues were a nonissue. Our fence panels were finally installed around August but gate issues left part of our fence unfinished. Weeks went on with no communication. We finally started calling weekly. About September we got done posts in. The gate was too small so they had to come out and change it. Weeks went on. It is now December 1st, 2021...they came days ago with the same small gates and said they'd have to build new gates. We've heard nothing from them and I've not been able to have my children use our yard safely because it's not fenced in. I'm angry because we've been incredibly kind and helpful. I'm angry because we're on a half acre lot and four of our other neighbors did their half acre yards with them and they've been completed FOR MONTHS. I'm angry because we've already paid. I'm angry because Nothing is going right. I'm angry because I feel taken advantage of for my kindness and I don't want to be kind anymore. If you use then: beware of the waiting. Get everything in writing and double check their numbers because they tried to up our price multiple times citing supply chain and price changes but...ya'll we signed a contract. Every single person at this company was very kind but I'm still in this hole waiting for my gates. And it's been nearly a year.

Got two independent bids that were thousands cheaper and went with another contractor. Kent then asked for ridiculous fees, including for digging post holes on the wrong side of the property. Tried to negotiate a settlement in good faith but Kent doesn't believe any of the issues are his fault. Keeps blaming us for "changing our minds." Was condescending to my wife throughout. Very, very disappointing.
