If I could give this business a 0/5 stars I absolutely would. I feel like they continuously increase their prices and price gouge their clients. The tech and doctor in training, were heard speaking ill about me and my husband regarding me discussing pricing with him via the phone. They stated something along the lines of "she can't even make a decision by herself" which was not the case, I just felt like it was fishy to be charging me $581 for yearly shots & heart worm medicine. This unfortunately was not the first time I have heard the staff speak about clients and their pets in the hallways outside the rooms. I had the great pleasure of visiting BVDH last week which is the Gold Standard for animal care in west Texas! He expertly treats animals and provides critical care including emergency surgeries with the highest level of effectiveness for the most successful outcomes. This state of the art teaching Hospital has a complete line up of on site diagnostics; Xrays and a CT Scan. As a teaching hospital, they have an open door policy which allows for pet owners to watch procedures including surgeries if they feel comfortable. The Hospital itself has been expanded, updated and has large exam rooms, open treatment centre, an operating room with 2 surgical tables, diagnostic rooms, and a huge education conference centre. In my opinion, this state of the art hospital offers the ultimate in Gold Standard care for Texas pets while this impressive Hospital offers full exposure and hands-on experience for externships to students from within the US as well as upcoming Doctors from abroad. Big Spring Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital - Marshall getting extra love - Veterinarians Near Me - Big Spring, Texas

Just had a VERY disappointing experience with this clinic. On Jan. 18, I asked for an estimate of how much the spaying of my 20lbs dog would be. They printed and handed me an estimate saying it would be $221.56. A little more expensive than most places, but we were willing to pay. They didn't ask me to sign anything, they just handed me the paper and told me the estimate. I scheduled my dog's surgery for Feb. 28 and when I went to pick her up, they charged me $283.37. At the time I did not have the estimate paper with me so I just went ahead and paid. When I got home I realized the huge difference in price so I immediately called. They said "We're sorry, our computer must have had a glitch, but the right price IS $283.37 and NOT the amount on the estimate." They also told me that my dog did not have to have any type of special care/nothing went wrong that would have caused this $60 increase. Given that I was promised a certain price for the surgery I went back to get those $60 refunded. When I got there one of the receptionist was clearly upset that I had requested for this refund because "I did not sign the original estimate paper and they were only issuing this as a one time thing" like they were doing me a favor. That same receptionist was the one who gave me the estimate on Jan. 18 and she NEVER asked me to sign anything because I obviously would have. I do not work there, I do not know their policies, if they don't ask me to sign, I am not going to sign. I was promised a price and that's the price I am going to pay given that there were NO additional services done to my dog. I would also like to mention that my boyfriend went in there the same day to ask for the refund (they couldn't give it to him because I had the card we used to pay) but they didn't even mention anything about the estimate paper not being signed and did not seem upset which is kind of disappointing because clearly they felt comfortable blaming me for not signing the estimate and being kind of rude because I am a woman. I do not plan on going back, but if I ever have to, I'll make sure to bring my boyfriend with me so they don't try to pull anything on me. read more

We were told by them our dog needed his gallbladder removed costing $2000. We decided to get a second opinion. When my husband told her he was going to get a second opinion he eyes about popped out of her head and she was trying to change her diagnosis!!! Gallbladders being removed is NOT COMMON!!! I have had nothing but outstanding service and care for my animals from this vet. Dr. H is always caring, compassionate and gives wonderful advise when needed. I've had one dog operated on by him, another seen by him and just had an ER after hours care for my 5 week old puppies. Every single time the staff and the doc have never let me down. read more

ok, let me update you on what we have here in Big spring, Texas. This hospital is the only real emergency room we have in this area for dogs and cats and other animals. The staff is highly trained , like multiple anesthetists, specialists, etc. They have every newer diagnostic instrument available to successfully diagnose and treat your animal should he or she need help. Both my dogs just had surgery ,, both pretty major. On the second dog I went back and watched the entire surgery. Let me say we are extremely fortunate to have this facility and trained professionals here in West Texas. That being said, you pay for what you get. So if you need low cost, low-tech, wait all day service, and that is all you can afford it might be better for you to look elsewhere. As for me and my family, It's just one more reason I'm proud to be living and working in Big Spring, Texas. read more

I took my dogs into SIERRA animal clinic today . Which used to b Dr Holts clinic . I dont understand y he took his own life . He was the kindest most compassionate an personable man . Who truely loved animals . This new vett they have now i dont care for was very rude didnt introduce herself her tech hurt my dog . They wanted me to let them take them without me going with them an i refused . I will not b going back to this clinic . read more

We are new here and had a pet emergency. The bet we called was closing and referred us all the way to midland. I called this place and the said come on in . The doctor was a good ol boy and very thorough . They took him straight back back and started checking him out . We were there well over on hour and all kinds of tests . 3 assistants lots of equip and drugs and the bill was 100 .00 cheaper than the vet after hours clinic Emma's just to see our dog where we moved from . He has been back 3 times since and they have never tried to get me to do anything expensive. I love this place and they treat my dog buddy like their own pet . I love the gals that work there to . We will never board our dog here again. When he was picked up he was a nervous freaked out wreak. He was filthy and wet with chunks of feces stuck in his fur. When asked about his condition the staff just responded "it happens sometimes". What? That is absolutely ridiculous. read more

I just had a horrible experience at Sierra. I went in to have blood drawn on my dogs for a heartworm test. For 3 years I have always been in the room when anything was done to them, but today,however, was different. I was told I could not go back with them. This was apparently a new rule with the new staff. I said I would be more comfortable being in the room since everyone that was working there was new to me. I was then told I would have to pay for a "dr visit" in order to do that. I decided I would pay for the visit just to feel more comfortable with the situation. Then without even talking with me, I was told the vet, Dr. Hill, said she would not come in the room to draw blood, that it would have to be done in the back without me present. The staff and vet were extremely rude, NOT compassionate at all, unhelpful, and very inconsiderate today. Prior to today, I was absolutely satisfied with Sierra. After today, I will never go back. I am frustrated and heartbroken with what it has become. read more

I think it is totally rediculous that Sierra, which is now Big Spring Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital will see your pets "by appointments only!" It is suppose to be a HOSPITAL for pets! I needed to take a homeless mother cat and her kittens in to be seen. The kittens are getting sick (wheezing, crusty eyes and nose) one had already passed, and I was told that they had no appointment available today, which is Friday therefore it would be Monday before the little kittens could be seen!! Outrageous and unacceptable service or lack of! This place has really gone downhill since the passing of Dr. Holt, who was a very loving and caring vet. I would not recommend this place to anyone! It seems as they do not care for animals the way that a vet or animal clinic should. It really sucks that people in Big Spring has to resort to taking their beloved fur babies out of town just to find a descent vet. If there was a rating option of no stars, that's what I would give, no stars for service! read more
