Proof of vet records. When I discussed this at paws and play on the day of the incident they still denied it and said someone was with my dog at all times. The last paragraph from the vet indicates this could not have been true. Edit: Is this manager out of their mind? They took my dog to the vet but LIED about what caused her injuries. As you can see she was left alone and paws and play refused to admit blame. Save yourself any worry and stay away from this shady establishment. "Symptoms are consistent with some type of strangulation briefly that likely was focused of the left side causing increased pressure to eye rupturing vessels on the sclera and causing trauma to the larynx resulting in inflammation/laryngitis.." We've left our dog there twice now and it's been an excellent experience both times. It's pricey compared to some options, but the people seem nice and our pup has been okay when we pick her up. If you're willing to pay a little extra, they'll put together a daily report card so you can see how your pet is eating and getting along with others. Since most phones have video ability, it would be nice if they'd give you the option of that. They do offer some grooming services, so if you want your pet looking his or her best on your return, you might like that. To date, we haven't used the option so I'm just including this for info. As I said, this is only our second visit but our pup didn't show any distress when we dropped her off for the second time, so that's a positive read more

We absolutely adore leaving our girls here when we have to go out of town. Our very skittish German Shepherd seems to settle in with them more than if we had someone come to the house and they've even managed to send pictures of her being pet! Our Lab adores going. We just moved to Midland and we're looking for a place to keep our two fur babies. One of our pets is very anxious and can be aggressive at first greet. It can be difficult to get people to understand a first approach with him. I called and explained and brought my dog in for an initial visit. The women working were great! They took their time, followed my lead and Chase warmed up. He spent a day working with the staff prior to boarding and they did an awesome job getting him comfortable. When we came to do our first boarding for 4 days, the staff greeted him and put him at ease. They took care of him and our other fur baby-Wallace with great care! We left our two dogs here for the Memorial Day holiday about an 8 day stay. The pups were super tired when they returned home yesterday and were very clean from the groomer we chose to add on at the end. The staff even cleaned their toys for us! All my furry babies love to go there. Our golden doodle jumps out of the back seat and runs to the front door,waiting for someone to open it up!! Our cats don't mind because they get to play on the kitty jungle gym. After four long stays we have no complaints. They come home tired but healthy.They're great and love on my babies! read more

First time taking my dog to the groomer and I was very happy with Paws and Play. They have great prices ($20 for a luxury bath for small short hair dog) and they treated my baby boy so well. He got a Dead Sea mineral mud bath which made him so soft and smell so good. He also got a cute bandana! I was nervous since he has separation anxiety but they took their time making him feel comfortable and he was ready in 2 hours! Thank you will be back! read more

DO NOT EVER LEAVE YOUR PET HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR PETS. I have left my dog, Chief, here 3 times. The previous two times he did not have any issues to my knowledge. Chief is a 3 year old pup and very healthy. However, when I came to pick him up yesterday after a short weekend stay, he was very ill. When I showed up he was outside in the 95 degree heat and did not look like he was feeling well. When they brought him to me he was covered in his own vomit. His bed was also covered in vomit. They said they thought he was overheated, but then why was he stuck outside in the heat? They also did not have any info on how long he had been throwing up nor did they call me over the weekend to let me know he was sick. I carried him out and he threw up again before I could even get him to the car. He continued to throw up on the drive home. Once we got home he sat, vomiting, in his crate and shaking uncontrollably. I had to take him to the emergency vet last night to try to get him help. I am extremely disappointed in this facility for letting my healthy, young dog get this sick. I am also concerned that they are handing him back covered in vomit. Please never ever ever leave your pet at this facility, it is not worth the risk at all. Very disappointed. We made a reservation for a Friday morning drop off at 07:30. We arrived at 07:15, waited and they opened promptly at 07:30. They took our dog, and her toys, gave a few instructions on care and everything seemed fine so my wife and I left for work. Within 25 minutes they called my wife and said we needed to come collect our dog. They cited safety concerns. They didn't even give the dog a chance to settle in. In my opinion they could have just kept her in her own kennel until she calmed down. Weekend plans ruined, because these so called professionals couldn't (or wouldn't) in my opinion handle her. Keep in mind they only gave her 25 minutes. The dog was scared and nervous in unfamiliar surroundings. When I arrived, I offered to go get the dog since they couldn't handle her, and they said they would bring her out to me. So of course I told them, "Well you seem to be able to do that, but she cannot stay?" She walked out with no leash, I had to put it on. Give me a break. Yup, very disappointed. read more

Had a reservation at this facility for months to cover our dog during our summer vacation. They sent us a letter on the SAME DAY we were to leave stating our dog had 2 vaccinations overdue as of the week prior, so they wouldn't take him and then had the audacity to charge us a cancellation fee. This facility has a huge waiting list all summer long in our city (Midland, TX), so we all know darn well that room will be filled today. This situation has caused a massive problem for us to leave on vacation on time as every vet in this town doesn't take walk-ins and is booked 2-3 weeks out. Thanks for nothing, Paws & Play. Notification same-day as we are to drop off our pet is unacceptable and then to throw a cancellation fee on top of it with a waiting list at your facility? Absolutely unethical. My dogs, Ellie and Pippa, always come home clean, happy, and tired. I can tell they love it. It is especially comforting when I drop my dogs off and they run in to greet the staff. They don't even look back, they are just ready to play! My dogs are young and athletic so we needed a place that they could burn off some energy, but safety was our first priority. Our oldest can be timid around new dogs and has separation anxiety. She shows no signs of it here, which gives me peace of mind that she enjoys it and feels safe. Their staff takes care to group the dogs according to their personalities for the dogs' safety and enjoyment. We have participated in boarding, daycare, and training here. All of these experiences have been wonderful. We have tried many other options and this is the safest, cleanest, and friendliest place in Midland for your pets! read more

I love this place! More importantly, my dog loves this place. I've had bad experiences at other boarding places in town and was nervous to try another one. I stopped in and they gave me a very thorough tour answering all my questions and some I didn't ask. Danielle was great and put me at ease when I dropped Louie off. I opted for the daily picture updates and a couple days of doggy ice cream. My dog was happy (and exhausted) when I picked him up and will definitely go back. My only "complaint" is that they are TOO popular and it can be hard to get a reservation. Apparently everybody feels the same way I do! read more

I do NOT recommend this place. My pets came home smelling of urine and requiring a good cleaning but the icing on the cake for me after about 5-6 stays was when both my dogs ended up sick right after coming home from there in late May which resulted in a long- term vet visit. I had previously made a reservation for the Memorial holiday which required a deposit and was about a week after the visit resulting in illness and decided against taking them back after talking to the vet. I cancelled the reservation yet the facility still kept my LARGE deposit. When I tried calling to explain the reason for the cancellation, the manager seemed most interested in the fact I was a day late to cancel and to implement policy rather than make some form of exception due to the circumstance. There's no explaining to the manager who not only won't allow you to speak to the owner/initiate a return call, but who over-rides policy when she wishes to accommodate more dogs or chooses not to implement the two- night stay policy during peak season yet doesn't want to break policy when you're one day late on trying to cancel a Memorial Day reservation after your dogs end up sick at the vet from their last stay and certainly within a time frame that would have accommodated someone on a wait list. read more

I am beyond pleased with Paws & Play. I am not from Midland but had to find a quick place for my dog due to an emergency. I made a reservation for 2 days days but had to change that. They were very understanding. My dog spent the day there and I made a reservation for 2 days the following week. When we arrived he immediately went in and went willingly back with the attendant. I then had to make a reservation for a day the next week. When we arrived that day the attendant immediately called my dog by name and my dog almost broke his neck to go back with him. He didn't even bother to tell me good bye. His little tail was wagging like crazy and he was a happy boy! My dog has boarding at many different kennels because I travel. He has never been as happy to be somewhere, even at his routine boarding facility at home. The personnel were all extremely nice and accommodating. I was thrilled to find Paws & Play because it allowed me to leave my dog without worrying about him. Whenever I am in the area I will always choose them for my boy's safe and happy stay.
