It reminded me of motels from the 1950's that you see in old movies. A time when the owners took pride and individuality in their establishment both inside and out. The rooms are decorated with care and attention to detail. Very calming, peaceful colors. Even down to the switch plates! You could almost call it a boutique motel. The beds are very comfy and the rooms, lobby and grounds were super clean! We felt very comfy and safe. The hosts Jim and Marsha are the best. Very accommodating, polite and courteous. Marsha makes fresh cinnamon rolls every morning for the guests and coffee is available. The outside is very pretty. There is a fire pit with chairs. A couple of picnic tables and grills should you decide to have a cookout. There is a contained dog area and for those who smoke, there's a very pretty area is set up under some trees with flowers scattered around and chairs to sit on with a little butt bucket attached to the 2 seat bench. Highly recommend checking out this lovely motel!

One of the biggest advantages for riders is being able to park directly outside your room, making it easy to unload gear and keep an eye on the bike. The husband-and-wife owners were welcoming and easy to talk with, and as fellow motorcyclists they clearly understand the needs of travelers on two wheels. Check-in was simple and quick. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed provided a good night's sleep, the air conditioning worked well, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. I also appreciated having a refrigerator in the room to keep drinks and water cold after a long day of riding. The property felt well maintained and had the kind of personal touch that is becoming harder to find. The owners also provide homemade cinnamon rolls for guests in the morning. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try one because of a food allergy, but both owners encouraged me to have one, and several other reviews mention them as a highlight of the stay. As a motorcyclist, I appreciated the rider-friendly touches throughout the property. The owners provided some welcome gifts, including stickers, a keychain, and a motorcycle cleaning rag. Those small gestures weren't expected but were genuinely appreciated. They do a nightly fire pit but unfortunately I was too tired from a full day of riding to participate. I appreciate the effort to create opportunities for guests to relax & socialize. I also enjoyed talking with the owners about motorcycles and local riding. They even warned me about a bear that occasionally visits the property, which certainly added some local character to the stay. My only real criticisms are minor. The television was smaller than I would have preferred (NBA playoffs were on), and while the room included seating, I found the chairs somewhat uncomfortable for relaxing after a long day of riding. Seemed more like decorations than functional. A more comfortable chair would have made the room even better after a long day of riding. One thing prospective guests should keep in mind is that dining options are limited within walking distance. If you arrive hungry and don't want to get back on the road, plan ahead. Delivery options were available but carried significant delivery fees. Overall, Fox Mountain Inn was a comfortable, clean, rider-friendly place to stay with welcoming owners and a personal touch that is hard to find. I would gladly return if traveling through the area again. A good place to stay.

We planned this trip as our first anniversary weekend to get away from the chaos of everyday life and it was every bit of what we needed. Unlike other B&Bs, Scott and Loren's home offers a secluded and private setting where you can enjoy the grounds without having to tiptoe around other guests or wait for a good spot on the porch to open up. It offers a level of comfort and seclusion not easily found elsewhere. Their property is amazing with gardens throughout and a quietness you cannot find at other B&Bs. They are incredibly welcoming to their home and go out of their way to make you feel appreciated. While we were secluded from civilization, the home itself offered all of the amenities you could ever need. We especially enjoyed exploring the books on the shelves, sitting on the porch, looking at the many species of trees and plant life, and perhaps best of all Scott's French Toast breakfast. I cannot stress enough just how wonderful our stay was and how accommodating they were to our last-minute changes. We are deeply appreciative for their hospitality and every little touch they put in to make our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back for future stays.

They are not staffed 24/7 but they are very prompt with responding to text messages if you have any questions. I stayed in the Kennedy Cottage which was its own private small space away from the main building. The room was lovely and it was nice to have the privacy and not worry about shared walls. They prepared a wonderful hot breakfast in the morning with fruit and a tartin- kind of an open-faced sandwich. My only complaint is the parking is very awkward, especially if you don't have a compact car, but they have made the most of the landscape.

From the baby grand in the foyer to the comfortable wrap-around front porch, every detail has been thought of for a memorable stay. A bespoke breakfast experience takes place in the toile -covered sunroom with some of the best coffee and homemade yogurt I've ever had. I've stayed in the Martha Washington room a few times because it has everything I need--the perfect mattress, a view overlooking the garden, giant soaking tub, complimentary water and a balcony for my (first) morning coffee. Honestly, meeting Gary and Kitt gave me the definition of southern hospitality. Kitt took care to ask about my dietary needs and adjusted her breakfast menu accordingly. Not only do I strongly recommend at Least one night here, I'm concerned that they'll be too booked up for me to get back in.

We did request an extra blanket and it was brought to our room promptly. Location wise, this hotel is close to the highway (but we didn't hear it from our room). The pool was a little chilly at first, but once you got used to the temperature it was great. The hot tub was also very welcoming though I had problems figuring out how to turn on the jets as nothing was clearly marked (there are timer buttons and not something that you have to turn to start, just look by the red button). Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, and an assortment of both breads and drinks. Though the eggs were still a little slimy, everything still tasted good and the staff was very friendly. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay here again. We were impressed with all the complimentary snack offerings upon arrival. The beds were standard, comfy, and clean. We had a nice little mountain view and it was a cute area. The tub in the shower didn't have a drain plug and looked like it needed to be painted badly, and the water pressure was very weak, that was the only downside, but not a huge deal for an overnight. This trip was no different--after a seven-hour road trip, the four of us (plus my service dog) rolled in, dreaming of a quick swim and some relaxation. Spoiler alert: that dream died fast. We used the Hilton app to check in, but I went down to the desk for a second key so my husband and I could both access the room and amenities. I gave my room number, and--without asking for my name, ID, or even confirming I belonged there--the employee just handed me a key and said, "Have a good night." I'm sorry, WHAT? That's not customer service, that's a security disaster waiting to happen. We stayed in room 504, where we were greeted by a musty, dirty odor strong enough to knock you backward. The room looked like it hadn't seen a dust cloth in years. The bathtub? Absolutely disgusting. Several light bulbs were out. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, the whole place felt like a tropical rainforest with the humidity, and the Wi-Fi (which I need for my work as a REALTOR®) didn't connect at all. To top it off, the shower had no hot water, and by morning, I'd developed a sore throat. The pool was supposed to be our redemption moment. Instead, an interior light fixture came loose while my kids were in the water. We immediately got them out and told the staff. Two hours later, the pool was still open and people were still swimming like nothing happened. Because apparently, here, safety hazards double as "added ambiance." Then there's the "pet relief" area--a 5x5 patch of grass that looked like a landmine field of other dogs' poop, with shards of glass scattered throughout. The bag dispensers were empty, not that I didn't bring my own. My poor service dog deserves better than that. And just when I thought I'd seen it all, I spotted exposed wires on the 5th floor, seemingly connected to a security camera. Nothing says "welcome" quite like loose electrical wiring. The one and only pleasant surprise? Breakfast. It was actually good--shockingly good, given everything else. Unfortunately, one decent meal doesn't erase the fact that this stay was dirty, unsafe, uncomfortable, and far below the standard Hilton promises, especially for Diamond members.

We still had a twenty-minute drive to the lodge when we reached the North gate. The drive was pretty, though, and passed quickly. The circular driveway in front of the lodge was clogged with cars, forcing us to park down the road a bit. No one was around to welcome us, and finding someone took us a bit. Once we did, the valets quickly took care of us, and we were checked in. Our room on the second floor overlooked the 18th green and a valley on the backside of the lodge. It was terrific: large and spacious, with lots of wood and chunky lodge-style furnishings. The bathroom was huge, with a large tub, separate shower, and his-and-hers sinks. The minibar came stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and some snacks. While staying here, we enjoyed their astronomy presentation at the top of the silo, walking on several trails through the nearby woods, time in the spa, and making smores out back by the fire pit in the evening with the other guests. There was a special cocktail hour with apps and drinks, and a chance to talk to some of the local providers of food and items to the hotel. They do an excellent job of using local sources for the lodge. Dining was top notch, except at the Stables family-style restaurant. The Stables was a disappointment. Our other meals though in the lodge were top notch. The staff at Primland is the best, and they are what make this place so special. Come visit in the summer and enjoy the cooler temperatures of the mountains.
