Cashiers also made a mistake not authorizing sales coupons while paying for our own grocery items. They should do better about processing these coupons. On the other hand, They have a brand new self-cleaning robot vacuum used to sanitize floors the way Marty The Robot from Stop & Shop does the job. Today, the woman in front of me typed in her phone number 15 times (yes 15 times) and the terminal still wouldn't take it. The cashier said, "it's not you, it's our system". This is just stupid. Every single visit. Not once in the past 8 months have I had a "normal" check out experience. I bring it up in the store often and they always say "yeah, we know" or "yeah, nothing we can do about it" I'm just saying, the dollar store, Burger King, Walmart, Lowe's, Chipotle, no where else I go ever has issues like this and I know I'm not the only one. The customer in front of me today was embarrassed because she was holding up the line. I'm only mentioning this here because nobody at the store seems to care and someone needs to know to get the technology fixed. I don't want to drive all the way to stop and shop to do my grocery shopping.

Customer service sucks at Big Y especially if you're black. Only friendly to white customers. Sorry black customers, you'll be treated as a second hand citizens at Big Y. I went to cash my lottery winning on 09/13/2020, 11am Sunday morning at this store located at Enfield CT, and this young lady employee was on her phone and totally ignored me until, I said "excuse me". She was very unpleasant- no greetings, no smile, just a stone face attitude. While I was buying the lottery in the vending machine adjacent to customer service area, I notices she was very friendly to the white customers, but when it came to me, her demeanor totally changed. This is just sad behavior because it is either conscious or subconscious behavior from her, I will never know. What I know is, it is wrong and should be called out. I have noticed this substandard service at other Big Y stores as well, even the one in East Windsor near Walmart. I moved from the south thinking up here north, there would be less of racism, not the case at all. read more

This Price Rite is located in front of Hollywood Video, in the same plaza as Raymour & Flanigan. This discount supermarket is owned by the same company that owns Shop Rite and carries name brand products as well as their own Price Rite store brand, similar concept to Aldi and Save-A-Lot. On the way back to NY, I did some grocery shopping here recently. The place was mobbed, especially over the holiday. The produce section is the first section you walk through upon entering the store. This store actually had a decent selection of produce. I've been to other Price Rites where the produce looked picked over. The prices were fairly reasonable for bananas ($0.54/lb, seen it cheaper), lemons, avocados, lettuce, and apples. Orange juice and milk were both $1.99/gallon. Price Rite spaghetti sauce was $0.99/jar, imported Italian pasta was $0.99/lb, dozen large eggs $0.99, and Knorr noodles & sauce $0.94 each (I got this for less at the Schenectady NY store). The Pillsbury cake mix was $0.99 a box. A 10 lb bag of long grain rice is $4.99. Banquet frozen dinners are $0.99 and saw only Pepsi and Price Rite soft drinks in the store. Aisle 6 has a pretty good selection of Goya food and drink products. There were long lines at the checkout which is a sign that many people shop where the bargains are. Major CREDIT CARDS accepted. NOTES: Bring your own bags to save money. Plastic bags are available at $0.10 each and quantities are limited to 4 per each product. Self bagging area in front of the store.
