Found this place after someone I know got a ticket in the Los Banos area and so glad we went with them because it was such a stress-free process. It was the first time I helped out with hiring a traffic lawyer so I can't really comment on the pricing. But considering that the fine costs way more, I think their pricing is fair for peace of mind since a court appearance was required and we lived 200+ miles away. All communication was through email or phone and they provided lots of updates when they showed up to court. Though we didn't get the results we wanted, they still were able to give the best possible outcome without having anything show up on the record. That was the ultimate goal anyway. Only reason why we didn't give a 5 star was because we thought communication through email could be a little better. Every time we sent an email, we would get little to no response unless we called to follow up. Imagine my terror seeing a CHP officer come from ACROSS THE FREEWAY and the center divide only to make a quick U-Turn and pull me over to tell me he had me on radar going over 100 mph. I told him that was impossible, and that he was travelling on the other side of the freeway! But it happened, so i searched for the best lawyers who were local so they could make the effort to appear in court if needed. Thats when i found Bigger and Harman. I paid the fee and sure enough Mark Bigger himself replied and initially we tried trial by declaration ( a written court case ) but sadly i lost as the officer was determined to win and had all the details he needed to prove his case. Then they appealed and got the court to agree to a second hearing in person this time... but when they date came, the officer showed up and it looked like we were doomed... The quick thinking attorneys got a continuance and I cant believe it... the officer didnt show up the 3rd time! Ticket dismissed! Prior to this, I had never been pulled over before or gotten a traffic ticket. I was enthralled in a podcast and not paying attention to my speed on the 5 Fwy going downhill near Gorman in a "construction zone" on a state/federal holiday where no roadwork was being done and all lanes were wide open. Got ticketed, and my speed (91mph) in this supposed "construction zone" was too high to go to traffic school to get points removed or reduced. Found this law firm a few hours later, talked to Mr. Harman, and met him in person the same day. He said he would try to get the ticket dismissed or at least ask the judge to get 2 points reduced and allow for traffic school to remove the remaining 1 point. I didn't really care about the ticket fine, but didn't want my car insurance premium to skyrocket thousands of dollars per year for years with all my cars. To say that working with Bigger & Harman was an absolutely traumatic experience would be an understatement. I would not doubt if the reviews listed below here and on Google/Facebook are fake/made by their own employees. I would, however, like to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that they've since learned from their horrible customer service and overall practice. The screenshot below is an actual interaction I made sure to document that took place literally 4 DAYS before my court case where Paul was going to represent me. You can see how EXTREMELY unprofessional, inconsiderate, and unreliable Paul Harman is for not only FORGETTING to call me after he himself told me he would on Friday, but also not even having the common decency to follow up and reschedule within that same weekend, literally days before the trial. On top of that, for him to justify pushing our call back even further when I confronted him by saying he was going to watch the Trail Blazers??? I can't make this stuff up folks. You can tell from his tone how unapologetic he was up until I called him out on this. He actually thought this was a good reason to inconvenience a PAYING client for a service that is definitely NOT CHEAP. Does this sound like sound logic to you? Coming from the lawyer I hired, no less! I completely understand that personal/free time is a boundary worth respecting and upholding, but there was ZERO communication about him rescheduling, let alone that he would be unavailable to take a call of IMMENSE significance because he would instead be watching a game. And this is only 1 of MANY instances of terrible customer service and complete disregard for a paying client that Bigger &Harman have subjected me to. Trying to get a hold of Paul was like pulling out teeth. And when I did actually manage to get a hold of him at a mutually agreed to time, I would feel mocked, belittled, and beyond uneasy after speaking with him because Paul would "answer" any questions I had for him in a way that made me feel stupid. When a person who has no background in traffic law comes to the traffic lawyer that they ***paid*** for, you would think that they would be able to get help instead of feeling as if they were better off consulting Google search instead. At no point in time throughout the entire process (Dec 2018 - May 2019) did I once feel confident that the services I had paid for were actually going to help my case. I cannot emphasize enough how absolutely traumatic this experience was for me. It should go without saying that ultimately, Paul ended up losing the case, leaving me with several fees to pay for extremely lackluster service. This experience legitimately made me start going to therapy because I genuinely felt emotionally abused and fully taken advantage of by the same person I thought was going to make me feel at ease about my situation. It wasn't even the fact that Paul ended up losing the case that made me so upset. I understand that in some cases, there are low chances for success at dismissing such tickets (mine was for speeding). But how I was mistreated by Paul throughout the entire process is what really stuck with me, and will continue to stick with me forever. ***If you see raving 5 star reviews immediately after this one, just know that they have people that try to bury bad reviews so people do not see these ones*** Shame on you, Paul Harman.
