My first review was posted on July 5th. It was not positive but it was honest and it was my…read moreopinion. Mr. Underwood phoned me the following business day and he was quite unhappy. Full disclosure - I was not in the court room as I reside 1,800 miles from Bakersfield. But I personally selected Underwood Law as our representation based on a lengthy and very positive conversation I initially had with Mr. Underwood. Full details were disclosed and his response was extremely optimistic. We moved forward at the tune of $6,000. The optimism remained steadfast throughout all preparatory conversations with the paralegal making it known that she had never lost a case. On the day of our hearing Mr. Underwood suddenly stated to family that was in attendance that we could easily lose this case. We've no idea what caused this turnaround. Perhaps learning who the sitting judge was, perhaps having read the defendant's statement (we've yet to see this), we do not know. The case was lost in a matter of minutes. Back to Mr. Underwood's call regarding my review - we talked. He felt that I had been misinformed and he said he was going to put together a cover letter outlining the sequence of events, a copy of the petition that was filed on our behalf and finally a copy of the defendant's written response. He asked for a couple of days. In all fairness to Underwood Law, I removed my review pending his side of the story. Ten days later, having heard nothing, I inquired as to the disposition of said documentation. I was told that Ms. Medina was going to prepare the file and mail it out. That was 13 days ago and still crickets. It's a puzzling operation they run. Again - just my experience and my opinion. Dissatisfaction with the service of Underwood Law seems even more reasonable at this point.

The court appointed this clown to my case in a contempt hearing. 6 weeks before the case I contacted his office. His minder, an absolute horror, spoke to me as if I had pissed in her coco pops. Be warned - This woman is something special. Anyway, back to the clown in question. He refused to meet me to discuss the case. I called 4 times over that 6 week period and each time was treated like they had to scrape me off their shoe. Still, he refused to even talk to me on the phone let alone meet with me in person. The night before the hearing he finally called me to meet him in the hallway outside the courtroom. Right up to the time of this 'meeting' in the corridor outside the courtroom he still had not even read my case and rather than taking the time to discuss the case then, all he wanted to do was show off how much he was making from bankruptcy cases ($40,000 to $50,000 a month) and he was only taking my case because his usual business was slowing to a halt - I wonder why... Even in the courtroom, during the trial, he had not and made no effort at all to even skim through the papers, occasionally shouting objection for no apparent reason other than making it look like he had some skin in the game. Even the judge was looking at him and wondering what this guy was objecting for. He didn't ask the complainant a single question - not one! And the only questions he asked me was about distance between houses - still noone knows why - in my opinion he was useless, skimming the cream, conning the court, conning his victims. This guy single handedly lost the case and skipped out of the courtroom without even a goodbye - just a big dopey grin as he went to collect his check. Do not even contemplate going to this guy for defense - he is horrible horrible man and I would for sure give him less yelp stars if it was possible. If you hire this guy after reading this review, you deserve to lose. Oh by the way - he had another yelp page that was full of terrible reviews but that page seems to have disappeared... hmmm.....

I was referred to Joe by another Attorney that did not work in the Bakersfield/Kern County area. I was a bit skeptical about what Joe could do for me and the price was a bit more than what I wanted to spend. I spoke to many other firms that wanted my business but they were even more expensive than Joe. I knew that I needed help, I need to get this ticket off my record and did not want the points either. I hired Joe and his office to represent me and do the best they could for me. I am very happy to say that Joe was able to have the ticket and points removed from my record, Whew! After traveling over 280 miles to Kern County superior court ,a judge refuse to reduce case to a modify charge .I contact Joe Whittington office the same day and immediately got to work . Joe and his team were very transparent and easy to reach through the whole process. They were responsive and gave meaningful insights and confidence that they would succeed. I had called several other lawyers and Joe imbued me with the feeling that his team was the one that I needed to take on this case. He also gave me a quote that I just couldn't refuse. I had a ticket for over 100 in Kern County and they successfully managed to get this case dismissed, which took a huge load off of my back and my mind. This review is long overdue, but I had to come back and show some appreciation. I caught a speeding ticket after a little too spirited of a drive down to LA from the Bay Area. I knew that getting representation would be a worthwhile bet given that a) I could be represented without having to make multiple trips to Kearn county, and b) it would save on insurance in the long run. The TicketWarriors office was professional throughout the process, and they used every tool at their disposal to give me the best shot at winning. Ultimately, my case got tossed. After receiving a speeding ticket while on my way to a bike race I did a google search and thankfully found this law office. I was ticketed for 90mph....although I am pretty sure I was not going anywhere near that fast, with a bike rack on the back of my car and not being familiar with the roads in Bakersfield with my exit coming up I was definitely not going 90mph....but that is another story. Anyhow, I called up the law offices, and they got everything dismissed. No ticket, no points, no extra charges, just the payment to the law offices for their services. I found TicketWarrior after making several unsuccessful calls to various defense lawyers in an effort to fight a speeding ticket my son got near the Central California coast.
