The Pimento Grilled Cheese on jalapeño corn bread with fried Green tomatoes and bacon. Awesome!

Hard over cooked Chicken nuggets and cold fries

Bigs was a BIG disappointment. We were trying to support the small businesses in this Covid time. The food was flavorless and cold. We are there as a family of 6, everyone was very grossed out. We didn't even finish our food and that is a rare thing when I have 4 boys. But it was that bad. I even had to get everyone at our table our own refills. We r from out of town and in our opinion that is unacceptable.

Cheeseburger with fries

Being from out of town, we searched online for a great hamburger restaurant and found Bigs listed first in Batesville, so we decided to try it. They close at 3:00 pm on Wednesdays and we arrived at 2:10 pm. They have a good variety of options on the menu but we came for the burgers, so we both ordered the Old Fashioned Cheeseburger with fries and a beverage. Prices are over $12 for a burger and fries and with that in mind, we expected a really good burger. Sadly, both our burgers were over cooked and dry. The hamburger patties are hand pressed but small, more like a kid's size burger. If the cook had not pressed all the juices out of the burger when they were cooking it, it could have had more flavor. One of the burgers had way too much mayonnaise on it. I would have rated this place one star however, the homemade French fries were good, hence, they get one more star. The atmosphere is really lacking and needs refreshing. Seriously, it's just not worth $32 for two small burgers with fries and a beverage. Try something else.

It was a nice addition to downtown. Great atmosphere. I felt the prices were a little high for sandwiches. Lunch for two was $24 with both getting sandwiches and soft drinks. Still great food, and the staff is friendly. We will go again, just not too often.

Best Reuben ever.

This place is WHY I use Yelp! So glad I found it...such a cute place, friendly staff. Love the concept: walk in, someone takes your drink order and gives you your drink, order your food and pay, then go to the kitchen counter and pick it up when they call your name (ie. "Reuben for Velma!") And it was the best Reuben I've ever had. Ever. Hands down. They apparently cooked the meat and the sauerkraut together, so every bite was perfectly proportioned (and that's important...) Oh! And the fries are legit, real, fresh-cut potatoes like your mom would make. Such a great experience. Not disappointed at all...would absolutely recommend and return.

We visited this restaurant based on the awesome Yelp reviews because our sons were playing against Lyon college today. What an awesome restaurant! I had the turkey sandwich and my husband had the patty melt--both hit the spot for an awesome lunch! The town is charming and the owner Sherry was very hospitable. People make a difference and at this restaurant, everyone was gracious and personable. We will be back again in two years when our teams meet again in Batesville!

Big's of Batesville The Amazing Little Hometown Burger Shop This is a great little restaurant located on the corner of Central Avenue and Main street. The building once housed an Army & Navy surplus store and before prohibition had a bar in the basement. The two story building has a very large vintage Coca-Cola mural painted on the Central Ave side, you can't miss it. You typically walk up to the register, place your order, seat yourself and someone brings your order. If you skip the register and sit down, someone will come along and take your order! When your done, you head up to the register, tally up and you are on your way. They seem to be doing things right, they have a POS that generates tickets and the communication is very good between front and back of house. My favorite is the California burger with egg. The fries are hand-cut, made on location and never frozen, each meal comes with a very generous portion of the fries that are cooked to perfection. The deserts are made in house. Definitely the best burger in town. In this Town, the service and quality of food from the staff at Big's is unmatched. Best place in town, hands down. This is the kind of place that deserves your business, because they are doing everything right! Pro: Great food, friendly staff, and an attractive place to eat at. Reasonable prices. Establishment maintains a high state of cleanliness. Con: No Beer Parking may be limited workdays

Ordered the Beverly and added pastrami on jalapeno cornbread with cajun fries. I did expect more meat but that's probably because I'm used to Texas portions, especially when adding extra meat. But overall very delicious, enjoyed the Cajun fries, which remind me of Five Guys' and service was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stop here again the next time I'm in the area.

Love the atmosphere almost as much as the food!

This is by far my favorite place to eat in Batesville!! I love the atmosphere, the food and staff are AMAZING, and I highly recommend it to everyone who visits our small town.

BEST fried pickles at Big's in Batesville, AR.

Nice gem of a find. Service incredible. Everyone happy with their meal, from 2 year old to 70 year old. The onion rings were good, but the fried pickles were AMAZING. They make everything in house for them. My kids loved creating art on the chalk boards. I visit Batesville about once a year and this might be on the only must-do I've ever had on my list.

However, the wise and folks that love to explore, will insist on experiencing what's most important--the food, service and atmosphere. Hands down, this place prepared one of the best tasting and presentable steaks I've ever had! It was seared with perfection, tender and melted in my mouth with flavorful juices. The service was amazing! Services was amazing because they were being themselves and moving with a sense of urgency. They weren't trying to put on "a show of perfection". Constant communication amongst themselves and with customers. That feeling you find in a happy, warm and family oriented place usually called home. No fancy name needed to the restaurant, or corporate owned image that chain restaurants have. Just a restaurant conjoined to a convenience store/gas station, that can easily put to shame big name restaurants. Whomever may read this review of mine, do yourself a beautiful gesture...come indulge and enjoy an epic steak, or even something else off the menu. Oh yeah, and their apple cobbler and strawberry cake are super!

My wife and I have been to Mike's Place many times for many different occasions over the years…read more It's our go-to restaurant when we want delicious food and dependable service. The restaurant is decorated tastefully in a quaint New Orleans style, and the atmosphere is dress casual and calm, perfect for nice, quiet get together. The restaurant is not designed for a high volume of people, so reservations are best because they stay busy. As I mentioned, Mike's Place is New Orleans themed, and the menu reflects this style, but there are many delicious options. My wife and I made 6:00 pm reservations for our 41st wedding anniversary. We arrived around 5:45 pm but we were seated before 6:00. Our server, Dallas, was very friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs. We first ordered the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. This arrived quickly and was hot and well prepared. The Coconut Shrimp comes with a delicious dipping sauce. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Atlantic Salmon with fried okra and baked potato, all of which was served hot and well prepared. My wife has dairy allergies and she requested a butter substitute for the baked potato, and Dallas was able to provide margarine instead of butter. I ordered the Commodore's Platter, which comes with Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab Claws, White Fish and Shrimp with salad and one side. You can get the seafood prepared grilled, blackened or fried. Even though a "platter" sounds like a lot of food, it was filling but not too much. This was another excellent experience at Mike's Place, and we'll definitely be back!

Besides the reviews here I had heard from a few locals that this place was a good place for dinner and nobody has anything bad to say about it. I'm happy to confirm that was the same result for us. We were seated quickly even without a reservation around 5:30 this evening. We ordered the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer and a round of cocktails. They were served fairly quickly considering how busy they were at the time. For dinner I got the pecan crusted white fish and my friend got the blackened white fish. Both tasted delicious which was great. My wife got a Cesar salad and a loaded bake potato and it was also good. The service was great as well. The waiter and other staff were very attentive and checked on us regularly. The overall feel of the place is casual upscale. It's nice without being fancy. It has kind of a rustic vibe to it that is nice to look at. We enjoyed our experience here and would come back again when we're in town.
