Reasons FilmScene is a must see: 1. Amazing new facilities with uber comfy seats. 2. Great concessions selections. Especially the craft beer and don't skip out on the popcorn! 3. Pricing is on par. 4. Movie selection is well curated and this location does often have some of the more 'mainstream' flicks. Like James Bond, Batman or Twisters. 5. The staff is passionate, professional and friendly. 6. Parking is simple, just park in the Chauncey ramp! 7. Movies in the Park! There is an outdoor series with generally family friendly flicks offered summer through fall! Overall, I feel so fortunate to have this amazing independent theater in my metro! The movie theater itself is fine. The hot dog was made to order and was pretty bad. the bun was cold and chewy. The hot dog tasted terrible. Everything else was fine. The people working here are pleasant and trying. It's not their fault that these kind of theaters, in malls, are dying out with the malls. At least i hot to see my movie.

The space is bright, open with plenty of space to mill about before going into the theatre. Beautiful exposed brick and hardwood floors give character to waiting area. The actual theatre is on the second floor and there is an elevator or stairs available to get up there. The staff is very kind and helpful. There is a coat check and a bar/café open before the production (and during intermission) with snacks, coffee, water, and wine for sale. We saw some great blown glass, plenty of paintings and lot in between. Everyone here is obviously proud of what they're doing and it shows in the pricing. Worth you time if you're looking for something out of the ordinary. The food row is the same stuff that often shows up downtown and ranges from Gyros, to chicken to Korean tacos and bubble tea. It's good stuff and an increasing number of them are taking credit cards, which makes things a lot easier. There's plenty for kiddos and a parade of Friday evening. Well worth checking out, with or without the kids.

Another great time in Amana for Oktoberfest…read more We were here all week but spent the most time in town on Friday. The weather was great. We did quite a bit of shopping at the quaint shops in town, then had lunch under the Oktoberfest tent. The Trotter (smoked pork shank) was excellent! We made our way into Festhall and sat with our friends and was entertained by Barefoot Becky and her band. Saturday brought the rain to Oktoberfest but there were still a lot of people in town. We look forward to our next time here in Amana at a future Oktoberfest.

I loved getting the Amana Wurst Festival pint mug that was made out of silicone and tie-dyed in color; however, I feel like it was way overpriced, as it cost $17 and then I had to pay for the beer inside of it and it was $5 per fill. The Festival was kind of a disappointment with the disorganization of events hosted during the Festival and with the long lines that you had to wait in just to taste a piece of what they were selling. And oh boy if you were in the wrong line, or if you wanted to try more than one item, then you pretty much had to be there all day with the slow-moving lines. It seemed like the whole event could have been planned out better with the landscaping available. I will probably not be making it back to this event.

I can't overlook how magical it is to be an Iowa-native and walk into this roaring stadium on a Saturdays. The last time I came to a game was against Michigan State during Iowa's 2025-2026 campaign. Our guys should have stomped the yard against them and ended up winning on a field goal as time expired. Classic. Epic seats for that one as well. Kinnick, you're a gem…read more I've spent over a dozen seasons here. The electric victories, come from behind shockers and of course, heartbreaking losses. There's no place like Kinnick Stadium on College Game Day. A few tips- - Arrive Early-- while they now have metal detectors at entries which speeds things up, it does take 15 or so minutes to get to your seat. - There's no re-entry. - Cashless! Bring your credit card. - Digital Tickets. Be sure yours are loaded in your wallet on your cell phone. - Alcohol is served in the stadium. Two beers per person at a time. - Clear Totes Only. 12x12 limit. - Checkout the Nile Kinnick statue! Oh, and don't forget to Wave! Between the first and second quarter fans are asked to wave to the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital. Make the kiddos' and families' day a bit brighter-- they are fighting to get healthy each day for various reasons. Overall, there's not a ton of amazing things to do in Iowa. But attending a Hawkeye football game at Kinnick is indeed amazing and worth a trip.
