Go Hawkeyes! What an excellent way to spend a Saturday, than watching the Iowa Hawkeyes beat Illinois Fighting Illini. 6-0 what a great start to the season. Kinnick is an excellent place to watch the game, we were able to see pretty much everything that was happening and what was happening was the Hawkeyes beating the Illini 29 to 20. What a perfect day for football, the weather was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic. I loved all the tailgating before the game and we parked close by and had about a five minute walk to the game.

Most incredible experience! If you ever have a chance to catch a Hawkeye game, DO NOT pass it up!!! The sense of history and the excitement of the students and alumni will heighten your senses. The cold, crisp air will leave you feeling alert and exhilarated. The tempo of the band will beat in rhythm with the blood in your veins. And, all will culminate with the roaring of the crowd as the team swarms out of the tunnel and into the field. Just a few tips: rub Kinnick's helmet outside the main gate for luck; sit in the student section if you can because the energy is incredible, go on black and gold day because the stadium looks really cool; wear comfy shoes because they stand for the WHOLE game; and do your drinking beforehand because they have no beer here. Don't miss this one, folks!

The home of the Hawkeyes! A great place to enjoy the game and chill with 70,000 of your closest friends!

The 85 year old stadium has a lot of history and character with brick construction, arched entryways and pink visitor's locker room. There is little room on the sidelines so the fans are very close to the players making it a loud venue for it's size. Hawk fans have been quite loyal filling the stadium to 70K+ capacity for almost every home game. It's a classic college football venue and a good place to tailgate and watch a game. The concession vendor, Aramark, really sucks serving sub quality food at overly inflated prices even for stadiums. That knocks down the experience by a star. They do allow you to enter the stadium with a bottle of unopened water which is pretty cool.

Best stadium ever... even better fans. The new additions are sick and hopefully the Hawks can pull out a Big Ten title in 2012.

Stay home, it just an over priced drunk fest. Better food, company and view at a friends or your house.

What a fabulous addition to the IRL. I can't WAIT until they get some more concerts scheduled…read more (This arena can hold 6k+ for concerts!) This gem opened in 2020. The Iowa Hawkeyes volleyball teams and the professional ice hockey team Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL both play here. The arena is also attached to GreenState Family Fieldhouse which houses five different courts. As someone who played competitive basketball for years as a kid, I can totally see some amazing tournaments being hosted here! I came for a Friday night Heartlanders game. What an amazing atmosphere. and a beautiful facility. Staff was very friendly. Food was actually pretty darn good for arena food-- those brats, kettle chips and chicken tenders were crowd pleasers! PRO TIP: Don't forget to bring a clear bag! +'s Craft beer in 16oz cans. I love that Big Grove and Backpocket is sold here! Hockey. Holy cow. I haven't watched a hockey game in-person since I lived in Denver. I love that we now have a hometown team to root on. -'s Parking. I don't know if maybe a parking ramp is in the future, but be warned parking is a bit tricky as of now. Price. I found pricing to be a bit high when it came to getting the party suite. I am used to getting all inclusive tickets or party suites at MLB games and the bang for buck of going to a Heartlanders game is less, surprisingly. Keep a lookout for upcoming children's shows (Disney on Ice) and other sporting events! I know I'll be back many, many times.

What can you say about this gem of a theater but has not already been said? Having worked at movie…read moretheaters throughout college I can tell you that the pressure for the big movie theaters to play the biggest movies that will sell out or bring it the largest crowd is, is immense. Those theaters rarely take any kind of risk with a small movie that may or may not be the next Hollywood blockbuster. Honestly, they really are a blockbuster hit but are often really good movies that have a voice which should be heard. That is where Film Scene comes in. It fills the void created by monstrous movie theaters which are more concerned with the quality of their heated reclining seats as opposed to the quality of the movie. Now, you should know, when you go to see a movie at this theater, do not expect super comfortable seats. There are some good seats in the back of the theater but the closer you get to the screen, the worse they are, so be sure you get there early. The concession stand is reasonably priced with a good selection of candy, decent popcorn, and a wonderful selection of beer. I would also highly recommend the rooftop viewing of any movie they show. It is really awesome up there. Get some tickets, grab some popcorn, twizzlers, a cold beer, and enjoy a really good movie lovingly presented by true film lovers.
