Starting point was the same as end point, I forgot to start my watch on time. 7 mile route.

Great tour! I went solo and was grouped with 6 other people, some who were also solo. I thought 3 hours would drag but it actually went fast. There was beautiful weather which made this extra enjoyable. So many people warned me, Pittsburgh is a hilly city, why are you doing a bike tour?! The company and the reviews don't lie- the route is flat and easy! There was one small section of switchback inclines to get up to a bridge, that was the hardest part and still no big deal. You can expect stop and go riding, so it's just a little bit at a time. The guide Doug was very knowledgeable and he admits he likes to talk too much. I'd prefer a little less talking and more riding but I still very much enjoyed the tour. The bikes are prepped with a water bottle holder and small leather pouch for personal items. Bikes were comfortable and in good condition. Got a cute little Heinz pickle pin for a souvenir.

My wife & I took the Bike the Burgh Tour this weekend led by Dave. Highly recommend! Dave shares a lot of the history and architecture of Pittsburgh. The pace was comfortable for all levels of bike riders. Everyone was very friendly and patient. Bike people are the best! We enjoyed our tour so much that we returned the next day and rented bikes to explore picturesque Pittsburgh on our own. Take this tour. You won't regret it.

I went on a bike tour led by Dave. The 3 hours bike ride was fun and easy as it was very flat for the most part. Dave was very friendly & knowledgeably to the area. The tour was fun. Everyone in our group worn masks at all time. I really enjoyed the tour and would recommend it.

This was the perfect way to get a quick ground level view of Pittsburgh. Our guide Dave was personable, knowledgeable and a super nice guy. In 3 hours we had a great overview of the city and that orientation served us well for the remainder of our visit. We recommend these folks to everyone who wants to pedal Pittsburgh!

Just a fantastic experience - not too quick, no big hills to climb - and the trip along the rivers and across all those bridges was amazing and memorable. Our guide "Dave" was knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time as well as being a highly experienced cyclist

We were in town for a few days and booked our tour online the night before. To our surprise, the tour was just the two of us with our guide Dave. He is very active in the biking community and we felt very safe and confident with him as our guide through the city streets. Pittsburgh is a pretty bike friendly city so feel confident in your decision to tour. We are from Florida so hills are not something we encounter. There were a few inclines to traverse but we managed to handle them. Dave shared with us lots of local history. The tour was just over 3 hours. I was surprised the tour ended at the market square instead of where we began our tour. We ended up getting lunch in the square and then figuring out our way back to the Golden Triangle Bike Shop to return our bikes.

My husband and I had the best time during this bike tour, it was the highlight of our vacation!. Kane, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and super pleasant. We highly recommend Bike the Burgh tour.

Somehow or another I didn't realize you could walk across all to most of the bridges in Pittsburgh. As soon as I found that out, it changed the game. We walked from our downtown hotel, across a bridge to the incline, up the incline, more walking/eating up top, back across to Point State Park before heading back to the hotel. We did this on the day of the concert so it was the perfect way to fill the daytime. Overall, the incline is fun. It's a relic of the past and I think a great asset to the city. At the bottom, there's next to nothing(missed opportunity I think). At the top, you have views, various restaurants, and historical markers. There was a trail of some kind we were on. It had a few historical markers on it and appeared to go on forever. We didn't have time that day to explore a ton but we did check out a portion. I didn't realize the French claimed Pittsburgh for years at one point. They fought off the British, Native Americans and anyone that came along for 5-6 years. The worst thing about it is needing cash to travel but it is a cheap trip. 2.50 each way. That's a steal compared to making it up that hill some other way. If you're in Pittsburgh, I think this goes on the must-list. You should at least check it out once.

Total distance is about a mile, but you do have to go up some stairs and of course across two bridges. The views the entire time are breath taking. The actual incline looks like it hasn't been touched much since it opened in 1877. I love that about it. I had a great time taking a video from the bottom to the top and taking photos along the way. The price is $2.50 one way for adults, and $1.25 one way for kids over 6 years old. The last tram trip is at 12:30am.

The views are spectacular, rolling hills and so many colors of green and blue were breathtaking. Mile 9 was NOT our favorite mile. There is trail maintenance happening and that's a GOOD thing, but...the gravel is thick in many areas so riding the bike was sketchy at best. Thankfully it wasn't much more than that mile. I loved the train track right next to the trail and my prayers were answered when, lo and behold, a train appeared! It was stopped so as to clear a fallen tree but once removed (minutes) they were on their way. The train was filled with people who were happy to see bikers on the trail as we were happy to see, and wave at them. Great trail.

This is absolutely a treat for anyone with roots here or a fascination with industry and manufacturing. The highlights: Most tours are guided by former steelworkers and people with a first-hand involvement in the steel industry. You get a great overview of the plant, which was the center of life for this community and the lifeblood of the region for more than a century. Our tour placed a heavy emphasis on the engineering and technology of steelmaking, so if that's your thing, it's Christmas. And it's a minor miracle that these two blast furnaces have been preserved. I would suggest that they augment the tours with photos or videos that might help bring these hulking structures to life a bit more, and maybe insert some specific stories about immigrants and working families, union battles, and other colorful bits about Homestead. Sure, a windfall of donor support and a visitor center would go a long way to improving things on that score, but a little shift in emphasis could be done on a budget. Either way, Rivers of Steel is hugely important for preserving the region's steel heritage, and their efforts to extend that support to the community are vital.
