I purchased the vehicle new in December 2023, and within the first week, it began experiencing both mechanical and electrical issues. Over the course of the next several months, the vehicle was brought in for service a total of 17 times with no definitive diagnosis, despite consistent concerns regarding loss of power and significantly reduced fuel mileage compared to my previous 2021 model with the same engine and transmission configuration. The turning point came when the service team finally inspected the fuel system and discovered a failed Denso fuel pump, which had deposited metal shavings into the fuel filter, along with a malfunctioning ECM module. While I appreciated that the root cause was finally identified, the subsequent handling of the repair process was extremely disappointing. I dropped the truck off on June 7, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., and for over 10 days, I received no communication--despite multiple phone calls, texts, and voicemails. It wasn't until I contacted Justin, the General Manager, on June 17th that a rental vehicle was arranged. On June 19th, I finally received a text from Dennis in the service department stating the parts had arrived and that my truck should be ready by the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Unfortunately, those dates passed without any updates, returned calls, or responses from Dennis or the service team. I began following up daily, only to be told that the service advisor was on vacation, the technician was unavailable, or that parts were still missing--despite written confirmation that the parts had been received. These excuses continued well into July, even as I left for a scheduled vacation of my own without access to my vehicle. On July 9th, after escalating the matter once again to Justin and speaking with Josh, the Service Manager, I was finally able to retrieve my truck--more than a month after it was initially dropped off. What is most concerning is the consistent lack of communication, accountability, and transparency throughout this process. I was even told by Dennis that part of the delay was due to me "talking to too many people" while trying to locate my own truck and get updates. Blame was passed repeatedly--from the mechanic, to the parts department, to the internal computer system--rather than anyone taking ownership of the delay. As a consumer, I do not purchase a new vehicle to have it sit at a dealership for over 30 days, especially not without proactive communication or customer service. The mechanical issue may have originated with the manufacturer, but the poor logistics and unprofessional handling of the repair are squarely on the shoulders of the service team at Mark Porter Chevrolet. While I am relieved to have my truck back, I cannot recommend this service department based on my experience. I strongly urge management to address internal communication workflows and staff accountability in order to avoid putting future customers through the same frustrating ordeal.

The salesperson was Homer Wilson, he was very pleasant, knowledgeable and was very easy to work with on my purchase. Within an hour of pulling in to look, I was heading home in my new vehicle!! The River City dealership family has gained another loyal customer with me. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new vehicle to look at their dealerships.

I've been told on no less than 4 occasions over the past 3 and a half years that they would order parts and get back to me. This never happened. In the last instance of this they waited for a program to elapse that would have gotten me a 2nd key I was told that I would receive back in 2021. So now I don't have the key I offered to buy or the one that was offered by Ford for free. This dealership is an embarrassment and whatever poor excuse for management that is in charge of it should be terminated immediately.

I REALLY appreciate their no-nonsense approach, finding it so refreshing after several frustrating interactions at various dealerships across the area. No sales manipulation taking place here. I didn't feel "sold to" so much as "guided through" the experience. I also learned that if you have a specific vehicle you want, if you let them know, they will be on the lookout and do their best to get it there. I highly recommend you stop by and introduce yourself. Don't be fooled by the seemingly low inventory on this small lot. It's like seeing only the tip of the iceberg. They restock nearly as fast as they sell!

We went to another dealership to look at and test-drive a Ford Bronco Sport, then went back to this dealership for my wife to test-drive the Crosstrek. The salesman asked my wife for her driver's license, which she provided (as she did at the Ford dealership). The salesman then asked for a copy of our insurance, and she produced our USAA insurance information on my cellphone, but the salesman said he needed a physical copy. When my wife noted that the Ford dealership permitted her to test-drive a vehicle by presenting only her license, the salesman abruptly and rudely told my wife, "We don't want your business," and, at that point, we left the dealership, never to return. If someone at this dealership will treat a customer so rudely over something so insignificant, it isn't a dealership with which we care to do business.

I drove about 10 feet before my Jeep shut down inside the dealership garage with multiple warning lights. The dealership kept my vehicle for six days. Initially, I was told I needed an auxiliary battery before they could continue diagnosing the issue. After some pushback from me not being happy about having to spend nearly $600 on a new auxiliary battery they later covered the battery and labor under warranty. They eventually diagnosed a blown fuse, which cost me over $200 to replace. My frustration isn't just the repair bill--it's that my Jeep arrived at the dealership running normally and became disabled immediately after the recall inspection, yet I never received a clear explanation for why that happened. I also wasn't provided a loaner vehicle while my Jeep was out of service for nearly a week. This wasn't my first concerning experience here. Last year, this dealership replaced part of my Jeep's electrical system and told me everything was fine. Less than a week later, my Jeep shut down while I was driving on the highway several states away. An independent shop ultimately replaced both batteries to resolve that issue. I appreciate that the dealership continued diagnosing my Jeep rather than immediately sending me home, and they did cover the auxiliary battery under warranty. However, based on my experiences, the communication, confidence in the repairs, and overall customer experience have left me disappointed.

She said she had it noted and they'd call if they gotten any in. Less then a week latter I got a call back from a gentleman. He Said they had gotten a car in that seams to be exactly what I was looking for. We went to Huntington. One look is all I needed and I knew it's exactly what I wanted. Ya see, my husband and I had gotten our first new'ish car in February of 2019. It was a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder. O it was the perfect car, it was perfect size. I wanted a 3 row seater because I have 3 kids, sense I live in McDowell Co. West Virginia I wanted something I could lock into 4 wheel drive; We have some rough winters and rougher roads. But I didn't want anything big like a van or a traverse. When I seen The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder, I fell in love, it matched my demands perfect, but there was 1 problem. The 2013-2018 Nissan pathfinders didn't have Bluetooth music streaming. Your iPhone had to be plugged into usb for music. that was just something we'd have to live with. So we got the 2016. Not from this car lot. It was a different company for that car. Unfortunately 6 weeks after we got the 2016 someone ran me off the road into a deep ditch. The passenger side undercarriage almost directly between the front and back doors hit the ground hard when my wheel went into the hole on the side of the road. The curtain air bag deployed and the passenger side seat air bag deployed. The insurance declared it a total loss. I cut the air bags out and drove it as is for right at a year before deciding to turn it in. The insurance company set us up with a rental through enterprise rental. That's where enterprise sales come in. As I'm trying to find the renal site to schedule my rental pickup I came across enterprise car sales. I explained that I wanted the Nissan Pathfinder 2020. Because I loved the 2016 so much. But I wanted music streaming had to be Bluetooth. within the week this gentleman called. When we got there everything seamed to be in order. But then the financing bank for the 2016 wouldn't give us the go ahead. The new bank needed the old bank to show that the 2016 was paid in full so we wouldn't be on the hook for 2 vehicles. It took 2 weeks after we paid the down payment. Before we could actually bring our car home. In mean time we're driving a rental. The insurance company had quit paying for this rental 7 days after we gotten it because the 2016 was considered a total loss. The gentleman at enterprise car sales said that sense we already paid the down payment for the 2020 and the bank was holding us up. Then he would contact enterprise car rental's and explain to them what was going on. The rate for the rental was $37 daily the insurance company was only paying $30. But enterprise rentals was hounding me to come and sign a different contract that was going to rase the rate from $37 daily to $98 daily! I don't know anyone that could afford that kind of rate to rent a car for any reason. So I explained this to the gentleman at car sales. He called the rental company and had a little trouble with them, but alimentally got the charges lifted for a week. Then the wait went into week 2. So he called the car rental and argued again. And got those charges removed from my account. After 2 weeks we was finally able to go get or car and bring it home. The prices are great as well. We did look at a diff 2020 pathfinder at a different car lot. The car was a modal below the SL so it had less features and was $10,000 more on over all price. The people at that car lot was pushy trying to make us take that car. That's for a different Yelp review. As for this car lot and the people that work here. I absolutely recommend stoping I or calling their office if you looking for a replacement vehicle or just wanting to add an additional car to your household. They have a great staff that actually listen to what you want, and with the best competitive prices I found from looking online and in person. Great please. I wouldn't recommend renting a car with the enterprise rental. But enterprise car sales in Huntington is wonderful. Hope I don't bore anyone with leaving such a long in detail review.
