The walking path was recently refinished with soft rubber and is always really popular in the mornings! They also recently added calisthenics workout equipment, with pull up bars, spin bikes etc. Finally, the outdoor basketball and tennis quarts were also recently renovated! The park also features a "splash pad" in the summer that is a real community amenity! It's always popular in the hot summer with kids and families, truly a cool and unique thing. They also have a baseball field, and offer classes and other community engagement things in their gym. Lastly, I can't review without speaking about the gym. Some of the comments have not spoken kindly to the gym environment, but I'd have to disagree! It is incredibly popular, and is a great place to get find some good quality pickup games! Are there problems? Sure, the same that you run into at any other pickup game whether at LA fitness or a school gym, so don't let that scare you off! The fact that deltona had this gym really cannot be understated! It's a place for young people to have some sense of community! They also have food trucks on Fridays!!! A really great community park! Keep it up Deltona!

Such a beautiful park, but soon to be run down, dangerous place to visit. Unfortunately there is…read moreno outside supervision at this park and is becoming a dangerous place to visit. First why post rules if they are not enforced. Such as skateboards on the basketball courts and bicycles and scooters on the walking track. Next put directions besides one little sign on correct direction to walk. There has been several instances of people walking in the wrong direction on the track and refusing to yield without causing confrontation. Also post some signs in SPANISH. Maybe if they added more trashcans there would be less trash thrown on the ground. Also if something gets broke or vandalized maybe repair it soon instead of the area looking rundown. I realize some people who hold a job as a Park Director may get the attitude they don't need to go outside due to a little heat, but I suggest going outside on occasion and see what is going on and maybe provide a little security for women walking around the track alone. Especially in the evening hours. As first stated this could be a beautiful park, but whoever is in charge of hiring needs to hold these folks accountable from Park Director/Supervisor on down.

It says it has over 10,000 square feet of newly remodeled space. It has many rooms for birthday parties. It has basketball, pickleball an indoor playroom for the kids. It offers classes for adults teenagers and children. It even had a small arcade room. The area surrounding the recreation center is beautiful. Across the street is a large lake/pond with a water fountain with a walking trail. When you pull into this area it has a tree-lined road something you just don't see anymore. The facility had plenty of parking and was very clean and well maintained. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy with kids everywhere playing and enjoying the beautiful weather we had that day. I wish we had something like this in Sanford, FL. At the time my location was in Winter Park, Florida and in 2014 I relocated to Orange City, FL and have worked out at this location ever since. Orange City is closed for renovations and members told me they received an email that members would not be billed during the renovation for Orange City. I did not receive that email and assumed it was probably because my home gym was set to Winter Park. I opened a request to have my home gym location changed prior to the closing and that it was my understanding I would not be billed during the renovation closure. Kedrian, the manager at Winter Park responded saying he would put in a request to have the home location changed but that it wasn't really necessary, however, members would still be billed during the renovation and I could freeze my membership during that time for $10 a month. Well I was billed the full price for the next month and the freeze wouldn't take affect until the next billing cycle. I later confirmed that members of Orange City were in fact not being billed during the renovation period and that I however would be billed because my home gym was set to Winter Park even though I asked for that to be changed prior to the closure and also was told that it really didn't matter. I still have the voice mail and emails from Kedrian. When I inquired why I am being billed I am again told because my home gym is still Winter Park. Unbelievable. I was also told that since my membership allows me to go anywhere in Florida that I can visit the nearest gym which is a 30 mile round trip. Imagine a 30 mile round trip several times a week plus full membership and the extra time and gas expense while others at the same gym don't have this expense for the membership. I told them I would just cancel and they had the nerve to say come back after the renovation for a deal to rejoin. Why would anyone do that after being treated like this and a member for over a decade?

Keep in mind the whole time we were trying to tell them no, we don't want to buy a membership!! So then we finally got to work out and come to find out the gym has CARPET. The bathrooms are dirty and probably haven't been cleaned in MONTHS. The manager kept trying to convince us to buy a membership so long that they just drained all the energy out of us. Terrible people, won't be going back to finish our guest pass. Other places don't HARASS you to buy the membership.

When I cancelled, I spoke with Mark Vassallo, who told me I would be charged for February and could use the gym through the end of the month or roughly early March. I accepted that and considered the matter resolved. For context, the last time I actually used the gym was January 19, and when I cancelled I had no intention of using the facility again. However, after cancelling I was still charged multiple times: * $148.04 on February 3 for membership dues * Another fee on February 17 * Another $148.04 membership charge on March 3 That March 3 charge should never have happened, and I am currently disputing it. Even more troubling, when I went back to the gym to address this issue I was given a "cancellation document" that I had never seen before. On February 1 I did not sign any documents and was not given any paperwork. The document I received later contains a signature that is supposed to be mine, but it is clearly not my signature. It appears that my signature was forged on the document, and the other signature on that form belongs to Mark Vassallo, the same employee I dealt with. When I asked Mark for his business card so I could document the interaction, he refused to provide it. Because of this situation I have now filed formal complaints with: * Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (Consumer Protection) * Florida Attorney General's Office * Federal Trade Commission I have also disputed the March 3 charge with my credit card company. While researching this issue, I noticed that many other reviews mention similar billing and cancellation problems, which suggests this may be a pattern. Beyond the billing issues, the overall environment at the gym was also disappointing. Many members and trainers frequently stand around talking while blocking machines and even exits, and I've seen kids running around the weights area, which is unsafe when people are lifting. Between the billing practices, the forged cancellation document, and the poor gym etiquette, this has been one of the worst experiences I've had with a fitness club. I strongly recommend that management address these issues immediately.

The friendliness of the staff (specifically in the kid care) is hit or miss, but for the most part everyone is helpful and will acknowledge you. You can hike the trails, kayak on the St. John's River, or fish in Lake Monroe or off the pier. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a cool playground for the kids. Even dogs have their own park! Plus, there are primitive camping sites available. It felt super clean and safe, and parking was easy.

Gemini Springs Park is located in DeBary, Florida, 25 miles north of Orlando…read more Since you can no longer swim here due to high concentrations of bacteria in the waters, visitor attendance can be quite low. And since there's alternative parks situated throughout Central Florida that are swimmable, not many people will make the effort to experience Gemini Springs. In fact, I'd categorize this place as a local town park more than anything. It's free to visit and hours are sunrise to sunset. There were no names or signs for the hiking trails, so at times it felt like I was wandering aimlessly. But, the trees decorated with Spanish Moss exuded southern charm and most corners I turned felt like strolling along a nature trail. There's a dual sided passageway that acts as the centerpiece to the park and is also a dam spillway which (I believe) separates the DeBary Creek waters and the Gemini Springs area. I did spot a gator which almost caught a fish right in front of my eyes. I also noticed a soft shell turtle who appeared to be laying her eggs in the sand and some birds doing fishing of their own. Gemini Springs has picnic pavilions, a playground, a dog park, a fishing pier, plenty of grass to play around, and even camping is permitted here. Lastly, I'd like to highlight a section of the park that turns colorfully vibrant when the sun is shining... - Follow the concrete walkway (which you can't miss). - Then...you'll approach a tucked away corner of the springs. This area can be a rewarding moment for admiring the great outdoors. If you just pause and absorb the surroundings, nature's beauty shines through. It's a refreshing reminder that just because a park isn't as accessible as it once was, doesn't mean it should go unnoticed. I believe Gemini Springs Park can be a worthwhile half day visit.
