I believe I did a review on Trotwood Park, but it was some time ago. We have lived in the City of Winter Springs for 37 years, and the same home I might add. When we first moved here, this park had almost nothing to it. I think one pavilion, some swings, a small pond where you can watch the fish and turtles. However, today this park is absolutely beautiful and filled with so many amenities. The park as you will see from my pictures is loaded with beautiful, mature shade trees. A sizable splash pad for the little ones, restrooms and much more. Huge pavilions for large groups to hold family reunions, birthday celebrations, etc. If you have children, this is a wonderful park to have a family gathering, or a nice picnic lunch with a friend. Win for a Sunday farmers market experience, which is rather new really enjoyed seeing all the vendors set up supporting local. The park was busy with lots of people. The playground had a of kids running around. It seems like a great place for families. read more

Trotwood Park - Parks Near Me - Winter Springs, Florida

Traveling through Winter Springs and needing a place to step out and stretch my legs, I discovered the wonderful Trotwood Park next to Keeth Elementary School. As far as neighborhood parks go, this is one of the nicest I have had the pleasure of visiting. The centerpiece of the park is the Rocky Mountain themed, Mount Trotwood playground which opened in 2019. The playground is part of the Perk up Parks Initiative which focuses on improving City parks and play areas to strengthen the community and the overall quality of life. Mount Trotwood consists of two shaded, treehouse structures containing equipment designed for ages 2 to 5 years old and ages 5 to 12 years old. There are slides, climbing obstacles, bridges, a tic-tac-toe panel, and more. Around the playground are blue and green turf meant to mimic a river and grass and climbable boulders and mountains. The park has many other amenities that cater to families, sports enthusiasts, and nature lovers. These include a splash playground, baseball diamond, boardwalk over the lake which serves as a fishing pier, tennis court, pavilion in the same Rocky Mountain theme, pickleball courts, and picnic tables. The park is very pretty with lots of shady mature oak trees dripping in Spanish moss. Whether you're seeking active sports, family-friendly play areas, or a peaceful natural retreat, this park has something for everyone. Sadly in January of 2024 a mother was killed and her child and a teen were injured from a lightning strike in the park. Florida is known as the lightning capital of the United States. It experiences more lightning strikes per square mile than any other state with an average of 1.2 million strikes annually. I have the free WeatherBug app on my phone that tells me when it is time to seek shelter. This tragedy is a reminder to pay attention to lightning warnings when you are out and enjoying Florida's many parks. read more

We like this place. It's very wooded and shaded. Perfect for young families. Lots of tables to eat at . Tons of pickle ball courts. We saw a gator in the water a few weeks ago over by the bridge. Lots of wildlife. Walking trails are great too. read more

Been here for a friend's kiddo's birthday celebration twice now. No issues with parking even on the weekend. Kids enjoyed the playground and splash pad. Decent shade from the trees throughout. Pretty lake with turtles. Multiple pavilions for parties (needed to be reserved per my friend). I didn't really get to explore too much, but what I did see (as mentioned) were enough for me to like this park. Oh, I did drive by a tennis court in here too. read more

Trotwood Park - Parks Near Me - Winter Springs, Florida

Trotwood Park is a cool park in Winter Springs, Florida that has kind of a vibe that reminded me of a log cabin type chalet in the mountains. I do find the irony of that as Florida is probably the fattest state in the United States of America. So, I just Googled it and yes, Florida is the fattest state. The other fattest states are Illinois, North Dakota, Louisiana, Minnesota and Kansas. Honestly, I could see Louisiana, but Illinois as the second flattest? Even more surprisingly, North Dakota as the third flattest? I kind of imagine North Dakota as mountainous, but I guess not. Anyway, this is a very cool park with a great pavilion by a small lake. It has a children's play area, a fitness area, basketball courts and more. I also thought it was very cool with the bear sculptures throughout the small park. I was here on a Sunday morning and the only other people in the park was a police officer fishing with a guy and me. I wouod definitely recommend this particular park and I give it five stars overall. read more

This park is great and I love that it's so close to my home. They have pickle ball courts, tennis courts, and basketball courts available to everyone. There's a fountain you can walk around and a big field perfect for other outdoor sports. It looks like they are going to be doing some construction soon to build a new and bigger dock. There are several covered picnic tables and bathrooms near the playground. The playground is great for kids of all ages and is well shaded for those hot Florida days. I also am a big fan of the ground being the hard turf material rather than mulch so we don't go home with tons of dirt each trip. Next to the playground is a gated splash pad that is only closed a few months out of the year. It's great to have the gate enclosure so the kids can't run from splash pad to slide soaking wet. A great park but it is typically pretty crowded unless you come closer to lunch or nap times for the younger ones. read more

The playground at Trotwood Park was renovated in the past year! The new structures have quite a few slides and things to climb. They've added new benches, swings, and cleaned up a lot of the leaves that were there previously. The trees are still plentiful and there is lots of shade! The splash pad was not renovated and is open during the summer months for a few dollars per person. I enjoy it because it has a bit of shade early in the day. (Many splash pads around town are in the direct sun) Bathrooms are conveniently next to the splash pad. There's also a new pavilion that is next to the tennis courts that is very large and has lots of picnic tables. Trotwood is one of my go-to parks in Winter Springs due to the nice playgrounds, abundant shade, and lots of tables and benches to sit. read more

Trotwood Park is a large green space with a large playground, tennis courts, basketball courts and soccer and baseball fields. They also have a fishing pier, nature trail, pavilions and picnic areas. The grounds are well maintained and clean. My grandson had an amazing time playing with the local children on the play equipment and feeding the turtles swimming in the lake. This is a fun neighborhood park with lots to offer. They are open daily from 7am to 8pm. read more

Have I just found my favorite park in greater Orlando? The answer is yes! Trotwood Park in Winter Springs boasts a covered playground and splash pad that has enough tree coverage to be cool on even the hottest of days. The playground itself is large with two big structures, one for smaller kids, and one for bigger kids. The splash pad has animals that kids can climb on as well as fountains for hours at fine for even the tiniest of kids. The park ialso has a path to the lake, covered workout equipment, multiple covered picnic areas, tennis, courts, basketball, courts, and soccer fields. Im so lucky to live right across the street to this gem. The shadiest playground in all of Orlando. And the playground is well kept and super entertaining for kiddos of all ages. I love the woodsy theme. There's tons of benches for grown ups. Pavilions for parties. A splash pad! A dock with lots of ducks and birds. Plenty of swings. Baseball, basketball, soccer, and pickle ball fields. A gym! I mean this place has it all. Lots of community events held here and a little safe haven for after schoolers. We love it. read more

This park was recommended to me and it did not disappoint! It has plenty for the children and adults to enjoy. The playground is in new condition and quite large, there are two areas of swings, a splash bad (it wasn't on today), gazebos with tables, plenty of intricate seats to seat around the playground, an older kids exercise area, a tennis court, restrooms and a lake to see. The playground has squishy padding underfoot. The trees along with the canopies above the playground provide plenty of shade. The overall play ground is clean. There are parking spots on both sides of the park. We will return! read more

I have been to this park several times with my family. The most recent time I was their was for my son's Cub Scout Graduation he was graduating to a Webelo, I was so proud of my little guy. Ok so back to my review of Trotwood Park this park is pretty legit and truly lit . They have a huge playground area for all the kids to have all their adventures on, they also have a climbing area that you can climb like you were climbing Mount Everest. If you are @ the park on a hot & sunny day they have you covered with a splash pad area you do need to pay $3 to play in the splash area and it closes @ 4pm. If you were looking to get some reps in they have a fitness zone for all you exercise and training needs. They also have several pavilions for all you party need as well. You can also play some basketball @ the park because they have a outdoor basketball court. So in closing it's one of the best parks in the Winter Park area and in the Central Florida area as well I recommend it for everyone. read more

Wow what a nice park! I went here for pickle ball and found a very clean area. It had a splash pad for kids, a water area with turtles. Lots of fields for baseball and soccer and picnic area. Really a nice area. read more

Great park! I brought my child today to the splash pad and the playground. Pros: 1) The splash pad has a fence containing it which is nice so little kids don't run off. There are bathrooms nearby for changing kids in. 2) There is a big kid and little kid playground. The little kid playground has a fence around it. The big kid playground has a shaded canopy over it. There are lots of shade trees also in this park. 3) There are sports fields and a batting cage. Cons: 1) The park is dog friendly but there are no dog plastic bag waste stations. I brought my dog and there were other people there with their dogs. 2) I was waiting on a bench near the playground and there was no shade over the benches. read more

Went searching for a new park near me that I can jog around. There was a sidewalk that went from one side of the park to the other side, less that a mile back and forth. I would not recommend it to go for a run or for a bike around the park, no clear paved route. This park is perfect though for a large number of different things. Plenty of large trees with nice shade for an afternoon picnic. There are also pavilions available with tables and grills perfect to celebrate a kids birthday. Seperate playgrounds are available for small and larger kids. For older groups you can play a game if basketball, soccer, tennis or baseball. There is also a large open field where you can set up a game of kickball, fly some kites or anything else you can dream of. There was a splash pad, which was closed when I went but seems perfect for the Littles ones to enjoy when temperatures warm up. My favorite part was the free little library they offered. Perfect to grab a book and find a cozy spot under a tree to read. Or bring a book you are done with to swap out for a new one. There is something I love about still being able to have a book in my hand to read. There was a great variety of books and it was full so people are making sure they put one back as they take it. read more

Big park with a playground and splashpad. Great for kids! We usually take our son here to burn of some energy on the playground and to play in the splashpad. There are 2 separate playgrounds: one that is for the big kids and another that is a bit more suitable for toddlers and babies. Also, the splashpad is great during the summer months. I always see a sign that says they charge for residents and non-residents to use the splashpad, but no one has ever been there to collect, so I'm not sure what the current policy is. read more

This park has a lot to offer. It is located in the Tuskawilla area and most of the playground is covered by trees, which is nice. We went for the splash pad with my grandson. This splash pad is nice for young kids, and that is what we saw there. The oldest kid playing there was probably 6 years old, so my 2 year old grandson felt at home and not threatened by older kids running around and knocking him down. It is not an amazing place, but they have water that comes up from the ground, so it was good enough. The playground equipment is well kept, but small and not much to do especially for small ones. Overall Trotwood Park is a good place to visit with softball/baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, pavilions with grills, separate play areas that are age appropriate, and very clean bathroom facilities. A nice place to spend a few hours. Good job Winter Springs!! read more

Disappointed in the splash pad because it is water spouts coming up from the ground... nothing spectacular. But loved the shade coverage from all the trees. My daughter enjoys the jungle gym set. Wish the splash pad was more elaborate; I think the kids would too. Many in my daughter's party seemed to get bored quickly, then wanted to go play elsewhere. Would get hot and go back to the water just to quickly turn around and go back to the playground equipment. If the splash pad featured more items to interact with in the water we might not be moving back and forth so often. You have to pay to play. Capeheart Park in Orange County has similar set up but it's free to go in the splash pad! read more

Trotwood Park is where I want to spend my Saturday night! The scenery is heavenly. If you visit this divine park with select individuals you will find yourself in awe gazing at the beautiful landscapes. Trotwood Park is a meaningful spot to further your relationship with significant others. You will find an abundance of tranquil conversations as you journey though the patio overseeing the ravishing body of water. As you encounter wildlife, you are protected by Winter Springs Police Department (visit my page for WSPD review). I feel safe. I feel warm. I feel gratification. It is a small enlcosed area, with benches on the inside for adults to sit. However, it is just a few sprinklers coming from the ground. I was slightly disappointed because I trekked over there from another town. I can imagine if they have a school field trip or big group (which they do on Wed/Thurs) it would be terribly crowded. The ground getting to your car is full of dirt, so by the time the kids got to the car their feet were full of dirt and I had to vacuum it when I got home. I anticipate seeking out additional splash pads. But I will say, if you live in the general area it's not a bad place as a neighborhood splash pad, but not worth for a nonresident to pay $3 per child. read more
