I was driving from Florida to NY to see my mom in the hospital who was in critical condition unexpectedly. I blew a belt in my tire in SC but made it to Statesville NC to my hotel. The next day I called Walmart and they said 2 hours to get me in. I pulled up maps and saw Bill Martin. Called them and went there. I explained what I was going through and they got my car in immediately and put two new front tires on my car and had me back on the road in under an hour. The empathy and kindness showed to me gave me light during a very difficult time. My mom went on life support during my trip and I was able to get to the hospital in NY at 7 pm when visiting hours were only till 8 pm. I am so thankful to Bill Martin and his employees. We were on our way to visit family in Connecticut (we live in South Carolina). We noticed a nasty vibration and upon stopping to check our tires, we found a back tire with a major bulge in the tread area. We found Bill Martin Tire on line and close by and decided to give them a try. They fit us right in, changed the two rear tires for a competitive price, and had us back on the road within an hour! It's a family run business (we met three generations of Martins) who definitely seem to care for and treat their customers well! Thanks also to Matt who performed the professional work on our Sienna. We have had to take our truck in 5 times for various fixes and employer used Bill Martins..Every single time we have had to bring it back cause they didn't put something back or broke something that then needed replaced..this last time employer getting tires on the truck and yet again when went to pick it up whoever worked on it broke the spacers..(Spacers came on the truck when we bought it.) We were told bring it in and they will fix it..get there and the guy acts like they didn't break it and they aren't fixing it..obviously got upset cause 5th times somethings happened..guy says to go outside and proceeds to yell about raising voice in front of customer, mean while another customer is standing outside hearing him say that they "are not going to fix it cause they didn't break it" (even though when picked up they acknowledged it and said to bring it back) so pretty much calling me a liar and then says "if I wasn't so stupid I'd know that those spacers are pieces of shit" Again Spacers came with truck and because of that had no clue how they are..Needless to say we and my employer won't be doing business there again.. read more

I considered purchasing a used car and immediately drove it from Charlotte to Statesville so I could get an honest pre-purchase assessment of the car from BMT. I am from out of the area in fact I live and own a tire service center in California.I always try to give the best customer service possible and treat people the way I would like to be treated.That is what I experienced at Bill Martin's I was recommend by friends in Statesville. Moved to the area several years ago and needed a place to purcahse and rotate tires. Folks in the neighborhood referred me to Bill Martin. Tire selection and quality of work is good. However, the customer service is terrible. Unless you are a life long local you go to the back of the line and stay there until they are done with the locals who just drive in and get service. Took my truck to Martin to get the tires rotated (yes I purchased them from Bill Martin) and left it. 5 hours later when I returned to pick it up it was still setting where I left it and they had done nothing. Ended up letting the dealer rotate the tires when I had the oil changed. Today I had to put two new tires on my wife's car. I ask them to call me when the work was complete and they said no problem. Guess what? 7 hours later and no phone call. Seems like if someone owed you money for a service you would want them to come in pay. If you are not a local they treat you like crap. Quality of work is good. Customer service is absent at Bill Martin. My advice go to a national chain if you want to be treated like they value your business because Bill Martin only treats you like $$$ signs. read more

I live in Salisbury and still go to Statesville to do business with them because they are honest and try to always make sure the work is done right whether it is with tires or automotive repair.
