I love Billerica Chiropractic. I've been seeing Dr. Chapnick since I was a teenager. He helped me through my pregnancies, golf injuries and all sorts of back injuries. Billerica chiropractic Has done such an amazing job on my back. The pain is so much better!! They took the time to go over what needs to be corrected and accomplished it quickly. I had an issue with " vasovagal syncope " events, my cardiologist was telling me id need a pacemaker by 25 to keep myself from having random episodes where i would suddenly pass out. Dr. Kawut went out of her way to learn techniques to alleviate my symptoms and after a few short visits my episodes began to decrease and since that was adjusted and corrected as well. Wish I read these recent reviews from September & October before going to 2 appointments without receiving any adjustments... Oddly enough this was the first chiropractic office I ever went to, maybe 8-9 years ago. I have seen many chiropractors as I've moved around MA. Since I'm back in the area, I figured I'd try them again. Reception and the doctors don't explain their process up front. I expected to be adjusted at both appointments, but turns out they were both consultations/evaluations. I was floored at my second appointment. The doctor scribbled down 3 phases of treatment in chicken scratch on a paper, and then 3 insane payment options. I asked for paperwork of the diagnosis with treatment plan and pricing options to take home with me to review. He told me I could take a photo of said chicken scratch. Such a scam. I can't believe I wasted 2+ weeks and 2 appointments to not receive an adjustment and still be in pain. I will not be returning. Guess I'll wait and see if they decide to text me too.... read more

Similar to what many others have said, this place is a scam and just looking for money. I went for a consult, had X-rays taken. Went back the next week, was given a 3 phase "treatment plan" (written in complete chicken scratch that I cannot even read it - photo attached) that would cost almost 3k. They were just expecting me to pay that right away. I had no breakdown of the cost. I have great health insurance that "didn't cover all my needs" which is BS. I asked if there was anything else they could do for less many and was told no. I called another office later the same day and was told my insurance does cover 12 visits a year and then a small co pay after. Do NOT Go here. Absolute scam. read more

I have been in pain in my neck area and lower back for years. Finally, I went to see Billerica Chiropractic for a consultation. I knew that this may help a little, but after about 2 weeks, I had no pain in either area. The staff is very welcoming and the appointments area all at times that are convenient for me. Dr. Chapnick and Dr. Honi are both amazing. I would recommend anybody with any type of back pain to visit with them as soon as possible so that they can help relieve the pain so that you can live your life! read more

Update: The office has sent me a bill for an additional $150 (on top of the $50 I'd already unwittingly paid for x-rays). I am reporting them to them to the Bureau of Health Professions Licensure. So I'm kind of confused by most of the negative reviews. They all have to do with this being a "scam" and "they're just trying to get your money". This means you didn't actually go and invest in the time and money needed to do this. I've been going for almost 3 months now, and yes I had to pay a fair amount of money, but it has absolutely been worth it. I'm able to do much more physical activity for longer and not be "out of commission" for the day. This is part of life and sometimes you have to pay to invest in your body. My wife will probably do her treatment plan starting in the new year. Not having back pain has been worth every penny. read more

I have been going to Billerica Chiropractic since 2002. I have always been pleased with their care. Dr. Chapnik and Dr. Kawut have provided excellent adjustments in a judgement-free zone. I can not say the same of other chiropractors in my area. Unlike other chiropractors, they use x-rays to ensure safety. Would you have a root canal at a dentist without x-rays? They have a clear, careful, and professional plan, ready to review, before they make any adjustments. They explain what needs to be done by them to help a person feel better and healthier. It may seem like a sales pitch (according to other reviews), but it is actually a forthright financial review of the costs of care. Those costs can be expensive, especially if insurance doesn't cover them. (I just had a dental implant done recently. OMG!) Unlike some chiropractic offices, Billerica Chiropractic is able and willing to work with my insurance company (BC/BS of MA) for billing. I have the attention span of a gnat so that really helps me. My husband and my two sons also see Dr. Chapnik and Dr. Kawut. My 16 year old son is autistic. They have been so patient and compassionate with him over the years. He has come so far with getting adjustments and I know he is safe and in good hands. To be clear, I am not a fake reviewer. I'm just a very happy customer. read more

Scammed and injured! So much for a free consult! Due to the fact that I have two rods in my back, I went for the "free consult" not knowing if I was was even able to be worked on. I was upfront with the doctor and told her same. After my x-rays she had me lay down, examined me and used an instrument on me, I believe called an activator, that looks similar to a pen with handles. While using the activator on me, it felt fine and my neck actually felt better. Next we moved to the desk to discuss what a mess my back is and how out of all the doctors and surgeons I have seen, she could fix me. Note that not only do I have rods in my back, I have quite an extreme diagnosis. After discussing my miracle cure and the thousands of dollars it would cost (if it were a true miracle, I would pay anything), I was brought up to the desk to schedule more appointments and hand over my credit card to be charged 3k....for 3 months worth of treatment (roughly). Ya, not going to happen. Due to the pain I am always in, I have fallen for many "cures". The $3500.00 chair next to my couch is a constant reminder. I wanted to see how I felt the next day prior to committing to anything... so I blamed my husband saying I had to talk to him first. Before leaving I was told the doctor would follow up with me later that night. When she called, I urgently answered explaining the extreme amount of pain I was in. After leaving her office, within just a few short hours, my level of pain was at a 10. That was the most pain I was in since my last surgery. I was not able to sit, stand or walk. I explained all this and that I was waiting for a callback from my neurologist. I thought I was slowly being paralyzed. The chiropractor told me she would follow up after the weekend, wished me well and that was that. A few days later I got a text from her asking how I was. I explained that I was still in pain but not as severe. Her advice was still to come back for more.... but not to worry because she could lower the pressure on the activator. Seriously! I did not hear from her again until I got a bill then another bill. How is that even ethical! Offer a free consult, injure patient then charge them for it. I understand how business works, I am a business owner. If it was me, I would've sent a get well card and zeroed out the invoice. I began my letter to the licensing board over this. I'm honestly shocked at all the positive reviews. I thought this place was a scam like some of the other reviewers said. Not sure if she targets certain people? Be prepared to commit to paying $3000+ and go 3x a week for 3 months. I went to 2 appointments that were a sales pitch and received no treatment. It was a complete waste of time. The pressure Honi puts on you is insane..left crying. 9pm I get a TEXT from Honi saying sorry things didn't work out. It was super strange as I never said she could text me and I've never experienced anything like that with any doctor or my previous chiropractor. It didn't seem right and I'm glad I got out of there. I'll be going back to Marini Chiropractic Office - it's a little further of a drive but at least he never pushed me into treatment and never made me cry! read more

I have had back and neck pain for years. Recently I was suffering with sciatica, and a pinched nerve in my neck. I made an appointment with Dr. Kawut and had my consultation and the following week she had a plan all set for me. Its been a month of sessions and I feel so much better. First time visit and this is going back to last year as I have not had time to write this review. I met with Dr. Chapnick and he was personable and professional. The physical exam went okay and I had my hesitancy on getting treated after suffering a disc issue in my neck and in sever pain. But, I was hopeful at anything to help. I never got passed the first visit as first off was nervous of more pain but I was very confused on why the doctor had to take a bunch load of xrays of my neck after I provided him with my MRI on a disc. He had all he needed. His xray machine was ARCHAIC. It was something out of an old scary movie. It made noise long, loud an slow as it zapped you! I was very skeptical but being I pain I didn't refuse as I was unfamiliar with chiropractors. I most definitely feel he took advantage of a first time patient. And to subject anyone to that archaic xray is irresponsible. Don't tell me it is not harmful. With the technology today on xray machines, he needs to go spend some money and update his office. So do I think I was take advantage of, yes. Did I go back, no? I felt uncomfortable that he took those xrays like it was to wrack up the insurance payment. It took a long while too. He did follow up with a call or email, to try and get me back in, but honestly after that, I declined. I didn't feel trust at that point and why return? I can go elsewhere. So, would I recommend them? No! But, I guess if you don't mind getting extra radiation then Sure! I don't know much else to offer as I never got passed that. read more

I absolutely loved this chiropractor office! I did something to my neck and it was completely out of whack--I was constantly cracking it on my own due to the discomfort. I am a 56 yr old Contractor and have always worked in the field, picking things up putting things down. Twisting and pulling. And everything is always heavy. Had a few car/motorcycle accidents. Been in the military for 23 years. So with that. I have alot of back and neck issues. I tried many different pain relievers over the years, to include Pain meds, Chiropractor, Acupuncture, Steroids shots and Prolozone Injections. They all work to a degree like anything else. Not all will work for you. Chiropractor an Acupuncture has been working well for me and I will continue to go. About this office. When you walk in you are greeted by Cheyne, smiling and cheerful person and she knows your name and what you and her talked about the last time you were in there. She keeps the front desk operating efficiently and organized. Dr Honi and Dr Chapnick are friendly courteous and kind. They are very knowledgeable about your treatment and your physical abilities. They come up with a treatment plan and obviously it includes visits to the office, but also stretching and core strenghtening. They look at your overall well being. What can we do to get you back on your feet and functioning at a level you can work and concentrate on your life your job your relationship. They are there for you, to help. They are a great team. I feel they do me right by the treatments they provide. A payment plan that works for me. I would recommend this Chiropractic office to my family and friends. My pain will never go away but I can manage it with the help of these treatment plans and advise from my Dr's, if I choose to follow thru. I see some negative reviews about this office, mostly claiming its a scam and it cost a lot of $$. Like your car, you changed the oil every 3000 miles to keep your car running smoothly. Sometimes you have to go and have adjustments to keep your spine in line. Things cost money. You can't expect it to be free or covered under your insurance. My insurance does not cover it. I pay out of pocket for this. To the negative people, Sorry if you always get things for free or always hear happy news but you went to get some treatment/relief because you were hurting. I will absolutely never come back here ever again, major waste of my time. My first visit was an evaluation and exam with a sales pitch, second appointment was supposed to be a 30 minute adjustment which turned into another sales pitch lasting 30 minutes with outrageous financial expectations and a 2 minute sham adjustment that I better not be billed for. This place is a TOTAL SCAM! I'm surprised they have any positive reviews at all. Probably all people that don't know any better and don't have a lengthy history with chiropractic care to compare to the way I do. However, I do see several other 1 star reviews here with an almost identical negative experience as I had which is unbelievable. Honi trying to prepare me to pay upfront close to almost $3,000 in out of pocket expenses when I have Tufts which is a good insurance, wants me to pay my co-pays up front and wants me to come 3x week. Then even had 2 other dollar figures written down just incase I turned down the high one. I felt like I was buying a car from a car salesman. I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and she's trying to tell me that my insurance isn't going to cover the "special techniques" she needs to do because I am "pregnant". Her sales pitch skills and techniques are extremely strong for someone who specializes in chiropractic care. Lots of reverse psychology. Well my insurance covers prenatal care needs and also gives me 12 chiro visits per year so there's absolutely no reason why I should be asked to pre-pay thousands of dollars up front. Totally felt like my pregnancy was used as an opportunity to attempt to take advantage of me. I'm not an idiot. I have a wonderful chiropractor that's absolutely amazing that I been going to for almost 10 years out in the city. Other people I know that go to other chiropractors also were never asked or expected to pay thousands up front and weren't charged anything other than their co-pays by their chiros. Other chiros I went to in the past also don't run their practices this way. I called around other local offices today to ask if they charge outside of insurance for prenatal chiropractor care and the answer was no. So I don't know what this place is up to but they are extremely shady trying to milk thousands out of people on top of billing the insurance. Only reason why I tried going to this place was because my OBGYN office recommended here and 2. It was literally a two minute drive from my house. Soon as I got home I called my old chiro office and made an appointment, it will be well worth the drive and they do not charge for anything other than a copay regardless of the type of adjustment I need and regardless of me being pregnant. She wouldn't give me a copy of all her notes and reasons for needing to charge so much money either even though I asked more than once so I could look over it at home. Honi tried to pressure me so bad into paying money I was literally brought to tears because I was absolutely disgusted that this woman was trying to pull a quick one on a disabled pregnant girl. I walked out of there with a headache, can't remember the last time I had a headache. I have been getting chiropractic care elsewhere both before and after an MVA with much more advanced technology and equipment than what this place appeared to have and I never once received a bill. Woman is a total con-artist and should be ashamed of herself trying to get thousands out of people upfront when they have insurance. I will not be returning here, I am a good person who unfortunately has a history of disability and injury, I'm carrying my first child, and I absolutely do not appreciate all those factors being preyed upon as opportunity to attempt to scam me out of money. I'd been seeing Dr. Chapnick for years, and he is good, but the practice is greedy. I hadn't been there in two years, since they refused to accept my new insurance. I had been receiving a $10 cash discount, then they eliminated the discount. I went to a different chiropractor. When I tried to come back, they wanted to treat me like a new patient, so I'd have to get a another exam and x-rays. I'm on Medicare, and it doesn't pay for exams, so I was told that I'd have to pay $400 for an exam, which is ridiculous. My primary care doctor does physicals for $150. I called two other chiropractors in the local area, and the exam fee is $75 to $100. If you're on Medicare, do yourself a favor and find a cheaper alternative. read more

This place is a scam and I bet these good reviews are fake. Be ready! First appointment they are gonna be nice you and tell you are going to be cured. They are not going to treat you at the day. They need time to check the x-Ray that you also pay for the first visit. Second appointment they will try to push you a 3000.00 "CO-PAY" treatment. They are gonna try to drain money from you and your health insurance. They will try to give you a contract to sign. I asked the woman I was interested to pay my co-pay for every visit and she said they don't work that way. I never returned. Now I am asking my x-ray copy and they don't want to send it to me. I have had neck and upper back discomfort for quite awhile and I thought it was just from going to the gym and it was normal. I was not an easy case for them , with multiple subluxations in my back and neck along with fibromyalgia and severe chronic migraines , I'm sure I tested their abilities . The most amazing chiropractic care! I have always had scoliosis and had back pain on and off that I tried unsuccessfully to treat with pain medication prescribed by doctors. While visiting family over the holidays, I was in excruciating pain and could barely move. The staff at this office welcomed me, showed compassion for my situation, and took amazing care of my back. I have been a patient of Dr. Sandy Chapnick and Dr. Honi Kawut, since late 2011. I was in a MVA first of the year and had been through numerous amounts of PT's to help manage my pain, nothing worked. I was fortunate enough to be referred to Billerica Chiropractic by a PT's that sent me in the right direction. The pain I was in was so bad I couldn't bare the 1 hour commute to work and back, I stopped the MMA classes my daughter and I were taking and it would even hurt if my son were to give me a hug, I couldn't push a shopping cart at the grocery store because it would cause pressure in my neck by using my arms, I couldn't even wear a necklace because the lightest touch would create unbearable pain. If someone touched my back, neck or head I would just about cry. I had headaches nights without sleep, I can go on and on how much the pain was affecting my life! I didn't think I would ever be the same again. Until I was referred to Billerica Chiropractic. The doctor's office made me feel right at home, so friendly and explained everything to me. After just a few adjustments I was starting to feel better. I was sleeping, the headaches and numbness was going away in my arms and neck, I was working better and finding myself to have my energy back because this pain and discomfort I was in for so long was going away! I suffer lower back pain and "tennis" elbow for a long time. Seen several chiro with no help. Decided to give a chance with local chiro (Billerica). I google and found this "lovely" place-Billerica Chiropractic. I called office and scheduled appointment with Sandy. When I arrived I was told I would meet with Honi Kawut. On my question why Honi the answer was: "Sorry we misunderstood you". Honi is a petite woman and I told her I wanted to see Sandy (male doctor) but she assured me "She can move a mountain". Very well. First apt was just an evaluation, no treatment. I asked about MRI but she refused it. Also I asked if I can do some exercises and the answer was not yet. Second apt was X-Ray. Honi told me my spine is bad and it would take a very long time to "fix" it. Also she asked how old my mattress was. I decided to "fish" and answered "as old as I am" :). Honi took my bite and claimed I need a new mattress. Then I started treatment twice a week. Every visit she asked if I felt any better and I answered - NO. After about 7 or 8 visit I felt no difference and decided to stop treatment. Then she "gave up" on me and advised to see her husband Sandy. So much for "I can move a mountain". I said no. A week after I scheduled apt with my family doc and called office to get X-Ray and report. I was shocked after I read report. Instead of one page with symptoms and treatment I got 10 pages with story of my life. What most upset me was her lie about I refused MRI and do exercises. To make long story short meeting with Honi Kawut was worse experience ever. I do not blame her for falling to provide proper treatment but for lying ... . Also her office is outdated. Their expertise as chiropractors is unsurpassed, as is their compassion for their patients. Their professionalism, along with the professionalism and competence of the entire staff, makes Billerica Chiropractic a welcoming, comforting place when one is in need of help. Whenever I have needed them for an issue with my back (which was seriously injured in a car accident years ago) Drs. Chapnick and Kawut have been there for me. If you want a doctor that sticks to their word, do not go here. I've been 3 times in the past 2 weeks to get orthotics and every time I showed up on time they tell me I'm misunderstood, they don't have the equipment and that I am wrong and don't have an appointment. Excuse after excuse. Why would I show up if the receptionist and doctor told me i did not have an appointment? I wouldn't. They basically made me feel like an idiot and were persistent that I was wrong. (I wasn't) Extremely dissatisfied with their service. Also when I was at college in another town I asked the male doctor for a referral to a chiropractic office close to my college. He told me he'd email me in a couple days, and he never stuck to his word. I asked twice. When I saw the female doctor I again asked for a referral to another chiropractic office, immediately she wrote down a name and address for me. This chiropractic office needs to get their shit together. I most definitely do not recommend going here. I should not have missed 3 days of work due to my doctors failure to do his job correctly. read more

I started seeing Dr Chapnick and Dr Kawut about a year ago because of severe neck pain. The pain was triggered all of sudden and I had to make an emergency appointment. The front desk staff was understanding and made sure to explain all the paperwork required. Dr Chapnick did my intial exam and adjustment, needless to say I felt better after a couple of visits. Then he worked with me on the root cause of issue which was stress and wrong posture! Things have since improved drastically and I only go there for my scheduled visit once every 4-6 weeks. My husband suffered from lower back pain for years and decided to go in for an adjustment (on my insistence). Same experience for him as well, they found out the root cause referred him to the best podiatrist and now he is all better. I would honestly recommend this practice and if you are having second thoughts don't just go in for an adjustment :-) read more
