The employees have always been friendly, accommodating, and quick to offer help, which is why today's visit stood out so much. When I came in, I was the second person in line. There was one customer at the register who needed some extra assistance, which I completely understand. What I didn't understand was why several employees were gathered around helping that one customer while the line was waiting. I politely asked one of the employees if someone could help those of us in line. The manager, Alicia, responded that she was th manager and she was helping the current customer and that she would help us when she was done. However, there appeared to be multiple employees at the front registers at the time. What bothered me most wasn't having to wait. It was the tone and demeanor of the response. She came across as very stern and unfriendly, and also seemed visibly irritated while assisting the customer in front of us. It was such a contrast from the warm, helpful service I've consistently received here over the years. I do want to note that the cashier, Hope (I believe that was her name), was very kind and even apologized to me, which I truly appreciated. She was not the issue at all. I'm hoping this was simply an off day because I've genuinely appreciated this store and its staff for a long time. I just felt this experience was worth mentioning because it was so different from what I've come to expect from this location.

I was told an employee of true value that they do not except return of unused items with a receipt…read morein hand. Store policy states that they will return the item within 30 days if it has been unused and you have a receipt . I do not recommend purchasing anything from the store being to the fact that they break store policy and don't allow their customers to return items . I'm going to the store personally to talk to the manager and report them to corporate office keep updated for the next comment .

It's almost like the old fries electronic building. They have what you want, but don't expect customer service. It's blatantly obvious that the employees here hate their job from their customer service towards customers. You could immediately see from their facial expression the loathing feeling they have towards Customer when you come into the building. The only reason I gave this one star is because they do have what I'm looking for. However, that will change soon enough. I will be taking my business someplace else, possibly a local Ace Hardware store. I may have to pay extra price, but at least I won't be hated just for buying things at their store. LONG POST! Let me…read morestart this out with we have spent a lot of money throughout our home renovation at the Turlock Lowe's. We went there early this morning to rent a insulation blower. It was probably the worst experience I have ever had there. No one knew what they were doing and had my husband and I running around getting barcodes looking up item numbers. We were at the pro desk thinking they were pros. We asked them for the machine that we needed for the insulation and they said they don't know if it works. So we waited about an hour for them to finally get the blower out from wherever it was. When they brought it to us, they told us they don't know if it works or not. I asked them if they can plug it in and they did not. They said we would have to pay for everything. Take it home. Try it and if it doesn't work, bring it back. So we paid. Then we asked for assistance loading our truck with 20 insulation bags and the insulation blower which is extremely heavy. They said they would go in to get someone. And they never came back out. We waited for a long time and eventually had someone else meet us there to help us lift it into the truck. Once we're home, the machine shut off every five minutes and we would have to wait between each bag to let the machine cool down before it would work again. THE WORST PART, is that my husband went to take it back just now and once again was sent to multiple desks, telling him they don't know how to return it. I don't understand. That is literally their job. Then he asked for someone to help him unload it. For some reason they could not find anybody???? once again how does that make sense. My husband proceeded to try and pull it out of the truck by himself. Hurt his back and still no one was out there to help him. I have never been so disappointed with Turlock Lowe's before. We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on. DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU NEED TO RENT ANY MACHINE. They do not know what they are doing.

When you're looking for an affordable starter set for an adult child moving out on their own, or a tool you need urgently but won't put through a lot of stress, or replacements for some category of item that you use to death quickly, HF is fan-effing-tastic. (Their tool quality has also generally improved; obvs, read tool reviews, but they are worth a look.) We went to the soft opening with nothing in mind other than celebrating that there's finally a store near us (we'd been spending a lot of time and cash at the one in Ceres), and walked out with our arms loaded with goodies that we just happened to remember we needed. This location is next to Big Lots and kind of across the street from Strand Ace Hardware, so between the three, you can probably knock off an entire home renovation project on a budget.
