    Ricotta Pancakes

Stumbled across Bill's on several blogs and websites stating it's a must go-to breakfast spot. I'd say it's very average in comparison. However, there aren't a lot of breakfast places to choose so I guess I see how this stands out. We came mid morning on a week day and were able to get seated promptly although super busy inside and out. The place has a retro diner feel with a modern twist. Staff was attentive and helpful with the menu choices. I did really enjoy the famous ricotta pancakes. Not overpoweringly sweet but still rich and filling. I added a berry jam side to add to the dish as recommended - delicious! My partner had the basic breakfast of toast, avo, eggs. And it was just that, very basic. Overall, a good spot to pop into but nothing to overhype and get everyone there to try. Just good for a simple meal when hungry. Plenty of locations too.

Stumbled upon Bills when we were planning our trip to Sydney and was excited to try this super popular restaurant brunch. A 10-15 min walk from Central station in Sydney. We arrived around 12:30pm on a weekday and it was busy and full. The wait for a table wasn't terribly long (we waited around 10 min or so). Food wise, my husband and I both ordered the full aussie (scrambled eggs, cumin roast tomato, herbed garlic mushrooms, pork, chili and fennel sausage, bacon, and iggy's sourdough toast). Everything tasted great! We were super full after our meal from all that food. I saw other customers ordering pancakes which looked delicious as well. The servers were friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a great meal here!

A very small place for the number of seatings... but their service and foods are excellent. I would love to go back there again when we are back in Sydney!

The sister and I met a friend here. It was recommended as a highly popular spot. We were able to get a table immediately even though it looked fully booked. WAGYU BURGER- grilled swiss, pickled green chili, herb mayo, rocket, and fries This was the best burger I had while in sydney. The patty was so tender and juicy. I especially like the pickled chili with the meatiness of the beef. The fries were also cooked perfectly. It was thin and crispy. RICOTTA HOTCAKES- banana and honeycomb butter This was my first time having hotcakes in sydney and it did not disappoint. It was so fluffy and airy. I've never had anything like it. I'm not even a fan of cheese, but it worked so well with the hotcakes because it was balanced well with the fresh bananas and sweet honey butter. I would come back for this. HOMEMADE ALMOND MILK SPICED CHAI I wasn't a huge fan of this chai because the almond milk changed the flavors of the herbal and spice of the drink. It wasn't as aromatic as I expected it would be and the spice was too subtle. I would come here again next time I'm in town.

I love the friendly customer service and banter the staff here provide. Foods great, portion size is great & the mango passion fruit pavlova is a MUST. The steak frites are my go to with cafe de Paris butter, fries and garden salad.

I have always wanted to try the food at Bills ever since my friend made fish tacos using his cook book. She highly recommended his cook books for easy to follow recipes and which turned out successful dishes. So off I went and bought several of his cook books when Borders was still around. So it was something on my bucket list that I MUST try the breakfast at Bills. To Sydneysiders, Bills may be an overpriced place or there are also other places with similar food quality as Bills but at a much lower price. But to visitors from places where such good quality fares is rare, then Bills is definitely a must visit place. We went on a weekday morning and we were lucky to get a table as the place was packed around 10 am. The place was bright and welcoming and you could see it was like a neighborhood breakfast place. Service was cheery though a bit on the slow side as there were only a few servers on duty for a full room. We ordered the ricotta hotcakes and corn fritters to share. I would say the corn fritters trumped the ricotta hotcakes. The fritters were crispy and full of the natural sweetness of corn, plus it was not so oily it would leave your with a greasy aftertaste. The ricotta hotcakes were light but I could not really taste the honeycomb butter. They were good but not sublime. It was a pricey breakfast as for 2 dishes and 2 cups of coffee, it came close to A$50.

I came here for famous pancake. Pancake, to be honest not so impressive. Rather say disappointed. I can have much better one in Japan or somewhere else. Other menu was good. Veggie fritters was good. I love it !

Was pretty crowded on a Monday during lunch hour. Decided to try this place out after several Yelpers recommendations. Tried out the ricotta pancakes and sunrise smoothie. For the pancakes, it was fluffy and when combined with their honeycomb and butter it was pretty flavorful. The portion was pretty good and with sliced bananas, you will be filled fast. Something different from the pancakes you have tasted. The sunrise smoothie wasn't that great. More towards sour than sweet. Servers were friendly and fast. Was able to dine in in less than 1 hour. Space was pretty narrow. I liked the open concept kitchen and the modern interior design. Price wise was on the expensive end. Overall, it was a good experience :)

    The BEST corn fritters!

Sis and I enjoyed our corn fritters and coffee Breakie here. We barely had a wait before being seated. The service was cheerful and good. Definitely made up for the horrific experience just a couple of days prior at FouratFive. I will definitely return!

The food is amazing which I guess justifies the price and the wait, but I guess that depends on how patient you are. I went here and had the corn fritters with avo salsa (an extra charge) and also added a side of miso mushrooms. It was very filling and I actually took half home. The mushrooms were a bit cold and nothing special (I'd hoped they be like mushrooms at Haven Tailoring Coffee Joyously which are great) but now I know. My friend had the Ricotta hot cakes which were amazing. We both had fresh squeezed OJ which was nice and she had a latte....then our bill was $75 for two at brunch. A bit much but tasty and we enjoyed sitting at the outdoor table. We waited about 30 minutes but it wasn't terrible. Of note, despite some all day breakfast items, breakfast ends at noon and since we had to wait 30 minutes, it was done by the time we we sat down. The best items seem to be all day though so not a huge concern. No take away.

I must have lucked out because I got an outdoor table without any wait time on a Saturday! I tried the corn fritters and loved it so much I even googled the recipe on the spot! Will try to make it at home one of these days :) I had to dock one star because my coffee came after my breakfast even though I ordered the coffee the second I sat down. Not to mention I had to ask for silverware and it was crudely given to me by one of the wait staff (not even my server). I understand she is busy but busy is no excuse to poor customer service.

Why have I not reviewed Bill's before? Nice rich macchiato. Lovely deep smooth flavour with no bitterness. Great, thick fluffy hot cakes complete with honeycomb butter, maple syrup and a generous serve of fresh banana. These wonderful pancakes are riddled with little surprise chunks of ricotta making these airy creations even more luscious. Don't miss these fluffy masterpieces.

Went back to Bill's after 10 years and the food is a little bit better than what I had before. This time I ordered the chopped salad with extra avocado and it was nice and refreshing however just not a good bang for buck. Bill's never been cheap but $29 for a bowl of salad is just an overkill We also had the corn fritters and that was really good. The ricotta pancakes was also excellent, fluffy, soft and moist. I had mine with no maple syrup but apparently it's yummy with the syrup too and and that amazing chocolate butter just melts in your mouth. Homemade chai latte was quite nice, not too sweet, cappuccino was strong but one of the best we've had. Overall Nice food just a little expensive for what you get however I think I would come back again for the ricotta pancakes and the corn fritters.

A great twist on Korean Lettuce wraps. Spicy Sticky Pork Belly!! Finger lickin good!!!

I've been meaning to write up a review for weeks, but struggled to choose what to write about. The menu is seasonal and changes weekly, some samples include finely cut wagyu, crusted in dukkah and served on sourdough, honey-glazed bacon with fresh avocado, and mushrooms with ricotta. Almost everything comes served with sprinklings of sprouts and greens grown on the windowsill. The menu is small but there's almost always something for everyone; however, those looking for your classic big breakfast should come prepared to settle for something a little different. The quality of coffee is not entirely consistent, but the molasses-infused sugar makes up for it. I could eat a jar of it by itself. There's also a range of sandwiches on offer. A friend recently brought home lamb-shoulder on sourdough that had me drooling. I need to be strong, three visits in one day is just too much.
