Just paid a visit to both of bobs furniture stores and I am very happy we chose to pay them a visit. My husband and I just moved to San Antonio from Orange County CA and needed to furnish our new studio. Angel was very patient and helpful when it came to making a well informed purchase. I can't remember the gentleman's name that helped us at Bobs other store but he was also very helpful and patient. Both men took their time to help secure the best prices for our furniture to keep us with in budget. I'll add photos of our new furniture once we're completely moved in. Went around town checking out all the mattress sales posted on the windows what a joke !!! I found bbb online and went on sat morning to see what the deals were. I have to say I was greeted by the intire staff and was able to find a screaming deal that beat all the others in town. My bed is amazing and I love it ... They didn't try to bs me or sale me a crappy bed I told them what I could afford and they showed me what they had for my budget. I generally don't find it helpful or effective to send an email to address a problem when I have experience really bad customer service, however, today I feel compelled to at the very least address a complaint. My husband and I purchased our mattress from you on January 10, 2015. We purchased an I-Comfort Insight Kingsize mattress and had it delivered. After a few weeks we called and wanted to upgrade to the Prodigy of the same line mattress, understandably we were told that we have to wait 30 days to exchange the mattress. We begain calling to have on the February 15 to workout the exchange and was told that someone would be contacting us. After receiving no phone call we reached out a second time on the 17th in efforts to make the arrangements, we were again told we would be called. On the 21st we found that someone could help us after calling once again. This gentleman informed me that we needed to have our receipt to discuss the arrangements and I didn't have that with me at the time I said that I would call back. Today (Tuesday, February 24, 2015) I called and spoke to Christian, and was truly taken back with how this interaction transpired. I first explained that I needed to make arrangements to exchange a mattress and he quickly spoke over me stating that your company doesn't take mattresses back and I should have read my receipt. I told him then that I did read my receipt and the tempurpedic mattress we purchased had a 100 days to exchange for upgrades. As I was attempting to explain this, Christian again said that you didn't sale tempurpedic mattresses and I need to look at my receipt. I looked and the "brand" of tempurpedic mattress was I-Comfort. I stated it was an I-Comfort and the person on the phone screamed over me that I needed to "get it together" and call some other day and managers don't work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As I attempted to ask to speak to another person, Christian, kept screaming the phone number and Tuesday and Thursday, quite childishly. Frustrated I just hung up. When I explained what occurred, my husband tried to contact your company to make some sense of the situation. Christian proceeded to tell him that he knows he was just calling to defend his wife and he would get the same thing "Tuesday, Thursday" over and over. When my husband asked for the supervisor on duty, Christian stated that he signs their paycheck and would not retrieve anyone for him. I'm not sure what is acceptable business practices for your employees, but I felt that hopefully this is not it. We are so very amazed that you would want someone working for your company that would act so immaturely. I really hope the person who is running your business is not in fact this Christian person. I hope other people don't attempt to call, hoping to spend more money with your company, only to leave with a bad taste from one person. As a business one would think that your product is good however your customer service is an issue. After this experience rating Billy Bob's beds would be a disservice to everyoneso unfortunately I have to rate it one since there's no way I can rate a 0. read more

She was very polite and professional and greeted me with a smile from ear to ear :) She was also very knowledgeable about the products that they carried. I went there not too long ago and was looking/trying out some mattresses when I discovered I was missing my phone I thought I had put it in my bag but my bag was open...I believe that while I was laying on a mattress someone really sneaky took it out of my bag and the only people around at the time were associates. We took my 3 year old niece to buy her first bed. After reprimanding us that children cannot lay on their beds, the salesman got in our face and made the 3 yr. old cry. The salesman began to taunt the child to cry.. which made her cry more. when I complained to the owner, he made a false call to 911 saying that I was "drunk" and "threatening him with a weapon." When I commented to the on duty sheriff at the store.. his response was "that's why he has to pay the cops to be around.. explains the broken glass on the floor." The WORST and RUDEST customer service I have ever encountered! I called to ask about a product at this store. The "salesperson" told me they didn't have the product and then hung up on me when I was asking a second question. I bought sheets with my new bed less than a month ago and they have a hole in them already and I was told " oh well not our fault never had that happen, we can't help you since you did it". I happen to be looking for a mattress today. A friend of mine told me she went to buy a economical mattress for her horse trailer this weekend and had pretty good service, so I was actually on my way to your place, when she posted on FB. She noticed they doubled billed her so she called them to have it corrected. From the beginning they suggested her bank charged it. She took proper measures and confirmed with her bank with print outs that it was indeed Billy Bobs who double billed her. Now I know she's not in dire need of the money, but I have known her for over 20 years and I do know she appreciates common courtesy and good customer service. I saw some videos of you guys and how you spoke to her and her husband and you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Stay far far far away from Billy Bob Beds Their beds are a piece of crap, waste of money. First when you sleep on the bed it's soft and then the 5th night it starts making noise when you get up it feels like you are sleeping on metal fence the springs pop out while sleeping then next the spring burns your skin while sleeping. Who ever make this beds their factory should be locked down for good. The Box Spring is made out of cardboard and thin wood frames. Do not do a split payment!!! Bought a new mattress from here my husband payed $400 in cash and put the remaining amount of $300 on my debit card. Later on I noticed there was $700 subtracted from my account, but when I realized they had already closed for the night. I called the next morning and I was told that I needed to speak to the cashier and he would be working the following day. I called the next day and was then told that the cashier was off that day also! This seemed very suspicious to me so I called again later and asked for the cashier personally and they told me he was on vacation and wouldn't be back until the following week! I called back the next morning I was fed up I told them I wanted my money back and that this was not my mistake they apologized and told me to call and talk to Billy bob the next morning so I did. Somehow the next morning it went to Billybobs cell phone, I explained to him the situation and that I was upset that I was told one thing and then something else the next day... he apologized and said that he will fix it! He took my phone number and said he would call me back in about 15 minutes when he go to the store. 5 hours went by and I got no phone call so I called the store. He answered and I recognized his voice so I told him who was calling and explained the situation again. He then told me he couldn't find the receipt and I would need to wait until that cashier came back from vacation. What are you kidding me??!! I then was just so furious that I couldn't bite my tongue any longer! I said "Sir with all do respect I feel like you guys are trying to jerk me around. This is my money and this is your employee mistake this needs to be fixed rite away!" He then proceeded to cuss me out he called me. Bi*#h several times! I couldn't believe it this is the owner I mean this place is named after him and he's treating me this way? My daughter, who is young and moving into her first apartment, bought a "queen" bed from this company and the bed is NOT a queen. She called and spoke to "Christian Mingle" (real name? doubtful). He was rude to her so I got on the phone and he was rude to me, so I told him he was being rude. He began rattling off a number to call and then actually hung up on me. Came here in 09 after a house fire.. manager (wish I had his card!) helped out tremendously! Got 5 bed sets, and got a break on some that had dirt on them - no other store even came close. I was hesitant about using Billy Bob's Beds because of bad reviews online; however, I have friends that have told me that they had good experiences there. Armed with this knowledge, I decided to give them a test run by purchasing only one of the three mattresses that I need. My friends did not use Billy Bob's delivery service. I would have given Billy Bob's five stars if not for their delivery contractors. I asked in the store if they would deliver the mattress upstairs and was told that they would. It turns out that they will deliver upstairs unless they FEEL (notice that this is a completely arbitrary form of measurement) that it is too tight of a fit. I was told that this because they don't want to be held liable for damages. Needless to say, they deemed my stair case too tight to fit. Now I have a mattress in my living room and will have to bribe some friends to come over and help me get it up the stairs. If they are worried about liability then they should have insurance. I will likely not be buying my other two beds from them because of their horrible delivery. Oh well. Update: I am raising my rating from two stars to 4 stars because the store itself is fine. I I my have a problem with their ability to deliver. I had the mattress taken up the stairs by the movers that moved my furniture. It was indeed a tight fit, but it did fit. I think Billy Bob's would be better off telling people that they do 1st floor deliveries (drop offs) only. The store is fine. John, the sales representative was great. I don't recommend using their delivery service, unless you have a one story house or live on the first floor of an apartment. If I do decide to buy mattresses from them in the future, then you can bet I'll take care of the delivery myself. read more

Definitely not high end place, we bought a mattress for our guest room, I decided that we could haul it home after I had opted to pay for delivery, no, they would give me credit for the delivery charge! Unbelivable., when the mattress was delivered I was told, they would just leave it standing , they dont unpackage and put it on the bed! We went and picked out a mattress, not being totally familiar with San Antonio and out and about running errands did not realize how far out of the way Billy bobs was located. Anyway, so we went to go pick one out, my stupid self assumed delivery was free or at least not crazy expensive. The guy told us 100$ to deliver it themselves or 4$ to Load it in the back of the truck for us (lol okay thanks for the hospitality). Kind of annoying given we spent close to 2grand. So long story short, my boyfriend and I were sitting in the parking lot for five whole minutes discussing if we should find a place closer and having to drive all over SA with a king size mattress, we live in schertz. My boyfriend wanted to just return it and go to a different store not an hour away. He went in a told them about our predicament and the guy said to look at the bottom of the receipt, "no returns, no refunds, no excuses". Mind you they don't point that out to you or even mention it PRIOR to a purchase or signing the receipt. My boyfriend was for upset and told whenever he was we literally hadn't even left the parking lot. The guy just had a touch luck attitude and said I've been working here X amount of years and never given a refund. Wife wanted a King bed. We knew want we wanted and checked local places, Costco, etc., Not sure how she found Billy Bob's Beds, but we went there. The place from the outside does not look spectacular. They had great prices, and we found what we wanted for much less than Costco or Sleep America places wanted. Their customer service skills are limited. This is very much a "look around and tell us when you are ready" type place. I would go back, they have a little furniture store on the side too, but all they have is cheap junk furniture so don't let that or their strange billboards turn you off. They JUST lost a potential repeat customer. Instead of being helpful they were completely opposed to solving my problem. My friend wanted to get me a good deal so she bought me some sheets for my new mattress I did not know if it was a full or a queen. I was not home when she asked me what size I needed and I thought it was a full so she asked employee if it wasn't the right size could I exchange it for a bigger size? He said yes to her that I could exchange it for the correct size. He never told her that the package could not be opened. So when she gave me the sheets and I got home to try them on my bed, they did not fit. I only tried the fitted sheet on and it was maybe for a couple minutes and then I folded it back up and put it in the bag. Did not use it at all. I tried to take it back to the store and they told me that they could not exchange it, unless the package had not been opened. Now, I was honest when I answered them and said I had opened it to try on the mattress because I could not tell if it fit without trying it on. I looked all over my mattress for a size and it did not say any so that was the only way I could know if it fit or or not. One employee was nice he would have considered exchanging it.. But the older gentleman was completely opposed to it and did not understand the situation at all. They should have been happy that I was being an honest customer, because I could have lied and said that I never took the sheet out of the package, especially since it is a zippered bag. Now I am stuck with sheets that don't fit any of my beds, and they are useless to me. They have hundreds of sheets on clearance on their shelves, and they couldn't accommodate me and make me a happy customer, that would have definitely been a repeat customer.. If they had handled this differently and been willing to make the exchange considering the situation. I am usually a soft spoken friendly person...and I was very polite and in a good mood, I've never been a rude customer and never had a reason to get mad but never had a business been so unwilling to resolve a problem so easily fixable as this. I dont get "pissy" easily but they managed to get me there. I could have even suggested to many people to shop there as well but will never ever do that now. They lost me as a customer... Something tells me they won't be getting rid of all of those sheets that are on clearance anytime soon . Even considered buying a couple more sets in a few weeks, before this happened. We called prior to going to get confirmation on 2 twin bunkies and the male rep on the phone quoted both beds out the door for just under $120 so we dash all the way over from the far side of town spending gas and time, only to be laughed at and called liars infront of our 9 year old and that only a female was allowed to answer the phone no males so there was no way i had spoken to this store and thy proceeded to not give their names and said there was no manager on duty to express our concerns to and we had to leave before THEY CALLED THE COPS! I didn't visit this place for a long time because of all the negative reviews online, but in the last 2 months, two different friends bought mattresses from Billy Bob's and they had zero issues. My family braved Black Friday and it wasn't too busy at 11am. We walked around the store once before someone ran over to help us. He explained the current sales and deals, pointed out what was currently popular, and told us to yell for him if we needed anything. That guy was running all over the store, taking care of customers, and he didn't bother us again while we were deciding. Once we chose a mattress (holy crap it was a great deal!), he saw us start towards the register and walked us over there, filling out the paperwork for what we wanted. He was very efficient and we paid to have it delivered the next day. I was told it would be delivered before noon and it was (how rare is that!) delivered at 11:40am. We should've paid attention to ALL the horribly negative reviews we read about this so called "business"! Where do I even start with our horrible experience?! We were told about the low pricing this place advertised on the Ashley furniture set we were looking at purchasing. When we made the trip out to the store, we thought the place looked a little risky and we wanted to read up on it a little more. When we decided to save the extra money and purchase the set from here instead of Ashley directly, we decided to try to call Eric (who gave us information in the store) to verify everything. When I called the store number on the website, a man rudely answered "hello" as if he were being bothered. When I attempted to tell him I was looking for Eric with Billy Bobs, before I could even complete my sentence, he blurted out a phone number and hung up on me. When I called the number I THOUGHT I heard (because of course I didn't have a chance to grab a pen and note it), I got a cell phone automated voicemail. I decided to call the RUDE man back to verify the number and when he answered, I let him know that before he rudely hung up on me, I couldn't quite note the number and wanted to verify it considering when I called, I got a cell phone. He had the nerve to say "well is it not ok for people to operate businesses on their cell phones? Or why don't you tell me how you'd prefer for us to operate?"... I couldn't believe my ears! After telling this jerk what a complete JOKE I thought he was, in a very slow and patronizing way, he gave me the number again. When I finally got in touch with Eric, he apologized over and over and said he had gotten that complaint many times and gave me his word that he would make sure we were taken care of. Moving forward to delivery day: We were schedule for 9AM on a Saturday morning. We got a call at 9:15 saying they were finally on their way and would arrive in about 15 minutes. An hour goes by and nothing. When we called to figure out what was going on, the delivery guy said they had an issue that put them behind. Finally, about 12:30, they showed up. Oh and get this... you'll like this one! When they were unloading our furniture from the flatbed trailer (becuase they forgot the keys to the closed in delivery truck at home... I know because they were laughing about it) they were telling me the "issue" they ran into was them DROPPING 2 SOFAS OFF THE FLATBED TRAILER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! They took too long to turn around and pick up one of them, so someone else driving along the highway stopped and picked themselves up a free sofa! They proceeded to laugh about it saying "oh dude, Mrs. so-and-so is gonna be so pissed about her couch. She's been waiting for it!" Again... couldn't believe what I was hearing!! All I could think was... get our stuff inside, set up, and go! They get everything set up, push everything against the walls, and left. Not 2 minutes after they left, we were moving the new chest further down the wall and a screw from the back popped off. When we pull it away from the wall, the ENTIRE back of the chest was completely busted all the way around to the side and bottom around the leg. OF COURSE they pushed it up against the wall... they were hiding a brand new BUSTED piece of furniture we just paid for! I immediately called Eric, who again apologized and said he'd order a new one and make sure they came out the next weekend to switch them out. Same time the following weekend, I get a call from the delivery person... "we just pulled up at your place and just noticed this chest is busted too." OF COURSE IT IS! I called Eric back again... sorry sorry sorry, yada yada. Third time... they called us again and this time it was busted at the warehouse! Fourth time... when they didn't show up for delivery and didn't call, I called and talked to whoever the new girl is (who I'm sure is probably the same person that wrote the only positive review on this site praising the JOKE of a so called human being that is Billy Bob) who said she was going to call the delivery guys and find out where they were and would call me right back. Considering this was the FOURTH attempt at getting us the furniture, we were told we'd be first on the delivery list and they'd be here at 9AM. I called her at 12. THREE hours goes by and no call back. I finally decided to call her back around 3:30... "oh let me seeeeee... they ran into an issue but will be there by 5:30PM. We had plans to leave town that day and were already hours behind waiting on them. I told her to forget it and we would call them to schedule it when it worked for us this time. We would no longer work around their schedule considering we had been inconvenienced SO many times. Attempt 5... no show by delivery time.
