I have been meaning to check this store out since it opened (almost two years ago now!? ) I finally went with my friend, and we happened to park in the garage nearby. We chatted with the employee (whose name I don't recall at the moment) and she told us they could validate our parking for us. So nice! I have been to other clothing boutiques, so I kind of anticipated the prices to be on the higher side. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the clothes were on the same price range as other big brand plus sized clothing stores, but this is local so even better! There were a variety of shirts, dresses, tunics, skirts, pants, jackets, and they even have accessories! We were told they get new items in almost weekly, so that's great. They even had a decent sized sale rack when I was there. Eye Candy Boutique is beyond cute with the hippest and cutest fashions for plus size women. They carry sizes from XL-3X, plenty of cute accessories, and footwear. On this occasion, I wanted to come and check it out for future visits...I was on a time crunch. We were greeted by sweet Elsa, the owner and she gave us a cute tour of her store and answered all of my questions. There were just too many cute things to try on, I'll return to spend much more than the 15 minutes that I had to spare. Eye Candy gets new clothes in every Friday! I LOVE this place!! I used to work downtown and would stop by most every week to check out the new stuff. Elsa is fabulous and is so helpful and honest about what works and what doesn't. Shopping at Eye Candy totally helped me solidify my fashion style and I am loving it!!! Now that I am not working downtown, I still have to stop down periodically to get my fix. One of the things that I enjoy is that she has limited selections so 50 people are not walking around town wearing the same thing. All I have to say is, "it's about time"! I stumbled upon Eye Candy Boutique while taking a walk downtown one day. While passing this shop I noticed some stylish clothes in the window and decided to check it out. To my very pleasant surprise I discovered that Eye Candy Boutique specializes in plus size clothing. What is so special about this shop is not just the plus size options, it's that the items carried here are things you would really like to wear. The cloths are not the typical styles for plus size, meaning, outfits don't seem to be tons of fabric with a holes for your head and arms to peek out. The cloths are flattering and the owner, Elsa, has endless tips on how to mix, match and accessorize. She is really very good at this. On this visit I walked away with a dress, skirt and wrap coat. I was really exited to go home and pair them with my own clothes, based on suggestions from Elsa. Eye Candy is really a must for anyone who is seeking plus sized fashions, beyond Lane Bryant. Plus, there are lots of great jewelry items and shoes for women who are not in need to upsized clothing. I think what I liked best (above all the great things) about this shop is that it is locally and independently owned. You mean, I can look good PLUS support entrepreneurship and local economy?! This place is really great. Elsa is a warm and engaging professional who has chosen clothing and accessories very well. The clothing is for plus size women. I'm on the cusp, but still found two items with Elsa's help. A pair of skinny jeans by YMI that fit like warm butter (yummmm) and a dress that cinches at the waist. I was trying on an XL dress by another maker, and Elsa saw where it was baggy and pulled out the perfect dress with similar bohemian styling and a much better fit. There are clothes here for many tastes, including blazers and jackets and dresses you can wear to work. For those who are not plus size it's still worth a visit for the shoes and accessories. I also found a pair of earrings. All of the prices are very reasonable, and the markdowns on the sale rack were substantial. Elsa didn't try to up-sell me anything, which I appreciated. She took care of me with attention but without being too prying at all. And she dealt politely with other customers coming in without neglecting me.
