What can I say about Billy's Barber Shop ? It is a hidden Gem in Park City. Billy was well dressed, friendly, and very personable. His barber shop is located a the back of the Prospect Clothing Store on Main Street. The decor is minimalist and he has all the tools necessary for a hair cut and/or shave. Hot towel, razor and he even offers complimentary beer to his customers. One of the biggest reasons I gave him 5 stars is because he offers complimentary neck and side touch ups between hair cuts. So no longer will I be walking around with my neck line looking a little shaggy before my next hair cut. I have literally NEVER come across anyone that offers this type of personalized service. The guy who lives across the street from me is now retired but he used to cut hair. No, wait. He was the largest owner of Vidal Sassoon salons on the east coast. Started out as a barber but ended up a multimillionaire with Vidal Sassoon's cell phone number in his Rolodex. Did everything from $11,000 hair pieces to custom coloring for celebrities. Larry say 'da man got street cred. So last night when I was at a small party, after getting my hair cut at Billy's, Larry was pleasantly surprised to have Mr. Wealthy Barberman make a compliment on Larry's new 'do. Not only that, but he had me sit down and he explained the nuances of a good cut versus a crummy cut using Larry as a model (since the handsomeness exudes from every pore). How about that. So I can say that Billy's is technically proficient in a way that impressed a man who has been cutting hair for 40 years. Billy's is a bit hard to find in mid Main Street since it is inside a retail store; nonetheless, the shop is always busy. Couple of things which are irksome and you should be informed before you enter. They can't wash your hair and they don't do color. They can do a shave and they take the time to do it right. The hair color thing, which is a huge irritant IMHO, is evidently some regulation that requires a special license plus hazmat suits, caged monkeys to test the products on and an EPA certificate that no Yellow Cake Plutonium is located on the premises. Thank you City Hall and Greenpeace. It's hair Color, for goodness sake, not a meth lab. Sheesh. Anyhoo they have real barber chairs and they do a great job for what they have to work with. Some places in town charge twice as much and they just whip out the 'ol Flowbee. These folks are pros. Two things that could be a lot better: they want you to text for an appointment which I totally hate. Talk about a personal Service being obnoxiously impersonalized through our delightful social media. Numero two-o. They should at least offer bottled water while you wait. That said, they can do most kinds of cuts and are friendly. If you are put off by the railroad spike through the nose crowd and ink, you should prolly walk on by, but Larry finds it refreshing and the location is convenient. Give 'em a whirl, but shower before you go. read more

The barbershop sent an email after 9 in the evening cancelling a scheduled appointment for first thing the following morning. They did not offer a chance to rebook or a secondary time. I was running ~15 mins late for an appointment due to traffic and tried calling in to let them know, but the phone was going straight to voicemail with no voicemail box set up. When I arrived I was greeted rudely for showing up late, and told my haircut "would have to be a quick one." First I'm going to start with saying my hair has about seven weird monster cowlicks in the back of my head, Jorge crushed it. I've never written a yelp review but my experience was so good at Billy's that I wanted to give my respects. I usually get my haircut in Salt Lake but my stylist is out of town for a while and my hair was getting way too shaggy so I looked closer to home for some relief. I was initially a little nervous because I'm a woman and I'm not sure if he gets a lot of women in but it was hands down the best haircut I've ever received. Billy really took the time to make sure everything was clean and tight and he was totally amenable to anything I wanted. Billy understand's classic haircuts - and making the traditional look completely modern and contemporary. I'm not sure where the skill came from, because he was not a barber for his entire life - but all I can say is that he is a genuine natural. The shop is really convenient for Parkites - being on Main Street instead of out towards the Junction. His prices are great and you can do some shopping while you're at it. I always feel like a VIP in the one chair - and the way you are treated also makes you feel like a VIP. Ever since I have been getting my hair cut with Billy, so many people have been asking me why I'm looking so much younger and fitter. I hate to tell them it is just a really great haircut, but that is what happens. If I ever had to leave Utah, I would work to find a way to visit every six weeks because I'm not sure I trust anyone but Billy to cut my hair the way I like it. read more

It's a really cool shop located in the back of a clothing boutique, with a coffee shop upstairs. I highly recommend all three of these barbers. My husband made a noon appointment here today... he showed up 10 minutes late because I am 7 months pregnant with a high risk pregnancy and had been feeling faint so he got me in bed before he left. My husband explained this to the owner when he arrived but he still refused to take him...charged him $35 for no show and yelled at him to "go back to new york" (his phone number is from new york but we have lived in Park City for over 4 years and have always been staunch supporters of small businesses...especially now more than ever in the time of Covid, but regardless of that, it was a completely unnecessary comment when you run a business on main street in a Ski Town). I have never written a yelp review but the experience he just had seemed warranted that I should warn others...especially now that I am feeling guilty for making him late and the waste of money. read more

Great haircut and shave! Easy parking on Main St, since it was early(11am) on a Sunday. The barber shop is in the back of a boutique store. Terry cut his hair and Jorge cut mine had a great shave also! Love those hot towels... cool hip spot on Main! Billy used to be my neighbor in Park City, and was probably the most outgoing and friendly neighbor I've ever known. He has taken that same friendly, genuine attitude and combined it with some serious hair styling skills, and stuffed it into the coolest shop on Main Street, Prospect. Billy trained with another great barber from my former go-to shop, Chai's, and while I miss that place (a bit) the convenience of Billy's is undeniable. He has turned the back of Prospect into a rad one-seat barber shop, where he dresses the part and takes the time to get to know you and your style. Out of all the barbers I've known, he is the only one who really, actually remembers my hairstyle. My only caveat would be that he does stay very busy, so making an appointment is a must. read more
