I thought I'd lost my awesome stylist forever, but then a fine Yelper was kind enough to message me and let me know she'd gone to this salon. It took me awhile to make an appointment because I don't get my hair cut too often and the last time I went to Landis the person who cut my hair did it wayyyyy too short, which is a far more common problem than it needs to be. See, my haircut is boring: shoulder length, all one length. You'd think it wouldn't be so difficult to find somebody who can do that correctly. Everyone's always cutting it chin length or something else weird and it's just kind of frustrating. Lacey always does my hair exactly the way I want it and she's also fun to talk to. And now I can make my appointments via text instead of having to *gasp* call somebody on the phone. Plus, this place has a way better vibe than the uber-hipness than is Landis. I finally found…read moremy new go-to barber after a number of months of searching after John at Elite Barber Shop in Murray retired. Today was the second time I've had my hair cut by Kolby at The Haircutter and it continues to be a no-fuss experience. He listens to what I want and has me in and out of the chair in about 15 minutes. And the cut is exactly what I want with a nice short taper over the ears and on the back of the neck. That and the men's haircuts are only $18...and I'm out of there for $25 with a tip. My only regret is that this shop doesn't do shaving cream straight-edge shaves as my previous barber did right up until he retired. Bummer. So the new stylist had big shoes to fill. Rylie is kind, understanding, and listens without getting frustrated. I know I can be a bit difficult when it comes to my hair because my old hairstylist had known me for so long she knew exactly what to do. Seeing a new hairstylist can be difficult because the color is a different brand, the toners are different, etc. etc. Rylie has been nothing but understanding with me and listened to my "let's try this" etc. And we finally got to a PERFECT color! She is amazing and does a great job! The salon itself is super cute and parking is very easy. They often have great deals on hair products and have a good selection. Prices are great as well.

A mortifying experience. No ambience in this little room at the back of a storage office, no water no wine no magazines no music no retail products, and not very good communication skills obviously -certainly not a an uplifting experience ! I came here once and there wasn't any receptionist, so your hair stylist needs to know you are here. Also each hairstylist gets their own personal room, so it's like a mini mall and each store is a different hair stylist. My hairstylist recently relocated to this place, so that's the only reason why I went there. The hair stylist do have some common area that they share, like the hair washing station. But apart from that I think that's about it. Make sure if there is no receptionist to text or even call your hair stylist to inform her you are there. Other hair stylist will try to help, but there are so many people there they don't know everyone. I usually go to Amanda. She definitely know what she is doing and will make sure you leave looking great! And if you don't like your hair cut, she will try to make sure to fix it as much as possible so you like it a lot. I have really difficult hair to cut and she knows how to cut my hair to make sure you can see all the nice layers but not the harsh snipping. I can't express how much I like Amanda as my hair stylist and will keep going to her, even if i need to drive across town. I did try another hair stylist here once...she did a decent job, so I think the hair stylist here are pretty good. I'm just particular with people who touches my hair....I'm weird.
