All dogs are fresh and juicy and buns soft with toppings that are all great and fresh. the fries are homemade fresh cut and fried to perfection. I recommend having one of there delicious shakes to go along with your hotdog on a nice July day. my daughter loved her nuggets and shake as well. if at all your an American go out and try a Billy's Gourmet dog. read more

Worked mainly through lunch but come 1 p.m. I realized I needed something to eat to keep my energy up. Was sorta in the mood for a hot dog but remembered that Biker Jim's had closed a bit ago as has Steve's Snappin' Dogs. What to do, what to do . . .? Then I remembered that Billy's Gourmet Dogs isn't that far away so I ordered their great looking Bison Bratwurst, one of their more expensive choices on-line. Paid for it and got the pop-up notice saying it would be ready at 1:30. Got tied up on a call so didn't make it there until 1:45 or so. Came into an empty restaurant with 2 gentlemen workers in the back. Gave them my name and told them I was there to pick up my order. The response? "Uh, hmmm. Oh, ah, sometimes we don't get these . . . Yada yada yada." In other words, they hadn't bothered to look to see if any orders had come in after whatever rush they'd experienced closer to noon, and so they hadn't even started my order. One of them apologized and said they'd get right on it and in less than 5 minutes they did indeed give me my order; or at least what they said was my order. Now I've kinda been around for a while and so I"m not all that surprised when what you're told you're going to get isn't exactly what you end up getting. That was the case here. I'll attach what their menu shows as a picture of that product, and then a picture of what it turned out to be, but the bottom line is that what I got didn't have to the 2 things that were in the description and the picture that made me want to get what I'd ordered. The menu said said the bratwurst was split and grilled and served with jalapenos. Now who doesn't like that char and bit of crust that grilling a split wurst gives you? And for me who really was in the mood for something spicy, when you combine that char and jalapeno with ,brown mustard . . . mmmmm . . . that's some kinda good. This dog they served me wasn't split, wasn't grilled--or if it was showed no sign of that--and had not a single jalapeno on it. (I did manage after serious inspection to find 1 or 2 slices of onion in the sauerkraut, but nothing even remotely close to the picture. Bottom line (as to why Billy's didn't get 1 star) . . . well, the 2 gentlemen there, once they made up the excuse about why they hadn't already made my order, were apologetic and kind. Again, they both said they were sorry and wished me a nice day. I appreciate that, but my general feeling (that obviously made an impression on me since I've been working on this review for a while:), is that I won't go back to Billy's in the near future. I have no desire that any trouble comes to the workers from this review, but my feeling is that if you're going to ignore your work and decide to just hang out instead of doing your job, then, if you really want to make up for it, you'd produce a product that would make your employer proud of the food you've produced. We used to live down near Billy's and I remember visiting Billy's but now I remember why we never really went back.. hot dogs are not great. I would definitely not call them "gourmet". Don't get me wrong, they have some interesting toppings/choices but that doesn't mean they're good and certainly does not make them gourmet. My husband got one that looked like it was full of cheese-wiz. I got the Seattle dog and nothing was fresh about the cabbage, and the BBQ sauce wasn't chilled as described in the menu and it was pretty much disgusting. Way too much bun..not a lot of dog in general. I tried my daughter's hotdog, which was just a plain hot dog to try to give Billy's the benefit of doubt, but even that didn't taste good. There were two servers working, one was really nice, the other was not very nice at all. I don't think we'll ever be coming back here again. read more

As we walked in we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for food. Hopefully that usually means the food will be hot and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place wasn't even that busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the New York hotdog that was very underwhelming and my hotdog was hard to bite and chew. It didn't taste hot and fresh. The actually hot dog was very tiny. We only spent about $17 dollars on 2 hot dogs and a waters, so I'm glad everything was relatively cheap. What's not to love? Billy's has delicious hot dogs, with super creative menu options. They also have amazing milkshakes and fries. A friend and I were in town wasting time before our flight back to Philadelphia and were in need of a snack. We had found a cool beer garden online and while on the way there saw the sign for Billy's and could not resist. The meal was relatively inexpensive -- two hotdogs, a milkshake, fries, and two bottles of water for less than $40 with tip. While I'm not a local, I'd definitely go back and recommend friends in Denver check it out. read more

I've been searching for the best hot dog in Denver and had to check this place out! Small little hot dog shop with a nice outdoor patio area- I enjoyed the atmosphere! Quick counter service and they will bring your food to you. We tried 3 different dogs- the Coney Dog, the Texas Tommy, and the Bronco Billy. The Bronco Billy was definitely the favorite. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors with the cheese and bbq sauce, and the added touch of jalapeño was delicious. After having a Billy's dog at a concert at Ball Arena, my daughter and I were excited to go to the actual location and get the full experience. We could not possibly be more disappointed. The service here was the absolute worst. Not sure what is going on but this is the second time this has happened to us in Denver where the listed price on the menu is not what you get charged. After being rung up, all items were at least a dollar more than what was stated on the menu. When I asked the person ringing me up if the prices went up today or what, I got a blank stare and no response. The wait for a couple of hot dogs was far longer than I expected. When the food arrived the taste was off. At the Arena, the dogs snapped and juices exploded out from the fresh dogs. These were leathery and stale, like day old dogs. The sauerkraut was the wrong shade of sour and the ketchup from the bottles tasted like they had been in that bottle far too long in between cleans. Having a brain cell killing podcast blasting throughout the restaurant killed any chance at a vibe. That was a first for me, who skips music for a garbage podcast? The level of disappointment my daughter and I experienced was unmatched and whatever is going on with these up charges with no explanation going on needs to stop.
