    a menu for lunch

Was excited to see a fellow east coaster - how did I not know about this truck before? and I could not wait to try their menu. I saw the picture of their lobster roll (thanks Yelp) and was psyched to see there was a good portion of meat with no filler- proper east coast style. Alas they were not serving the lobster roll that day so we ordered the seemingly next best thing - grilled cheese with lobster. Why seemingly? Well - first there was a shortage of lobster in the grilled cheese - disappointing based on the pictures we saw online and second- the "note" I got from them when I recommended that one not order this sandwich in a tip. The menu as a whole looked great and I was merely suggesting that you may want to go with something else lest you be disappointed. The note told me that they could assure me that there was 2 oz. of lobster meat on my sandwhich. I however can Girl Scout honor tell you that this particular sandwhich, in this particular instance, on this particular day- that this was not the case. I hope this was an anomaly as 2 oz for the price paid and for the freshness would be more than reasonable. I was also told that I don't want to spend $17 on a sandwhich? Well actually I would and I do and would be happy to for lobster. I don't need it piled high- just a few more bits and I will gladly pay because: it is fair, I understand that they fly it in, I like to support local, independent business and it is lobster which is not cheap. It was an off-putting response. Perhaps- benefit of the doubt - it was an off day and maybe they just didn't like my joke about some of the lobster meat falling off onto the grill? Who knows? I read some of their other responses that suggests some customers are frugal or glutoness or both. Ouch....

You know a food truck has gotten under your skin when you stalk them on Facebook or Twitter to find out where they'll be so you can pop by for some grub. That's how I feel about East Coast Joe's. Maybe it's because I'm an east-coast transplant, but I just love this truck. Their crab meat grilled cheese is decadent and delicious. Their chicken tacos are amazing. Their deviled eggs are divine. I haven't had a bad meal from Joe's. I haven't happened upon them when they had any lobster yet, but I cannot wait to try their lobster roll when they get them back on the menu. Best of all, they're often parked outside breweries so you can pair your grub with a cold beer. Hooray!

Delicious lobster roll. Even though it is a bit pricey for a food truck (15$) there was a lot of meat.

I was in Boston a year and a half ago and probably paid about $18 for a lobster roll and a bag of chips from a food court.

This is hands down the best smashburger in Denver. The burger patties are crispy on the edges. The bun is soft. The sauce is yummy. The pickles are pickling. But for real, the pickles cut the fat of the burger really well. What is also SO delicious is the garlic aioli that you dunk the fries in. Like YUM. Not for those who do not garlic. Drunk and even sober - this is hands down some of the best smash burgers I've had in Denver. Not to mention crispy fries and the most garlic of garlic aolis. I was skeptical coming here when my friend suggested it but man was I blown away. The patty is thin and crispy - just like it should be. With no frills ingredients that just work under the melted cheese. I'm not even a burger fan and a dream of this place. The plus are the fries and sauce are just as good. A small menu but what they offer they do amazingly well - and service is quick! Would I come back: yes and yes and so should you.

My favorites are The Lloyd (sausage + cherry peppers), and The Shroom and Chive. If you are a pickle fan, you must get the pickle pie. I tried it once and it was fun but because I am not a pickle fanatic, it was a one-time thing for me. It also doesn't hurt that it's located inside one of my favorite local breweries, Cerebral Brewing. I would recommend coming at opening to ensure you get a table especially if the weather isn't perfect and everyone is fighting for an indoor table. Bonus - Both Outside Pizza and Cerebral Brewing are also on inKind! I would be a regular at both spots even without inKind perks, but it definitely doesn't hurt to get cash back + be able to apply coupons to both places. Both my friend and I solidly ate half the pickle pizza each - it's not just a novelty flavor, it's definitely something you can eat for a full meal (assuming you like pickles). I should probably come back and try their more traditional flavors.

I started going when they were still operating out of their food truck, and honestly, watching them grow into a permanent restaurant feels like seeing your favorite underground band finally make it big... except instead of music, they're dropping cheesy taco masterpieces. The queso tacos are absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way: crispy, cheesy, messy, and worth ruining at least one shirt over. And the consome? That stuff could heal emotional damage. It's rich, comforting, and somehow makes you immediately want "just one more taco" even when you're already full. Every time I'm in Denver, this place is mandatory. Not optional. Not "if there's time." Mandatory. My vacation itinerary basically starts with flights and ends with tacos. So happy to see Kike's getting the recognition they deserve. If you haven't been yet, prepare to have your standards permanently ruined for all other tacos.

The Bayou Fries are BANGING. These seasoned fries doused in herbs, crispy shallots, cheese and a creole sauce are addictive. And for $9, an insane portion of them.
