So glad to finally see a Yelp page for these guys, I've been wanting to give them a rave review for a while. I've been to the farmer's market at the Denver Federal Center for 3 straight years and never have I had so many lunches from a single vendor! lol. Their lobster rolls are to die for: I've checked with a coupld of friends who are from the east coast, and they said the lobster rolls from this food truck are as close to the real thing as Colorado can get! All the offerings from East Coast Joe's are a bit on the pricey side, but are definitely compensated by quality, here's a list of items I've tried in the order of most favorite: - Lobster Roll: very refreshing, every bit is full of lobster meat. The bun is very buttery and the right amount of crunch. I so want to finish trying the different items on the menu just so I could come back and have more lobster rolls, lol - Pulled pork sandwich (I think they lovingly call it "Stick A Pork In It" or something like that, cute name): not as big as I expected, but the pulled pork is SO tender, and instead of being smothered by BBQ sauce, it is topped with a garlic aioli, rich and buttery; then plump bacon strips (no kidding, their bacon is really good); then arugula. Incredible flavor - Lobster BLT: because of the bacon, duh - Lobster grilled cheese: good quality melted cheese, but I much prefer just having it alone (and put the lobster meat in the lobster roll!) - Lobster sliders: mini and cute but you can't survive on just these alone, so might as well get the lobster roll - Shrimp roll: I guess I'm not a big fan of shrimp in sandwiches, especially if there's the option of having lobster in it! I was told they also make a good sausage sandwich, haven't had a chance to order that yet, and I sincerely wish they bring back the homemade chips. I don't often get to food trucks as they are not as plentiful in Boulder as they are in Denver but I was really glad this one was at Cannonball Creek Brewery in Golden on Sunday. I was with a good beer drinking (and brewing) group and since I am not really a beer drinker I was sure hoping for good food. And I got it. I ordered a Sunny BLTA but without the cream cheese. It seemed like there was already plenty on the brioche roll and with the sunny side egg it was moist on its own. The lettuce was arugula, my favorite salad green, and there were several large slices of fresh tomato and avocado on the roll. The bacon (two huge pieces) was cooked just right for a sandwich, chewable and not hard. The grilled roll was nice and soft so you could keep the big pile of filling intact while holding it. I would get it again in a heartbeat. The staff was very friendly, happy to customize my sandwich though very busy. I appreciated that they delivered the food to our table without us having to wait around the truck. I hope to see this truck again at some other event I might get to in the future. read more

STUPID GOOD! The lobster rolls here are simple and yet simply amazing! You get a lot of quality lobster on a perfectly buttered and toasted split top bun. I am in love and yet... I also often get the lobster BLT. You may wonder how you can top a perfect lobster roll, well... You don't have to. You can just have something different that is an equal to your first selection. It is another great helping of lobster with bitter greens and smoky bacon paired with creamy mayo on a delicious brioche roll. It is off the charts! The owners (Ali and Joe) are friendly. Get to this food truck by checking Twitter or Facebook - bring cash or card - order multiple things... It will NOT let you down! Was excited to see a fellow east coaster - how did I not know about this truck before? and I could not wait to try their menu. I saw the picture of their lobster roll (thanks Yelp) and was psyched to see there was a good portion of meat with no filler- proper east coast style. Alas they were not serving the lobster roll that day so we ordered the seemingly next best thing - grilled cheese with lobster. Why seemingly? Well - first there was a shortage of lobster in the grilled cheese - disappointing based on the pictures we saw online and second- the "note" I got from them when I recommended that one not order this sandwich in a tip. The menu as a whole looked great and I was merely suggesting that you may want to go with something else lest you be disappointed. The note told me that they could assure me that there was 2 oz. of lobster meat on my sandwhich. I however can Girl Scout honor tell you that this particular sandwhich, in this particular instance, on this particular day- that this was not the case. I hope this was an anomaly as 2 oz for the price paid and for the freshness would be more than reasonable. I was also told that I don't want to spend $17 on a sandwhich? Well actually I would and I do and would be happy to for lobster. I don't need it piled high- just a few more bits and I will gladly pay because: it is fair, I understand that they fly it in, I like to support local, independent business and it is lobster which is not cheap. It was an off-putting response. Perhaps- benefit of the doubt - it was an off day and maybe they just didn't like my joke about some of the lobster meat falling off onto the grill? Who knows? Take my review with a grain of salt. I was in a grumpy mood by the time I ordered here, due to the long lines at Food Truck Wednesdays on the Anschutz Medical Campus. A hot dog was not my first choice, and I"m not the biggest hot dog fan. That said, I ordered the hawaiian hot dog. Ham, pineapple, and some creme fraiche? On a nice toasty buttered roll. But portion was a bit small, and I feel like I could've made this concoction at home. I ate the whole thing and it was good, but not great. I wish they also served sides, like bags of chips, popcorn, or french fries! read more

East Coast Joe's was stationed at Epic Brewing Company for a Yelp event. We were treated to a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree. We had the "Hot & Naughty Dog" and their Siracha Deviled Eggs. The Hot & Naughty Dog could have used less cream cheese (and spicier!) as the cream cheese drowned out the flavor of the otherwise delicious concoction. The Siracha deviled eggs were excellent. I walked past the truck once and wanted to try. Kept thinking of all the times I ordered Maryland Crab cakes or some type of seafood in Denver that was really bad. I circled the market and kept thinking I should give East Coast Joe's a try. I'm so glad I did!!!! This was one of the best seafood purchases I've had while in Denver. As an east coast transplant, Denver seafood is a constant struggle. East Coast Joe's lobster roll was better than the ones I had in Menemsha on Martha's Vineyard. Menemsha is a fishing town the lobster boats come into. Fresh lobster right off the boat. A Friday afternoon staple on the island. East Coast Joe's delivered some 2,000 miles away!!!! I have a feeling that East Coast Joe's is the beginning of my love affair with food trucks. I frequently see these guys outside Lone Tree Brewing Co, but sadly we always seem to miss each other. However, I was fortunate to catch them on a recent Saturday afternoon. We tried their truffle deviled eggs and hawaiian chicken tacos. I can definitely do without the truffle/egg combo next time. I love deviled eggs, but truffle is overdone and definitely does not belong with eggs. The chicken tacos had good flavor and nice big slices of fresh avocado. Also, seemed a tad pricey but I'm withholding star deduction until I try some more of their offerings. I like the option to text your order, and they bring it to your table. I miss East Coast Joe's. When I lived closer to a local brewery, they were there all the time. What I miss most, besides the delicious lobster rolls, they had this avocado shrimp salad that was absolutely heavenly. It was a shrimp salad with honey served inside an avocado. Probably one of the best things I ever had, I'm on here probably 2 years later, and I still remember that. Bring it back, send me a message when you do, and we'll drive across town to try it again! And for those complaining about the price of a lobster roll, lobster is expensive. Especially fresh, Maine lobster. I was in Boston a year and a half ago and probably paid about $18 for a lobster roll and a bag of chips from a food court. Stuebens I think sells it for $20. So they aren't raking in the dough at your expense. They just want to share their hometown food with you. Much like I'd probably have a green chili food truck in Boston if I ever transplanted there. So if you feel like going to Boston without taking the long flight, give them a try. read more

I discovered this food truck in 2013 soon after they started out. I was skeptical when I saw the lobster roll on their menu, but when I found that the lobster was flown in fresh, I went ahead. Good thing I did because it's an awesome lobster roll! It's surprising how much lobster they put on the roll. If you have an issue with the lack of "other" ingredients on the roll, keep in mind you're upset about wanting something other than lobster. Think about that. For those who have an issue with the price or the time it takes to receive your order, remember these two things before you complain. One, you're paying for lobster fresh from the coast. Two, one person is making this once you order it, not before. If you want faster and cheaper food, go to a fast food joint and complain about the taste. This is definitely in the upper echelon of food trucks in Denver and is well worth the price paid, which isn't very steep. read more

You know a food truck has gotten under your skin when you stalk them on Facebook or Twitter to find out where they'll be so you can pop by for some grub. That's how I feel about East Coast Joe's. Maybe it's because I'm an east-coast transplant, but I just love this truck. Their crab meat grilled cheese is decadent and delicious. Their chicken tacos are amazing. Their deviled eggs are divine. I haven't had a bad meal from Joe's. I haven't happened upon them when they had any lobster yet, but I cannot wait to try their lobster roll when they get them back on the menu. Best of all, they're often parked outside breweries so you can pair your grub with a cold beer. Hooray! read more

This food truck has one of the most delicious lobster rolls I have ever had. Coming from the East Coast, it's important to have fresh lobster, and you can definitely taste the freshness here! Another extremely important part of the lobster roll: the bread. East Coast Joe's has some of the best tasting bread for the roll. I was extremely impressed (good bread is hard to find!). The lobster grilled cheese and BLT are also quite yummy. The potato salad was divine. I have since moved out of the city, but I still plan on making the hour-plus trek down to get my lobster roll fix! read more

The freshest lobster in town straight from Maine!. I have tried several items from their menu. My favorites are of course the famous Lobster roll, The Lobster BLT, The Aloha Dog, and the Pork Belly Sandwich. Their home made chips are delicious as well. Their prices are reasonable and portions plentiful. The owners are very friendly and you can tell they are very sincere about their product. I'm not usually one to complain about portion sizes, but the lobster roll was quite tiny. I don't think I have ever had a $15 lunch that left me feeling "damn it, I need more to eat!" That said, the lobster roll is quite outstanding - buttery, melt in your mouth luxury that leaves wanting 10 more. I am torn by this review as I really wanted to be wowed. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese and anxiously waited for it to be completed so I could savor the cheesy lobster combo. Sadly cheese is basically what I got. There was literally at best two tiny pieces of lobster. I'm talking bubble yum size. To be fair the two bites I had that actually contained lobster and cheese instead of just cheese was delicious. My friend and I ate there today at Civic Center Eats. We both had the lobster roll because the lobster BLT sold out. The lobster roll was good but not worth paying $15 for. It was about half the size of a lobster roll. There wasn't any lettuce or tomato or any other garnish. The roll was a little buttery as well. The lobster was very fresh though and there was a good amount. I don't think I'd go back though because there wasn't really any "bang for your buck." read more

Best food truck ever! They catered our reception this weekend, we got rave reviews about the food. Everything was super fresh and delicious! Huge chunks of lobster, everyone keeps talking about the primerib slider and crab cakes. The shrimp skewers were great. I wish I had put some strawberry bruschetta in my pockets for later. Adorable Food Truck! Great Lobster Rolls (which are a treat coming from the east coast.) They have the lobster shipped in almost daily, which Im sure could become quite costly. I have not only dined from the window of the truck to have the lobster roll, but i have also had the pleasure of attending one of their "Lobster Bake Dinners" Which was phenomenal, and well worth the price as it came with sides, and a mussel/ clam appetizer round! I tried East Coast Joe's for the first time at Civic Center Eats this week and ordered the lobster roll. While the lobster was very fresh and tastey, that was the extent of the good for me. It took a long time to get our food (about 15 minutes after a long wait in line) and when I did I was shocked. I think the lobster roll should be sold as an appetizer portion because it is so small. I don't have a big appetite and I had to get something else to eat at another food truck. I realize that lobster is not an economy ingredient and expect to have pay more for it. But I also expect that when I order lunch, I won't have to order another item to actually feel full, particularly when I've paid $15 for the first lunch. read more

East Coast Joe's came to our office for a company event. Being from Maine I had to order the lobster roll. Their lobster roll by far was the best I've had outside of coastal Maine! I grew up in Maine, so I know good lobster. East Coast Joe's could give any of the New England seafood chefs a run for their money. I had THE BEST lobster sandwich I've ever eaten at ECJ, a lobster BLT. It was hearty, delicious, and full of perfectly cooked lobster that was tender and flavorful. When I tell you this lobstah roll is fantastic, please do me a favor. BELIEVE me. It tastes like the ocean, which is indicative of its freshness, with a sprinkling of celery salt and just enough mayo to dress it. They cook the lobster to done and no further. And that buttered roll, though! Crisp and buttery out, soft in. [See also: fearfully and wonderfully made.] I go into a mild depression during their off season in the winter months, and then I basically stalk their website/FB page to see if they're popping up anywhere in town. I use yelp.com frequently as a resource, but this is the first time I've been compelled to post a review. As a frequent Foodnetwork viewer, I've been so jealous of the ability to experience a great lobster roll, living in land-locked Colorado. But that's changed, with my discovery of East Coast Joes! Their lobster roll is to die for, with a quite generous serving of fresh, sweet, lobster meat, just the right amount of mayo, on the perfect buttered bun. I've also had their lobster grilled cheese, and their truffled bacon deviled eggs, all quite excellent as well. I kind of hate the word to get out about this fabulous source, but I want them to be successful and popular so I can keep visiting them! Really friendly owners, presentation nice as well. Delicious lobster roll. Even though it is a bit pricey for a food truck (15$) there was a lot of meat.

Quality of service means everything. Add that to the fact that they have a huge variety of unique food choices. I hadn't had REAL lobsta rolls since I left Maine. Tasted just like home!
