yes, i will be *that* person who reviews a gynecologist. there might be some poor lady who needs…read moreto find such a service in nola and prefers to find her ladybit doctors via yelp. stranger things have happened, n'est-ce pas? since my uterus is currently fetus-free (and isn't looking to open real estate any time within the next couple of years), i have not and will not need to use the "fertility" side of this clinic. i *can* say that if the number of pregnant ladies waiting in the reception area is any sign of the aforementioned service, they're doing a damn good job. but i digress... dr. charbonnet has been my gynecologist here. i came to her initially by recommendation from a friend. i haven't been disappointed in my visits. she's fast, efficient, and thorough without making you feel rushed or uncomfortable. her nursing staff has been very nice as well. messages are answered promptly if the nurse isn't present at the time of your call. additionally, there were a few times in the past that dr. charbonnet was not available, and i made my yearly appointment with her nurse practitioner. however, i'm not sure if the NP is still at this location or not. as with any obgyn, getting an appointment tout de suite can be a pain so some pre-planning is advised. (it might be worth it to inquire about the availability of the NP if you don't have any serious problems that you think would best be handled by the MD.)

Anytime I called I was put on hold for a long period of time. There was a time I called about medicine side effects and the receptionist played telephone between me and nurse instead of sending me to the nurse. I saw Dr. George Inge. Anytime I would tell him anything it was like he was not listening. I was explaining to him the medication that was supposed to help my bleeding kept getting worse as time went on plus I had multiple side effects. I had to find another doctor because everything here was unorganized and it felt like I was being brushed off. When I expressed this issue I was told that it was incorrect. I also was told the medication was helping me since it was shrinking my fibroids when I had not been examined for 2 months. I ended up finding a new doctor. Also, because I did not call for a month which meant it was working... I was calling once a week prior and I was told everything I was experiencing on the medication was normal so I waited it out another month until I hit a breaking point. I called the nurse in tears and did not hear back for over 24 hours later after I had already been to the ER for my bleeding. I do not recommend this place for fibroid issues.

Unfortunately, our experience with Audubon Fertility started well but quickly began to unravel…read more After our egg donor had her AMH and AFC tests, I repeatedly asked the clinic for the results. The clinic told me over the phone, "the results are fine," but would not provide specifics. As paying clients, we were entitled to see these results, and it was frustrating that they withheld them for so long. When we finally received the test results, it was too late to make any changes to our plans. Upon consulting other clinics, we learned that our egg donor likely didn't have enough time between stopping birth control and undergoing the egg retrieval. Audubon's lack of transparency limited our ability to make an informed decision. Things continued to go wrong. When it came time for genetic testing, the clinic made a significant mistake. They filled out the paperwork as though our egg donor was anonymous, which meant we couldn't obtain the combined genetic report from MYRIAD. While this mistake might seem small, it was just one of several errors made by Audubon throughout the process. The next issue arose when it was time for sperm collection. Months before our appointment, I asked what we needed to do to prepare. I was told, "nothing, you're fine." However, we later discovered we should have been taking vitamins to improve sperm quality, which Audubon never mentioned. While I could have researched this myself, I trusted the clinic's guidance, which turned out to be a mistake. When we arrived for the physical examination, we were told we had to undress and undergo a full check, including a visual inspection of our genitals and feet. When I questioned this, the nurse explained it was an FDA requirement. I reached out to several friends who had been through surrogacy, both gay and straight, and none of them had been required to do this. I can't help but feel this extra step was due to the fact that we are a gay couple. The final straw was the egg retrieval process. Audubon scheduled the retrieval for a Monday, but we later learned that egg retrievals should be timed based on AMH levels, usually 34 to 36 hours after the trigger shot. When I asked the clinic how they managed to schedule the retrieval without monitoring AMH levels properly, the patient liaison said, "We schedule retrieval early in the 36-hour window." This led to a high number of immature eggs being retrieved. After consulting two other clinics with exact dates and times, both agreed that the eggs had been retrieved too early. Overall, I feel that Audubon Fertility did not prioritize us as clients, and we ended up wasting both our time and money. We didn't get many mature eggs, and unfortunately, our egg donor didn't either. If you are part of the LGBT community and considering surrogacy, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. I genuinely believe that other clinics will provide better care, transparency, and respect for your time and resources.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wiegand's for 17 years, and after my experience today, it'll be my last…read more Her staff is always friendly, and she used to go above and beyond when it came to patient care. She was double booked this morning, and I waited 30 minutes to get called back. I was the second person there. Ten minutes later, she came in for the visit. No apology or explanation as to why I had to wait so long (she usually apologizes and explains she was with a patient at the hospital or had an emergency). My weight was slightly up, and instead of offering encouragement on how I can better manage it, any idea I discussed was shot down with negativity. I've never felt like such a failure, and to top it off, weight in general is a sensitive topic. I've struggled with it my entire adult life. In addition, she asked if I received the vaccine. I've done my personal research and have decided to wait until I'm done having kids to do so. My personal choice. She told me I NEED to get it and said her daughter wants kids soon, but she got vaccinated anyways. Good for her. She also snarkily said, "any information out there saying it affects fertility isn't true anyways." I just replied with, "ok." It took everything in me not to burst into tears this entire appointment, and out of the years I've been a patient, I have NEVER been so rudely treated (by any doctor) in my life. I moved to Texas 7 years ago and considered switching four years back for the sake of not scheduling appointments around my time off/vacation days. Now, I'm browsing doctors close to me who will take action instead of shut down and condemn.
