I know the people that call your name don't care what your name is, but I guess I just think they should fake it a little better. I blame Ochsner itself, because the people who work there apparently don't consider it part of their job to call people the right names. It makes it clear that you're not trustworthy when you start out our interaction by calling me the wrong name when my preferred name is right there on the form. And, so, maybe that's good, knowing right off the bat that you aren't to be trusted or believed. If that was your goal, mission accomplished. Ochsner, please train your employees properly.

All of the ultrasounds were done in the office on an as-needed basis to check on the baby. She clearly explained everything that was going on, whether I asked questions or not. The staff in the office were always kind and professional. My actual delivery was bright and early in the morning, 5 days earlier than expected, but Dr. Grace was right there to welcome my daughter into the world. She also came to the hospital room to check on me once a day until we were released. I highly, highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing OB/GYN.

Please review your EOB carefully after an annual physical at Ochsner…read more My son previously had an annual preventive visit at Ochsner and unexpectedly received an additional problem-oriented office-visit charge. Because of that experience, when I saw Jillene Amow, NP, for my own annual physical on April 30, 2026, I was specifically careful not to raise unrelated medical issues or seek treatment for a separate condition. Despite this, Ochsner billed both the preventive physical (CPT 99396) and a separate Level 4 problem-oriented visit (CPT 99214), resulting in a $25 copay. I disputed the charge, and Ochsner later acknowledged in writing that the Level 4 service was not supported. However, instead of removing the additional office visit, Ochsner changed it to CPT 99212, a Level 2 problem-oriented visit, and I was again billed the same $25. What apparently triggered the separate charge was that, while routine labs were being ordered, I asked to have my zinc level checked. I briefly explained that I had previously experienced neck itching and was taking over-the-counter zinc. I was not seeking evaluation or treatment for the itching. There was no new prescription, medication change, referral, or separate follow-up. The medical note itself says the condition was "well controlled with zinc" and that the zinc level was added "at Client request." What makes this particularly frustrating is that approximately one-third of my time with the NP was spent in a casual conversation about my skin-care products. She commented that my skin looked very good and asked what products I used because she was interested in trying similar products herself. That was certainly not a problem-focused medical evaluation. The issue for me is not the $25. It is the billing practice and lack of transparency. After my son's experience, I intentionally tried to keep my visit strictly preventive, yet I still ended up with an additional problem-oriented office-visit charge. I have formally requested a Coding Compliance review from Ochsner. I am sharing my experience because other patients should be aware of this possibility. If you go to Ochsner for an annual physical, carefully review your EOB afterward and check whether an additional office-visit code was billed alongside your preventive-care code. I believe patients deserve to know when something discussed during a preventive visit is going to be treated as a separately billable service, especially when it can result in an unexpected copay.

I only had to fill out one front sheet Have your driver license. Credit card and insurance card with you I brought a blanket with me because I always find doctor offices and clinics to be cold I also brought my phone charger with me since you never know how long you're gonna sit and wait. Surprisingly my wait wasn't that long at all What I really appreciated was they had already contacted my usual Walgreens and found out that their system was down So they saved me a trip and I went to another Walgreens to get my prescriptions filled And when you're not feeling good these are the little things that count

She listens, is thoughtful with her responses. She has made positive life changes for me. The staff is fantastic. Tanya handles the front desk, she is always super helpful and friendly. This is a very busy office, patient's have to manage their expectations. I dont know if I could maintain such a calm demenor if I were her. Rocky handles the lab but so much more. She's funny and efficient. A great combination. I hate getting blood drawn but she never hurts and always manages to distract me. Blaise is also great. It is like having an extension of your family. But remember, what you put out is what you get. Do not expect lightning fast service, they are not machines. Think of them as a small town doctor's office in a big city. Everyone everywhere is doing the best job they can. Geaux Garrett Family Medicine!!
