I feel like the staff value their customers differently. The receptionist's, hygienists, and Dr. Kaplansky himself give varying treatment levels in terms of service to customers. I found my cleaning to be rushed. I mean 35-45 minutes in and out rushed. My hygienist was not the most personable either. I tried to make small talk, and help ease my anxiety of the dentist but she did not make me feel any more comfortable. Dr. Kaplansky is a busy man, totally understandable. But as a patient, I feel like I should be paying for his presence, instead of him popping in and out to say hi for 1-2minutes during a 1 hour appointment. Although there are two receptionist's working behind the counter, I always find there to be a wait. They fail to even make eye contact with you. Half of the time, they are on the phone with someone, or starting at their computer screen. I understand you are busy, but make your patients feel welcomed, and valued, or else your banner of #1 Dentistry in Mississauga is completely irrelevant, misleading, and un-deserved.

Dr. Kaplansky was extremely compassionate and caring, and kept me calm throughout this traumatic experience. He was patient with me and reassured me everything would be ok. As a result of my accident, I required both a root canal and crown for my front tooth. Dr. Kaplansky was very professional and did an incredible job on the procedure. This office is basically staffed by angels. Every single person was excellent. Leanne, the office manager, is so kind and welcoming and efficient, and she responds very promptly. As soon as I got back to my office I saw that she'd already sent me my full receipt via email! Stephanie, my hygienist, and Dr. Aisling Whitaker, my dentist, are both gentle and compassionate and ethical and thorough. They carefully reviewed my medical history/profile, which I was invited to fill online prior to my appointment, and approached my appointment with my previous experiences in mind. As weird as it sounds, the whole cleaning and exam experience was just very...well, relaxing. I got to leave the office and stop thinking about work for the duration of my appointment. What I like most is that their practice is full of integrity. There was no forceful, pushy selling of things I didn't want or need - which was my experience at the last dental office I went to and why I was looking for a new one. They pointed out things that weren't immediate concerns but should be kept an eye on, and told me about options I might consider down the road. The second thing I appreciated the most is how thorough they were. Dr. Whitaker walked me through my xrays and photos to explain the health of my teeth, gums, and jaws, section to section. She even pointed out a weird growth in my sinus on the 360 xray that needs to get checked out. Luckily, I already have an appointment with an ENT - not about that, but now I know to bring this up to his attention - but even if I didn't, she did mention that she can write referrals to dental surgeons or ENTs to get it looked after. She even asked me to ask my family doctor to forward them any CT scans or other diagnostics my ENT does, so that they are all on the same page. I really appreciate their collaborative approach, how they will coordinate with your other health practitioners to ensure you're looked after from all perspectives. I can't recommend them enough! (Also, I'm really embarrassed to add that I can't remember the name of the person who took my xrays and photographs, but she was great, too. Very kind and patient and she had really steady hands.)
