And just 1 day later I am so amazed how I now can see so crisp and clear and feel great, and am on my way to a smooth recovery. The office never communicated to me that my LASIK evaluation appt would require my eyes to be…read moredilated, so I showed up by myself and was unable to have the evaluation because I needed to drive myself back home afterwards. The office also messed up scheduling my LASIK surgery appt. I live in NC and I was only visiting NY to have this surgery, so when I made the appt they told me that my surgery was booked for the Monday immediately following my Wednesday evaluation. However during my evaluation, they told me that they did not have my surgery date scheduled and that they no longer could fit me in on Monday despite me driving all the way from NC for this procedure. After all this, they said they could just "reschedule me again for a later date" despite the fact I told them I don't live in the area and I only made the commute from NC to NY in order to have this procedure done. They then just casually told me "then you're free to leave." I'm an easy-going guy but this was extremely frustrating and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I'm very disappointed because I was looking forward to having LASIK done, and I'm very upset at all the time I wasted because of the poor communication and the scheduling failures of this office.

If you are in need of emergency appointment or something soon, this office is not the one. My son's glasses broke and needed the prescription to get new glasses, called and spoke with Bernice and she was quite unpleasant and offered no help with situation (even though I had scheduled a new eye appt which is 1 month from now). She didn't offer to make an eye prescription exception/extension because my son's glasses broke. Things happen and because it didn't fall within the time frame my son should not suffer. Possibly if they had emergency time set up during the day for customers like this my son would be able to get in sooner. Not this place. I asked for the old prescription and she provided me with a copy and her hand written, marker EXPIRED. Your deviance, pernicious is duly noted! The eye place I have an appointment with requests the current (or old in my case) prescription and she made it a point to cause me embarrassment as they could plainly see from the date that it would be calculated expired. Dr. Pisanchyn is a pleasure though. It's too bad we will not be returning here for future visits. Some staff may need additional coaching.

At…read morethis facility I was told that instead of using eye drops for a month after the surgery, I would be given a shot in my eye which would produce a black spot which would be gone in a few months. As of now, 11 months later the black spot, the size of a nickel, is still floating in my eye. Upon going to his office in August about this problem, I was told that the black spot may never leave my eye. While I was in the waiting room in August, I talked to a friend who also had an appointment who had my same procedure in November and he had the same black spot. I was told that the shot that was given to me could not have been done in the hospital because it was not approved by them. Why then did Sambursky use the procedure and how many other patients now have this black spot in their eye?

I suddenly could no longer wear contacts, so I switched to glasses for 4 months and that was even worse. I'm an active person, who is mostly always on the go. I went to see Dr. Sambursky and his wonderful staff, and immediately I knew this would be a great option for my eyes. Dr.'s office staff are so kind, their desire to help you is genuine. They walk you through every step of the procedure, they hold your hand during the procedure, and they follow up with you, all with such amazing customer service. Anyway, you don't need to know all the details, just that she acknowledged my frustration with the post-COVID corporate hellscape that is Centralized Human Resources Centers that Visionworks unsurprisingly takes part in. This is obviously beyond her control, but what WAS in her control was the kindness and humor she showed my wife and I in making things right. Each follow up was in kind, and we ended up purchasing a set of glasses in addition to the contacts. In a calamity of errors (it's hard to stop tripping down a set of stairs), the trial pair of contacts was in the wrong Rx, but this was quickly resolved with the on-site doctor. At that point, it was just funny, and we all had a good-ol Karen laugh about it. The gentleman who adjusted her glasses today was super kind. Once my wife - who's only period of rapid decision making has been saying yes to my proposal - had lunch and realized she needed a second adjustment just 20 minutes after these poor people thought they were finally rid of us, he happily made the necessary adjustments to the princess and the pea while Kelly hid from us behind her desk. Needless to say, we told her "see you real soon!" In conclusion, corporate center robots in no way represent the awesome human beings you will interface with at the store, and I encourage you to give this place your business.
