The food vendors are also awesome - one of them makes the best sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches. And this is coming from someone who's been to all the delis in NYC :) The market is open every Saturday during the summer from 9 to 1PM. Examples of my sojourns here: Have met the 'Urban Gardeners' here - that you see on local TV - and learned how to make different but healthy things like Swiss Char Burgers from them, as well as buying organic Kale, a real green powerhouse. Prices are getting higher but quality's not compromised Better generalized examples: a) As you get in the door, there is a terminal to flash your loyalty card. This gets you coupons for purchases, b) They still smartly send monthly mailing mag with coupons to get you in the store with unbeatable buys. Sunday paper ads are great. c) Upon checkout, you'll get coupons like a dollar off for fresh produce d) Get plenty off-price gas from Sunoco stations with loyalty card. e) Often have buy 1 get 2 free on brands like Freihofer's and Thomases. Don't have loyalty card on you ? They can access it it with your license or phone, naturally. f) Cafe with abundant seating is great place to hang and try new things. Town of Chenango also has a similar location, but I prefer this one. I appreciate New York State based Price Chopper's efforts. The market has locally made crafts like jewelry, candles, and jam, a small selection of fresh produce and meat, gluten-free pantry items (not a huge selection, but more interesting options for pasta and cereals than you can find in a mid-sized grocery store), spices/tea in bulk, and locally roasted coffee beans. For the size of the store, they really have a good variety and strike a good balance of basic groceries vs gourmet items. The coffee shop has the standard coffee and tea drinks with some seasonal specialty drinks plus a moderate assortment of baked goods. I tried the blueberry muffin, lemon lavender scone, and a matcha latte from the coffee shop. The baked goods were great. Both had great texture (none of the dryness that cheap GF baked goods often suffer from) and nice flavours. The scone was closer to the dessert side of the baked good spectrum (sweet and almost a shortbread cookie texture), but the muffin was less sweet and wholesome-tasting. My matcha latte was pretty good, easily the best matcha I've had in the Binghamton area. I was with my mom, who got a black tea, and while I didn't actually have any of her tea, I know and like the tea company that they use. The vibe was friendly and welcoming. She showed us around the store, explained the isles, and invited us to sample the taco soup she had on the daily soup menu. My son and I loved it! We both order a bowl and a fresh juice. I did some light shopping and couldn't believe the prices! I've been to health food stores all over the country, and this on by far has the best prices! Homemade, organic soup was $4.50 a bowl, a huge fresh organic juice, that was so big I almost didn't finish it was $7.50!! Lots of affordable bulk items (organic brown rice $1/lb!) also got my favorite Valarian root liquid. If I ever come back that way I will definitely stop again. The greatest service, prices, and yummy soup is a win!
